About Tak Shing Chinese Restaurant

Tak Shing Chinese Restaurant, located at 17709 Kenwood Trail in Lakeville, Minnesota, serves as a local establishment within the "Chinese Restaurant" platform category. This category typically offers a wide selection of Chinese-American dishes, including various meat, poultry, and vegetable preparations, along with rice and noodle options. Tak Shing Chinese Restaurant appears to cater primarily to takeout orders, although the possibility of dine-in service is not explicitly excluded by the provided reviews. The available customer feedback presents a somewhat polarized view, with one reviewer praising the food and service highly, while another expresses significant concerns about the price relative to the quality.

As a Chinese restaurant in Lakeville, MN, Tak Shing Chinese Restaurant aims to provide the local community with access to Chinese cuisine. The two contrasting reviews offer different perspectives on the value and quality offered. One review suggests that the restaurant might be considered "decent" due to a perceived lack of local competition, but criticizes its pricing as "horrendous" relative to the food quality, which is described as "OK.. at best." This reviewer provided a detailed breakdown of a large takeout order, highlighting the high cost for the quantity of food received compared to what might be expected from a food court.

In stark contrast, the second review offers an overwhelmingly positive account of their experience at Tak Shing Chinese Restaurant. This customer described the food as "soooooo good" and expressed delight in finally finding a good Chinese restaurant. They specifically noted that Tak Shing is a family-owned business, and they were warmly welcomed by the staff. The "Mom" who took their order was described as "absolutely hilarious" and "the sweetest person ever," who was helpful in explaining the menu and patient with their order. This positive interaction significantly enhanced the customer's overall experience.

The environment of Tak Shing Chinese Restaurant is not explicitly detailed in the reviews. However, the mention of a "Mom" taking orders and the description of it as a family-owned business suggests a potentially more intimate and personal setting compared to larger chain restaurants. The focus on takeout by one reviewer implies that the physical environment might be geared more towards order pickup rather than extensive dine-in seating. The positive reviewer's comments about the welcoming nature of the staff indicate a friendly and hospitable atmosphere, at least in the customer interaction areas.

In terms of services, Tak Shing Chinese Restaurant clearly offers takeout. The detailed order in one review confirms this service. The overwhelmingly positive review also highlights exceptional customer service, particularly from the person taking orders, who was described as helpful, patient, and welcoming. This suggests that customer interaction is a point of strength for Tak Shing. The speed of food preparation was also praised, with the food coming out "so quick" and tasting "soooo fresh," indicating efficient service in the kitchen as well.

The features of Tak Shing Chinese Restaurant, as perceived by the two reviewers, are quite different. The negative review focuses on the price point, suggesting that the cost is excessive for the quality and quantity of food provided. The reviewer's comparison to a food court, where they believe four times more food could be obtained for the same price, is a strong criticism of the value offered by Tak Shing. Specific dishes ordered included orange chicken, chicken lo mein, rice, and crab wontons, but no specific comments were made about their taste or quality, other than the overall assessment of "OK.. at best."

The positive review, on the other hand, raves about the food quality, describing it as "soooooo good" and "soooo fresh." The reviewer specifically recommends "combo letter R," which includes chicken and pork lo mein with a side of fried rice and cream cheese puffs. They noted that it was a "huge amount" and "super filling," directly contradicting the other reviewer's implication of small portions for a high price. The crab wontons were also part of the large order in the negative review, but no specific feedback on them was provided in that context, whereas the positive reviewer's overall satisfaction suggests they found all their dishes to be of high quality.

Currently, no specific promotional information for Tak Shing Chinese Restaurant is available in the provided customer reviews. Local users interested in potential specials or discounts are encouraged to contact the restaurant directly at (952) 898-1388 or +1 952-898-1388 to inquire about any current offers. Given the family-owned nature and the positive reviewer's experience, it might be worthwhile to ask about any signature dishes or specials that are popular with regular customers.

In conclusion, Tak Shing Chinese Restaurant in Lakeville, MN, presents a mixed picture based on the two available customer reviews. One reviewer found the quality to be just "OK" and the prices excessively high, especially when compared to the quantity of food received elsewhere. In contrast, another customer had an overwhelmingly positive experience, praising the delicious and fresh food, the generous portion sizes of the combo meal, and the exceptionally friendly and helpful service from the family owners. This stark difference in opinion suggests that individual experiences at Tak Shing might vary. Local users might want to consider trying some of the recommended dishes, such as the combo letter R (chicken and pork lo mein with fried rice and cream cheese puffs), to form their own opinion. The positive remarks about the friendly, family-owned atmosphere could also be a draw for those who value personal service. However, the concerns about pricing relative to quality raised by another reviewer should also be taken into consideration. Contacting the restaurant directly for menu details and any current promotions might help potential customers make a more informed decision.

Quality is OK.. at best but price is HORRENDOUS. It must be considered decent around here because there is little to no competition. 3 BOXES OF Orange Chicken 3 boxes of chicken Lo-Mein 3 boxes rice 2 orders (6ea) crab wonton (12oz can of SPRITE to show you size) $118.... you can get 4x more at a food court🤣 This is what Chinese takeout has come too...

Holly Molly this place is soooooo good!! We were craving Chinese but we can never find a good place. But we came along Tak Shing and it was so amazing from the start! This is a family owned business and everyone was so nice and welcoming the Mom who took our orders was absolutely hilarious and the sweetest person ever! She was super helpful on explaining what everything on the menu was and also super patient. The food came out so quick and tasted soooo fresh. I def recommend on getting the combo letter R wich is chicken and pork lo mein wich comes with a side of fried rice cream cheese puffs. It was a huge amount super filling and most definitely the best Chinese restaurant everywhere!!! I will be coming for as long as I live here and will be recommending to everyone :)

This is absolutely, hands down, the WORST Chinese food I have ever had. Bland, over cooked, just terrible. $20 gone, in the garbage.Do NOT recommend.

I like the beef fried rice and chicken egg rolls. Looks like their prices have went up again from some months ago. Not so affordable or worth at this price (same portion). Their Cashew Chicken was terrible. Cashews were stale tasting and soggy and the dish had lot of celery and hardly few pieces of chicken. No crunchiness or not even near the taste of the same item that I had in another restaurant, which led me to like the dish so much that I wanted to eat it again. Now nervous ordering this item from any restaurant wondering if it will be like the one that I got from Takshing.
