About Taste of China

Welcome to Taste of China, a Chinese restaurant located at 1745 Main St #12 in West Warwick, Rhode Island. As a part of the Chinese Restaurant category, Taste of China aims to provide Chinese cuisine to the local community. However, the recent customer reviews available online paint a concerning picture regarding the quality of food and service at this establishment.

Taste of China can be contacted at (401) 823-9220 or via their mobile phone at +1 401-823-9220. These contact numbers would typically be used for placing orders or making inquiries. The restaurant's location on Main Street in West Warwick suggests accessibility for residents and those in the surrounding area.

The customer feedback for Taste of China is overwhelmingly negative based on the provided reviews. One particularly scathing review details a highly unsatisfactory experience. The customer ordered chicken and broccoli, which they claimed did not even taste like chicken, and described the rice as soggy. This reviewer expressed feeling "disrespected" and believed they were overcharged for a substandard meal. They also mentioned being a long-time customer of "Taste of China" but indicated that this specific location was damaging the brand's reputation. The reviewer was so dissatisfied that they discarded the food, especially concerning given their pregnant wife was intended to eat it. The reviewer also noted a desire to return the food but was too upset ("heated") to drive the 25 minutes back to the restaurant. This detailed account raises serious concerns about food quality and consistency.

Another review echoed these negative sentiments, focusing on specific dishes. The customer reported that the "crab Rangoon" had no crab filling and featured dough that was "super thick and chewy." This indicates a potential issue with the quality of ingredients and the preparation of this appetizer. Furthermore, the "shrimp with lobster sauce" was described as "totally bland" with "no flavor at all" and appeared "really gross." This suggests significant problems with the taste and presentation of another entree. The same reviewer also found fault with the fried rice. Adding to the negative experience, this customer recounted an extremely rude and unprofessional interaction with the staff member who answered the phone, alleging that the employee was "extremely rude and snarky" and even hung up before the customer could finish their question. Based on this experience, this customer vowed never to return and recommended other local Chinese restaurants as superior alternatives.

Given the strong negative feedback in both reviews, it is difficult to ascertain positive features or aspects of Taste of China from this information. The reviews primarily highlight significant issues with food quality, taste, ingredients (or lack thereof), and customer service.

There is no information provided about the environment or ambiance of Taste of China. The reviews focus solely on the food and service received, both of which were described negatively. Therefore, it is not possible to offer any objective description of the restaurant's interior, cleanliness, or overall atmosphere based on the available data.

Similarly, details about the services offered are limited to the fact that they provide food for consumption, likely including takeout given the nature of the reviews (one customer took the food home). There is no mention of dine-in options, delivery services, or catering. The negative interaction with the phone staff suggests that the initial point of contact for service can be problematic.

In terms of features, based on the reviews, it is challenging to identify any positive attributes. The negative aspects highlighted include potentially misleading food descriptions (chicken that doesn't taste like chicken, crab Rangoon with no crab), poor food preparation (soggy rice, thick and chewy dough, bland and gross-looking dishes), and unprofessional customer service (rude and snarky phone interaction). These issues significantly outweigh any potential positive features that might be present but were not mentioned by these reviewers.

There is no promotional information available in the provided reviews. Customers are sharing their negative experiences, and no discounts, special offers, or promotions are mentioned.

For local users in West Warwick, RI, considering Taste of China, it is crucial to take into account the serious concerns raised in these recent customer reviews. The allegations of poor food quality, misrepresented ingredients, and rude customer service are significant red flags. If you are looking for a reliable and enjoyable Chinese dining experience, you might want to consider the alternative restaurants mentioned by one of the reviewers as being "much much better." Given the strong negative sentiments expressed, it would be prudent to exercise caution before choosing to order from or visit Taste of China.

In conclusion, the recent customer reviews for Taste of China in West Warwick, RI, paint a concerning picture of the restaurant's food quality and customer service. Allegations of substandard ingredients, poorly prepared dishes, and rude staff interactions suggest that potential customers might want to explore other options for Chinese cuisine in the area. The lack of any positive feedback in these recent reviews makes it difficult to recommend Taste of China based on the information available.

Horrible the chicken and broccoli don’t even taste like chicken. The rice is soggy. I feel so disrespected and like I just got robbed for 35 dollars I been going to taste of china for years but this place is absolutely giving the brand a bad name. My wife is pregnant and the food is in the trash. They smile in your face like they cool with you but really they laughing at you cause it probably ain’t even chicken I’m heated or I would have driven 25 minutes to bring it back. This is the husband leaving this message just for the record.

The crab Rangoon 🦀 had no crab in them plus the dough was super thick and chewy. The shrimp with lobster sauce was totally bland no flavor at all and it looked really gross. Same for the fried rice I called first and the girl that answered the phone was extremely rude and snarky and even hung up on me before I finished my question. I will never go back Khoo on cowesett or Wasabi on bald hill road is much much better.

This is not Chinese fried rice. Just because there a Chinese person cooking it and serving it, it doesn’t mean it’s the Chinese American Rice that we would consider Chinese food. This is nothing more than yellow rice mixed with onions, green onions, and been sprouts. They took the cheap route on this. No effort. Where is the soy sauce? I go back in and explain kindly and I’m given no solution and no explanation. If you own a Chinese restaurant, learn how to cook Chinese American food properly. This is not how you make shrimp fried rice. I could do a better jump and I’m Portuguese American. Thank you…That is all…
