About Tasty Seafood & Dim Sum
Tasty Seafood & Dim Sum is a Cantonese restaurant located at 12755 Southwest Fwy in Stafford, Texas. This establishment has been serving the community for a while, though it has reportedly undergone name and service changes over the years. The current iteration offers a more spacious dining environment compared to previous visits.
The restaurant specializes in both seafood and dim sum, providing a range of Cantonese culinary options. Customers have noted that the food served is tasty. However, one reviewer mentioned that the portion sizes can be a little small relative to the price, citing the crab as an example at $45. Despite this, for those who enjoy dim sum and Chinese food in general, Tasty Seafood & Dim Sum is considered worth trying.
For dim sum enthusiasts, Tasty Seafood & Dim Sum offers a potentially less crowded alternative to more popular spots. One customer who visited on a Saturday morning around 11:30 am experienced no waiting line. They were pleasantly surprised by the taste of most of the dim sum items, even preferring some dishes like the beef ball and beancurd roll over those from a well-known competitor. However, they noted that the ma lai gao had an incorrect color due to the type of brown sugar used, and the cheong fun was thinner than at other places.
It's important to note that Tasty Seafood & Dim Sum does not offer the traditional pushcart service for dim sum, which might be a drawback for some. Additionally, one reviewer mentioned a weird smell in certain areas of the restaurant. Despite these points, if taste is a top priority for dim sum, Tasty Seafood & Dim Sum is suggested as a place to try, especially for customers of other dim sum establishments looking for a taste comparison.
In summary, Tasty Seafood & Dim Sum in Stafford offers tasty Cantonese cuisine, including seafood and dim sum, in a more spacious setting. While portion sizes may be perceived as small for the price and the dim sum service is not via pushcarts, the quality of the food, particularly the taste of the dim sum, has been positively highlighted. Local users looking for a Cantonese restaurant with a focus on flavor should consider giving Tasty Seafood & Dim Sum a visit.

Great food and a good atmosphere. This Cantonese restaurant has been around for quite some time, although it seems to have changed names and services every few years. It is more spacious than the last time I visited. The food they serve is still tasty, although the portion is a little small according to the price. The crab is $45 by itself. If you like dim sum and Chinese food, it's worth a try.
Had dim sum on a Saturday morning around 11.30am and there was no line at all. I’m more accustomed to the crazy lines at Fung’s kitchen but wanted to try this place out instead. Pleasantly surprised by the taste of most dim sum items!!! The ma lai gao did not use the right brown sugar so the color was off, but overall we liked it better than Fung’s kitchen. Would rather come back here if taste was the number one priority. Cheong fun was thinner here than at Fung’s. Beef ball and beancurd roll was way better here. Worth a try if you are a frequent Fung’s customer to determine which you like better. They do not do pushcarts here though so that is a minus on the experience. Also, some parts of the restaurant had a weird smell.
The ambience inside the restaurant is not bad. However the KOI pond can be a little smelly as it is too small yet overcrowded with fish that can splash water on you as you pass through. The service is not bad but it can be a little slow. We have to flag the waiters several times. The dim sum is not bad but not extraordinary. Har Gao 3/5 Skin was too thick 👎🏻 Shrimp & Chives Dumpling 3.5/5 Skin was thick but plenty of chives in the filling Turnip with XO sauce 3.5/5 Not bad but abit oily for me Red Bean Sesame Ball 4/5 Not bad Shrimp Siu Mai 5/5 Great Garlic Snow Pea Leaves 4/5 Great (oily even though we asked for less oil) BBQ pork bun 4/5 Not bad (I thought it’s the black BBQ but turns out still the red ones) I noticed that a lot of people ordered the rice roll which I heard was made fresh to order. I’d like to try it next time, as well as the bean curd roll and the steamed fish that seems to be limited to 10 order per day.
So formerly this was new palace, new owners now. First off the service was awful in my opinion, menu has changed wrong item was ordered by waitress. Multiple times they brought food to our table that belonged to the behind us an then pick it up an take to there table. They brought us the wrong item that we didn't order. We were looking for the taro puff was told they didn't have anything like that so took a risk an ordered the honeycomb taro which turned out was the item we were looking for. So staff was truly a zero but had to give a 1 star. Atmosphere was quiet but with the constant wrong orders being delivered knocked it to a 2 food was decent but literally took an hour to receive all the food that we ordered even forgetting the honeycomb taro which we had to ask where it was before we left. Management needs to do some training an step in an help. Restaurant with this type of service seldomly last.
I’ve been here before but under a different name. I didn’t remember much last time so I wanted to try it again. 1. Turnip cake: It was too gummy. Texture was wrong although taste was okay. I didn’t like it. 2. Chicken feet: Flavor was good but feet was tough. It wasn’t cooked tender enough. 3. Beef tripe: I liked the flavor but tripe was a little tough. 4. Shrimp rice roll: this was good as well as the sauce. 5. bean curd roll: This was good as well. 6. Siu Mai was decent although not my favorite. 7. Pork ribs were good. Overall it was okay. If I was in the area I would come for dim sum.
