About Tasty Thousand Restaurant

Welcome to Tasty Thousand Restaurant, a Chinese restaurant located at 8817 Valley Blvd in Rosemead, California. As part of the diverse Chinese Restaurant category in the area, Tasty Thousand Restaurant presents a menu that appears to include dishes from the Northeast region of China (東北菜). This regional cuisine is known for its hearty flavors, use of preserved vegetables, and dishes that often feature wheat-based staples. For local users seeking a taste of this particular style of Chinese cooking, Tasty Thousand Restaurant offers a potential option.

Based on the limited customer reviews available, the experiences at Tasty Thousand Restaurant seem to be somewhat inconsistent. One reviewer had a positive experience, highlighting the helpfulness of the waitress, even with a language barrier. They also found the food to be "quite tasty" and specifically recommended the "iron beef," indicating it was a dish worth ordering and expressing a desire to return to the restaurant based on this positive encounter.

In contrast, another reviewer had a more mixed experience, describing it as "hit and miss." This suggests that the quality and freshness of dishes might vary. A significant negative point was the recommendation to "avoid 夫妻肺片 at all costs," with the reviewer stating that it was "not fresh (iced too long)." 夫妻肺片, often translated as "husband and wife lung slices" or "sliced beef and offal in chili sauce," is a Sichuan dish typically made with thinly sliced beef, beef offal, and a spicy, numbing sauce. The reviewer's comment about it being iced too long implies that the ingredients were not fresh and may have been improperly stored, leading to a negative sensory experience.

Despite this strong criticism of one particular dish, the same reviewer mentioned that "the rest was okay." They had visited Tasty Thousand Restaurant specifically because they were craving 東北菜 (Northeast Chinese cuisine) and saw it on the menu. The fact that they found some dishes to be acceptable suggests that the restaurant does offer some satisfactory options within this regional style. The reviewer also indicated a willingness to "probably try again" because they felt the restaurant had "a couple stand out dishes," implying that there were other items besides the iron beef that showed promise. However, they expressed a desire for the restaurant's ingredients to be "more fresh," echoing the concern raised about the 夫妻肺片.

The available reviews provide very limited information about the environment of Tasty Thousand Restaurant. There are no descriptions of the decor, ambiance, or overall atmosphere of the dining space. Therefore, it is difficult to provide a detailed account of the restaurant's environment based on the current information. The focus of the reviews is primarily on the food and service aspects.

In terms of services, one reviewer specifically mentioned that the waitress was "very helpful," even while navigating a language barrier. This suggests that the staff is willing to assist customers and provide service despite potential communication challenges. However, the reviews do not offer a comprehensive overview of the services provided, such as whether takeout or delivery options are available, or the general attentiveness of the staff beyond this one positive interaction.

The primary feature of Tasty Thousand Restaurant appears to be its offering of a menu that includes Northeast Chinese cuisine (東北菜). This regional specialty sets it apart from more general Chinese restaurants in the area. The positive mention of the "iron beef" suggests that this could be a well-executed dish representative of the hearty and flavorful style of Northeast China. However, the significant issue raised about the freshness of the 夫妻肺片 indicates a potential inconsistency in the quality and handling of ingredients, which could be a concern for diners looking for reliably fresh food.

At this time, there is no promotional information available in the provided text. Local users interested in learning about any specials, discounts, or new menu items at Tasty Thousand Restaurant would need to contact the restaurant directly at (626) 872-2330 or +1 626-872-2330. Checking online review platforms for more recent feedback might also provide insights into any current promotions or changes in the restaurant's offerings or service.

In conclusion, Tasty Thousand Restaurant in Rosemead offers a menu that includes Northeast Chinese cuisine, which could be appealing to those seeking this regional style. While one customer praised the tasty food, particularly the iron beef, and the helpful service, another reviewer had a more mixed experience, strongly advising against ordering the 夫妻肺片 due to freshness issues. This suggests that the quality of dishes might be inconsistent, and the freshness of ingredients could be a concern. Local users interested in trying Tasty Thousand Restaurant should perhaps consider the positive recommendation for the iron beef but be cautious about other dishes, especially those involving ingredients that require a high degree of freshness. Further research through additional reviews might be beneficial before deciding to dine here.

For local residents specifically craving Northeast Chinese (東北菜) dishes, Tasty Thousand Restaurant presents a potential option. The reviewer who was specifically seeking this cuisine indicated that some dishes were "okay" and that there were "a couple stand out dishes," suggesting that the restaurant might offer some authentic flavors from the region. However, the significant concern about the freshness of at least one dish (夫妻肺片) is a serious point to consider. Potential diners might want to inquire about the freshness of specific items before ordering, especially those that are known to be sensitive to storage and preparation methods.

Ultimately, the decision to try Tasty Thousand Restaurant might depend on an individual's willingness to risk inconsistency in food quality in pursuit of specific Northeast Chinese dishes. The positive review of the iron beef offers some encouragement, but the negative feedback about the 夫妻肺片 warrants caution. Exploring a broader range of reviews could provide a more comprehensive understanding of the restaurant's overall strengths and weaknesses.

Waitress was very helpful even with her somewhat broken English. Food was quite tasty. Would definitely come back. Ordered the iron beef. Recommend it.

Hit and miss. Avoid 夫妻肺片at all costs. Not fresh (iced too long). The rest was okay. I was craving 東北菜, so I dropped by here when I saw the menu. I probably will try again because they had a couple stand out dishes. I just wished that their ingredients were more fresh.

So, my favorite thing to look for is something called Guobaorou in cities with North Eastern Chinese food. Absolute favorite of mine and something I would refer to everyone. This was unfortunately the worst I've had. It is supposed to be crisp on the outside while still somewhat chewy on the inside with significant sour to sweet flavor. Unfortunately the pieces were so very hard and crunchy with just sweet flavor and barely any of the sour flavor. Dumplings we ordered were also flavorless. The reason for the 3 stars is because my wife really liked the Liurouduar and tofu dish. Service was overall good, waitress was very nice and respectful.
