About Tasty House
Tasty House, located at 2431 N Greenwich Rd, Wichita, KS 67226, USA, operates within the "Chinese Restaurant" category in Wichita, offering a variety of Asian noodle, rice, and specialty dishes with a focus on Chinese cuisine. For direct contact, Tasty House can be reached at (316) 260-2727 or +1 316-260-2727. The restaurant aims to provide a convenient option for those seeking Chinese food in the area, offering both dine-in and take-out services.
The establishment's online presence suggests a commitment to "delicious food, quality customer service, and easy-to-use online ordering options," and mentions that "Our dishes are made with quality ingredients to ensure you keep coming back for more." However, recent customer reviews provide a more nuanced picture of the actual dining experience, highlighting areas where the restaurant may not consistently meet these stated goals.
The **environment** at Tasty House, based on recent customer feedback, appears to be an area of concern regarding cleanliness and comfort. One review explicitly states, "4 of the 5 tables were dirty when we arrived (& they were not busy) 2 of the tables stayed dirty." This indicates a lack of consistent attention to cleanliness, even during non-peak hours. Furthermore, the observation that "2 tables were cleaned with water from a customer's glass after they left (I watched her pour water out of the glass and wipe the table)" points to highly unprofessional and unsanitary cleaning practices. Another concerning detail is the staff member putting on "make up while standing behind the counter and over the open bins of silverware," which further raises questions about hygiene standards within the dining area. Additionally, the interior temperature was noted as "on the warmer humid side," rather than a "nice cool place to sit and eat," impacting the overall comfort of the dining environment. While the intention might be to provide a casual setting, these specific observations suggest that the actual environment might not be as pleasant or hygienic as customers would expect from a dining establishment.
In terms of **services**, Tasty House offers counter ordering and typically provides dine-in and take-out options. While online ordering is advertised as an easy-to-use service, recent customer experiences highlight significant issues with the overall quality of service, particularly concerning cleanliness and attentiveness. The instances of dirty tables and unprofessional cleaning methods directly reflect on the service provided to customers in the dining area. The staff member applying makeup over silverware also suggests a lack of adherence to basic food service hygiene protocols. While the restaurant may be set up for quick service, these incidents detract from the overall quality of the customer experience, potentially making it uncomfortable for patrons. The disconnect between the stated commitment to "quality customer service" and the observed practices is a notable aspect of the service at this location. Although there is a mention in an older review (from 2020) of never having "an issue with the service at Tasty House" and staff being "very accommodating," more recent feedback indicates a decline in these aspects.
The **features** of Tasty House's cuisine, as described by recent customers, indicate significant inconsistencies in food quality and preparation. One reviewer described the food as "mediocre." Specific dishes received critical feedback: the "teriyaki chicken tasted like frozen chicken that had been warmed up with bottled teriyaki sauce poured over it." The "fried" rice, for which an extra charge was applied, "wasn't fried at all (no egg in it)" and tasted "tasteless, zero flavor," being essentially "plain steamed rice." Another dish, the pork Katsu, was deemed "dry and also flavorless," to the extent that it was fed to dogs. The Mongolian beef was rated as "mah," implying it was unremarkable. The general temperature of the food was noted as "luke warm," which is undesirable for hot dishes. While the "egg drop soup was good," this positive point stands in stark contrast to the widespread dissatisfaction with other main dishes and staples. This feedback suggests that despite a broad menu that includes traditional Chinese favorites, the execution of these dishes often falls short of customer expectations, impacting flavor, texture, and overall enjoyment. The lack of flavor in core items like fried rice and the perceived quality of ingredients are significant features impacting the dining experience negatively.
Regarding **promotional information**, while Tasty House's online presence promotes "delicious food" and encourages customers to "keep coming back for more," the recent customer reviews directly challenge these claims. The highly negative feedback on food quality, portioning, and cleanliness would significantly undermine any standard promotional efforts. Positive word-of-mouth, which is often a strong promotional tool for restaurants, appears to be negatively impacted by these recent experiences. While the restaurant might offer standard Chinese restaurant promotions such as lunch specials, combo meals, or online ordering discounts, the fundamental issues highlighted by customers regarding the core product and service would likely overshadow any such offers. For potential customers, relying on current reviews would be crucial to set expectations, rather than solely on promotional messaging. The severe disappointment expressed by repeat customers who spent a significant amount of money ("Ordered $90 in take out") and declared they "will never go back, it was the biggest waste of money," serves as a stark warning to others, effectively acting as a negative promotion based on actual experience.

Customer Reviews
4 of the 5 tables were dirty when we arrived (& they were not busy) 2 of the tables stayed dirty. 2 tables were cleaned with water from a customer's glass after they left (I watched her pour water out of the glass and wipe the table) She put on make up while standing behind the counter and over the open bins of silverware. The food was mediocre. My teriyaki chicken tasted like frozen chicken that had been warmed up with bottled teriyaki sauce poured over it. The "fried" rice they charge extra for wasn't fried at all (no egg in it). The food was luke warm. The egg drop soup was good. I don't know how this place has good reviews.
We’ve eaten at Tasty House many times and have always enjoyed our meals, but it had been over a year since our last visit. Ordered $90 in take out for the family last night and it was sooooo disappointing. We ordered three combo fried rice dinners and it was tasteless, zero flavor. Literally the worst fried rice I have ever had, Essentially tasted no different than just plain steamed rice. Also ordered the pork Katsu, it was dry and also flavorless. I feed it to my dogs it was so bad. The fifth item we ordered was the Mongolian beef and it was mah. Also ordered Eggrolls and spring rolls and they were fine. We will never go back, it was the biggest waste of money.
Had the Mongolian Beef, fried rice, crab ragoon and a drink. Beef was tender and seasoned well. Used the sauce from the beef to add flavor to the fried rice. Nice small place by Cabelas in Wichita.
The food is very tasty, fresh, and flavorful. Prefer hot and sour soup, Mongolian beef, Kong pao chicken, and vegetable deluxe with chicken. Recommend. The owners are from Asia so English is their second language. They try to manage their website but it may be difficult with language barrier. Also, it is difficult to hire help to clean tables.
Happened by this place a couple months ago and ate there and it was amazing....this is the 2nd time since then I have tried to go during their "open" hours and they are closed. I mean can't support if you never know when they are open. Understand not being able to be open all the time but update your hours if they have changed. I just don't want to drive over here for you to be closed when it says you're supposed to be open. One time I was like okay but now this is the second time so I'm assuming this is an often thing. At least post an explanation on the window or something. It Saturday at 3pm .... wish they were open to go have lunch.
