About Te Min Quan 대명관

Te Min Quan 대명관 is a well-regarded Chinese restaurant located at 270 Broad Ave, Palisades Park, NJ 07650, USA. With phone numbers (201) 592-8993 and +1 201-592-8993, it has established itself as a go-to destination for those craving authentic Korea-Chinese cuisine, also known as Joong-sik.

Environment: Based on customer reviews, Te Min Quan is a popular spot, often bustling with diners, especially on weekends. Be prepared for a potentially crowded atmosphere and a possible wait time for a table. Seating may involve sharing a circular table with other parties during peak hours.

Services: The restaurant offers dine-in service. While the staff works to serve customers efficiently, the high volume of patrons might lead to a slight delay in order taking and food delivery during busy periods.

Features: Te Min Quan specializes in classic Korean-Chinese dishes. A standout item, frequently praised by customers and even YouTubers, is their 짜장면 (jjajangmyun), or black bean noodles. It is noted for its perfectly cooked, chewy noodles and a uniquely flavored sauce that includes squid. Another highly recommended dish is their 탕수육 (tang-soo-yook), a fried pork or beef dish considered by some to be the best in the New Jersey area, boasting excellent crispiness and a flavorful sauce. Customers have also enjoyed other dishes like uni jjajang (a spicy variation of jjajangmyeon) and gochu japchae (stir-fried glass noodles with vegetables and meat).

Promotional Information: While specific ongoing promotions are not mentioned in the provided information, the restaurant's consistent popularity and positive reviews suggest that the quality of their food is a primary draw. Customers should be aware that there may be a merchant fee (around 3.3% or more based on a review) for paying with a credit card, which could make the final bill slightly higher compared to other similar establishments in the area. Despite a slightly higher price point and potential wait times, many customers find the overall dining experience at Te Min Quan to be excellent and worth revisiting.

If you are craving Korea-Chinese cuisine (aka Joong-sik) you won’t regret eating here. The place was pretty packed when I visited on Saturday 5/25 and this popularity speaks volumes. Tang-soo-yook (fried pork or beef) was excellent as advertised. I have no problem admitting as the best fried pork in NJ. It was fried to perfection and the sauce was very flavorful. But there are other Korean-Chinese cuisine restaurants in the area who can bang out the fried pork at similarly excellent level at slightly lower price. Now the staple : jjajangmyun aka black-bean noodle. It was excellent and I agree with many YouTubers who claim this as the best jjanjangmyun in NJ. The noodle was perfectly cooked that yielded ideal chewy texture. The sauce was uniquely blended with squid! I wasn’t too thrilled with the portion size, but the quality was more than solid. Looks like the final bill is about 10-15% more than typical Chinese-Korean restaurants in the area. Especially when you are charged with the merchant fee of 3.3+% for paying with credit card. I totally understand why they are doing it, but I wasn’t thrilled by it. But my overall dining experience is excellent despite these several negatives.

After half an hour of waiting, shared a circular table with 2 other parties. It took a little while to get my orders as it was filled with people. The fried pork was so crispy and juicy, and unijjajang definitely had a kick with some spice. Lastly, gochu japchae was good as well. It was such a great experience and will come back when it's not busy.

The algorithm of my Instagram recommended this restaurant, and one of my friends also agreed that Jjajangmyen was the best among NJ restaurants. Frankly, I thought Te Min Quan was so much overpriced. Also the amount of food was too small even for me. We ordered several dishes again and again because we felt so empty after eating some. Overall, I didn't like their noodles or sauce so much. I would rather go to Hannam Mart or H Mart because it's much cheaper and more delicious there. The parking is also more convenient at the supermarket.

Good size portions and great customer service. I enjoyed the fried beef dish with the side of sweet and sour gravy. The pork with ginger and scallion wasn’t bad either. A rather large menu so feel free to ask for their most popular dishes to ensure you’re getting their best.
