About Tally-Ho Restaurant

Tally-Ho Restaurant, located at 156 E Main St, Richfield Springs, NY 13439, USA, is presented under the platform category of Chinese Restaurant. However, customer reviews indicate that Tally-Ho Restaurant is more of a local diner offering a range of American-style breakfast and potentially other dishes. You can contact them at (315) 858-0180 or +1 315-858-0180.

Customer experiences at Tally-Ho Restaurant appear to be varied. One reviewer reported a significantly negative experience, citing slow service ("Tally Slow"), long wait times for food, and issues with the quality of several dishes, including watery iced coffee, soapy coffee, undercooked eggs, and rubbery home fries. The only positive note from this review was the pleasantness of the waitresses, although they were reportedly too busy to check in frequently.

In contrast, another reviewer had a very positive experience, highlighting the "welcoming family-like space," "friendly service," and "delicious food at fair prices." This customer specifically praised the "perfectly dipped, browned, powder sugared, and fresh smelling" French toast and a flavorful "meat lovers omelette." They also noted the sense of community and the personalized greetings given to local patrons. While they enjoyed their breakfast so much they didn't try the pies (which are reportedly a highlight), they were impressed with the suggested sliced potatoes as a substitute for hash browns.

Overall, Tally-Ho Restaurant seems to be a local family-owned business with a strong sense of community. While one review indicates significant issues with service speed and food quality, another describes a delightful experience with generous portions of well-prepared breakfast items. If you are in the Richfield Springs area and looking for a local diner experience, Tally-Ho Restaurant might be worth a visit, especially if you are interested in their breakfast offerings and potentially their pies. However, it's important to be aware that experiences can differ.

People are very generous with their reviews. So we decided to give this place a try. No, thank you. The quickest thing to come out was the check. Tally Ho, more like Tally Slow. The hot chocolate came out with a box of crayons which makes sense bc the plates came out 40 mins later. The place just emptied out. The kids pancake platter consisted of one chocolate pancake with a side of sausage. That should have come out first. The ice coffee was so watered down and ice was melted by the time it got to the table. Should have just stuck with basics. The coffee tasted like soap with burnt lingering notes. I can see why the steak and eggs weren’t posted. The sunny eggs still had raw egg white surrounding the yoke. Let’s not talk about the steak. The toast was burnt but it was by far the best part. The home fries were rubbery and tasted like stale oil. At least the waitress were pleasant enough. But they were too busy to come around to check in on us.

There is something special about a local family owned business in a small town. Tally-Ho in Richfield Springs is able to turn back the clock with a welcoming family-like space offering friendly service and delicious food at fair prices. Having only heard good things about their food and especially their pies since moving into the area I finally got a chance to try it out. The waitress with a glowing smile played along and took my order - give me the two best breakfast dishes you have - and with a small assurance that I like everything and would eat anything, she went to work to put the order in. The French toast arrived with bacon and I had to ask what it was because I couldn't remember if I have ever been served six huge slices of what appeared to be perfectly dipped, browned, powder sugared, and fresh smelling happiness. I ate a few pieces and it hit the spot. The next plate I tried was full of a meat lovers omelette and toast. The meats were plentiful and had great flavors. The cheese, peppers, and mushrooms complimented the egg blanket it was all wrapped up in lovely. I ate until I was happy and debated on taking a slice of pie for the road, after all, it was breakfast time and I'd never eat pie so early in the day ;) As I gently watched the snow fall outside the large and clean window, I switched back to breakfast mode and thought some diner hash browns would be wonderful to take home and eat later with the leftovers. I asked for them and was informed they didn't have any. At first I was wondering if I called them by the wrong name but she quickly suggested their sliced potatoes. I can't recall the name but I thought she explained it as basically a baked potato sliced up with some seasoning. I waited until later in the day to try them and can confirm they too were wonderful and went great with the leftovers. Everything about this stop lived up to expectations and I loved that people walked in and were greeted by name and the sense of community was there. I hope to visit again but it's going to be hard to try the other dishes I could hear other patrons compliment because my breakfast was so good. Give it a try and tell me if I'm wrong.

The waitress was clearly concerned with something else that wasn't us. The food was good. The best part about it was that legal gun owners can come into this place.

The hot roast turkey open faced sandwich was good - particularly the gravy. No gluten free options.

Didnt have roast beef for Rueben, no pork for roast pork sandwich. Refused to serve breakfast at 11:35 full knowing they didn't have the products needed for lunch. My pickle taste like a cucumber dipped in dill juice.
