About Tasty Noodle House
Welcome to Tasty Noodle House, a "Chinese Restaurant" located at 2947 Chino Ave #3, Chino Hills, CA 91709, USA, specializing in authentic Shanghainese cuisine. Having served the community since its opening, Tasty Noodle House has recently undergone a change in management/ownership and kitchen staff, including a new chef. You can reach them at (909) 628-7187 or their mobile number +1 909-628-7187 for reservations or to inquire about their menu and current promotions.
The ambiance of Tasty Noodle House is described as "clearly Asian," with décor that was noted to be themed around the Lunar New Year. This suggests a culturally immersive environment that aims to provide an authentic dining atmosphere. While specific details about the décor are limited, the mention of Lunar New Year themes implies a vibrant and festive setting, at least at certain times of the year. The size and layout of the restaurant are not detailed, but the focus on Shanghainese cuisine often suggests a cozy and traditional setting.
Tasty Noodle House primarily offers dine-in services, allowing customers to experience the flavors of Shanghai in their restaurant setting. However, given the nature of most restaurants, it is likely that they also provide takeout services for customers who prefer to enjoy their meals at home. Delivery options might also be available through third-party platforms, although this is not explicitly mentioned in the provided reviews. It would be advisable to contact the restaurant directly to confirm the availability of takeout and delivery services.
A significant aspect of Tasty Noodle House is its specialization in Shanghainese cuisine, which is known for its rich flavors, often incorporating a touch of sweetness and the use of soy sauce. Based on customer reviews, some signature dishes include the beef buns (牛肉包子), which one returning customer noted were "pretty good, may be a tad better than before" even after the change in management. Other mentioned dishes include the salt and pepper squid and the Chinese pancake, indicating a variety beyond just noodles. The name "Tasty Noodle House" itself suggests that noodle dishes are a key feature of their menu, and one reviewer did order noodles, although there was a delay in its service.
A notable feature currently being offered at Tasty Noodle House is a 10-year anniversary sale, providing customers with a 20% discount on their orders. This promotional offer presents a compelling reason for both loyal patrons and new customers to experience the restaurant and its new culinary direction. The fact that the restaurant has been serving the community for a decade speaks to its established presence, and the anniversary sale is a way to celebrate this milestone and potentially attract new diners curious about the changes.
Recent customer experiences indicate a transition period due to the new management and chef. While one long-time customer noted that the dishes tasted "different" compared to their previous visits, they still found them to be "fine" and expressed a likelihood of returning. This suggests that while there might be a shift in the specific flavor profiles, the overall quality remains acceptable to some regular patrons. This customer also explicitly recommended trying the restaurant to see if the new chef's tastes are to one's liking, especially with the 20% discount.
However, another recent customer highlighted a significant issue with the service, specifically regarding the timing of dish delivery. They mentioned a considerable delay (10-15 minutes) in receiving their noodles after the salt and pepper squid, rice, and Chinese pancake had already been served and were getting cold. This disjointed service was the primary reason for a less-than-perfect rating, indicating that while the food itself might be good, the coordination of service could be improved, particularly if they are currently short-staffed as speculated by the reviewer.
Another observation from a reviewer was that while the customer service itself was "good," the overall "service was very slow." This aligns with the previous comment about potential short staffing and suggests that while the staff might be polite and helpful, the speed of service could be a point of concern for some diners.
In summary, Tasty Noodle House in Chino Hills is a Shanghainese restaurant that has been serving the community for ten years and is currently celebrating this milestone with a 20% anniversary discount. The restaurant has recently undergone a change in management and chef, leading to some alterations in the taste of their dishes, which some long-time customers have found acceptable while noting the difference from the original flavors. Signature dishes include beef buns, and the menu likely features a variety of Shanghainese noodles and other regional specialties. The ambiance is described as Asian-themed, with Lunar New Year décor. While customer service is generally rated as good, there have been recent reports of slow and disjointed service, potentially due to staffing issues. Local users are encouraged to take advantage of the 20% discount to try Tasty Noodle House under its new direction and experience the authentic flavors of Shanghai.

Customer Reviews
We’ve been coming to this Shanghainese restaurant ever since it opened and the quality and the tastes have always been consistent. Today, we’ve returned after a two-month break and found out the dishes tasted different. The beef buns (牛肉包子)were pretty good, may be a tad better than before. It would appear that there was a new management/ownership and staff since our last visit. Our regular servers were no longer there and there was a different chef. Although the dishes tasted different, they were fine (though we do miss a little of the old tastes) and will probably come back again. There is a 10-year anniversary sale going on right now (time sure flies) and you get a 20% discount. So, it’s probably worth a try to see if you like the new chef and tastes.
This is a really good Chinese restaurant in Chino Hills. Considering their current 20% off (Anniversary.) I get they are short staffed but when I do choose to eat Chinese food, I prefer the food come out all together or close behind, having to wait an additional 10-15 mins for our noodles when the salt and pepper squid, rice and Chinese pancake was out and already getting cold on the table was the main reason they are missing a star. The ambiance is clearly Asian and décor is of the Lunar New Year. The customer service was good but the service was very slow.
I don’t normally get excited over a lot of Chinese restaurants. They’re either expensive or the food is just good (not exceptional). However, that was not the case here. Not only did the FOOD TASTE GREAT, it was reasonably priced. For 4 dishes we paid about $45. The three of us left stuffed and happy. If you’re a 老外 (foreigner), don’t be afraid to come here. You’ll love the food. Besides, I heard ABCs (American Born Chinese) talking and their Chinese wasn’t great. I’d recommend what we got, but there’s more to try and I’m sure other stuff is good. We got (forgive I don’t remember how they translated on their menu): - 生煎 - 小笼包 - 炒年糕 - 干锅 If I have to be picky, I’d say the 年糕 was a tad bit more soft than I like it, but that’s just personal preference. It didn’t impact the flavor. Last, they have a 20% off deal going on for their 10th anniversary. Highlight suggest this place!
My family and I enjoyed the Spicy Boiled Fish, Hunan Style Lamb, and Beef & Chinese Chives w/ Dried Bean Curd! Delicious and spicy.. perfect meals for a cold, winter night. Due to inflation, the price of each dish has increased by about $5-$6 since beginning of the year (2022) but the portions are big and good for 4 people.
Not sure why other ratings are low, but I’ve been here multiple times and they never let me down. The taste is amazing, and with their lunch discount, the price and the portion is hard to beat. The taste, price, and portion combo deserves a high rating.
