About Taiyou Shabu & Sushi

Taiyou Shabu & Sushi, located at 235a Quincy Ave, Quincy, MA 02169, USA, is an Asian restaurant offering both all-you-can-eat sushi and hotpot options, as well as meal takeaway services. While not exclusively a Chinese restaurant, it falls under the broader category of Asian cuisine.

According to customer reviews, the sushi is generally considered excellent for its price. The sashimi is described as fresh, and the sushi rolls are noted for not having the texture of cheap sushi, providing a good dining experience. The service is often mentioned as quite fast and accommodating, with sushi being served at a reasonable pace.

The hotpot experience receives mixed feedback. While one reviewer found the soup to be good, they noted that the meats were frozen and sometimes hard upon arrival. The variety of vegetables and seafood for the hotpot was considered good, but the sauce was mentioned as needing improvement.

A notable point raised by a reviewer is the occasional presence of mice running around in the restaurant. While this particular reviewer was not overly bothered, they acknowledged that it could be a concern for other customers.

Overall, Taiyou Shabu & Sushi is considered a good option, with the sushi being highlighted as better than some other local establishments for both takeout and dine-in. The all-you-can-eat sushi has been a consistently positive experience for some. The hotpot is described as adequate for a neighborhood spot but not exceptionally outstanding.

One of the few remaining all you can eat sushi and hotpot restaurants. The hotpot is kind of subpar, I think the soup is good but the meats are frozen and sometimes rock hard when they come out. The vegetables are good and the variety of seafood is good, but the sauce needs some work as it wasn't that good. The sushi is excellent for the price. The sashimi looks fresh, and the rolls don't have the texture of cheap sushi. It feels good here and I really enjoyed it. The service is quite fast and accommodating, and the sushi comes out at a reasonable pace. This would've been a 4 star review but I knocked it down one star because multiple times when I came here, I've seen mice running around. This doesn't bother me too much as I know how it is, but it may bother some people who don't like the idea.

This place is good. The sushi is better than some other places in the area, both takeout and dine-in. Have done the AYCE sushi several times and it's always good. Has the hotpot for the first time recently and it was fine, not over the top amazing but for a neighborhood hotpot place, it's just fine. I have brought my

I thought it was great especially for the price, we did have to wait for a little bit for our second round of sushi(which is understandable it was Saturday night at 630 the restaurant was packed), but the hot pot meats and veggies came out extremely fast, I wish there was a better selection for sauces but I also did not ask, I will come again!

I recommend this place if you can't decide what to eat for the night between sushi and hotpot. The hotpot soup is very tasty, but the sauce needs improvement. The meat, particularly the sirloin beef, is excellent. We did order the clams for hotpot. It has a very strong smell. The sushi is outstanding considering the price, and the salmon is fresh. Overall, it's a great place for a hotpot and sushi buffet.

Wow! This is my new favorite restaurant. The staff is so attentive and the food is absolutely delicious. Suggestion: get the house broth! It's unique and fantastic. Best lunch ever!! Also, the sashimi lunch special is an incredible deal. Do yourself a favor and don't miss out!
