About Taipei Express

Located at 731 Providence Rd in Charlotte, NC, Taipei Express serves as a Chinese restaurant catering to the local community. As a Chinese restaurant, Taipei Express offers a variety of familiar Chinese dishes, primarily focusing on providing convenient options for takeout and potentially delivery, although specific details about delivery services are not available in the provided reviews.

Information regarding the dine-in environment of Taipei Express is limited based on the available customer reviews. Neither review provides details about the restaurant's ambiance, decor, or seating arrangements. Therefore, an objective description of the environment cannot be provided based solely on this information. Local users interested in dining in may need to contact the restaurant directly for more details.

The primary service highlighted in the reviews is takeout. Customers have placed orders for pickup, indicating that this is a readily available option. The presence of phone numbers, (704) 334-2288 and +1 704-334-2288, allows customers to easily place their orders and make inquiries. While one review suggests a discrepancy in an order (missing spring rolls), the overall service aspect beyond order fulfillment is not extensively commented upon.

Customer experiences with the food at Taipei Express appear to be somewhat mixed. One customer expressed dissatisfaction with their order of beef with vegetables and spring rolls. They reported that the portion size of the beef with vegetables was "super small" for the price of almost $20, deeming it not worth the value. Additionally, they stated that they received only one spring roll instead of the five they believed they had ordered, leaving them feeling unsatisfied. This review raises concerns about portion sizes for certain dishes and order accuracy.

In contrast, another customer had a more positive experience, stating that Taipei Express is the "best Chinese spot I’ve been in since I moved here from NY." This reviewer specifically praised the generous portion sizes, noting that an order was enough for both dinner and lunch the next day, suggesting a "bang for your buck." They found the General Tso's chicken to be good, although they would have preferred it spicier, noting it had just a "kick" rather than significant heat. The lo mein was described as "flavorful and not salty," which was appreciated. The rice was considered "mild in flavor" but not oily, which was seen as a positive.

However, this same reviewer expressed significant disappointment with the wonton soup, mentioning that it only contained "2 small wontons" with mostly broth. This was a major drawback for them, as they were seeking a place that offers more wontons in their soup. Despite this, they concluded that overall, the food was "delicious" and the portion sizes offered good value, with the exception of the wonton soup.

Based on these reviews, a notable feature of Taipei Express seems to be the potentially large portion sizes for some of their main dishes, as highlighted by one customer's positive experience. This could be a significant draw for customers looking for value and ample servings. Another potential feature is the flavor profile of certain dishes, such as the lo mein being described as flavorful and not overly salty. However, consistency in portion sizes and the composition of certain dishes, like the wonton soup, appear to be areas where customer experiences differ.

Currently, there is no specific promotional information available for Taipei Express based on these reviews. Local users interested in any special offers, discounts, or new menu items are encouraged to contact the restaurant directly using the provided phone numbers. Inquiring about daily specials or any ongoing promotions might provide additional value for potential customers.

In conclusion, Taipei Express on Providence Rd in Charlotte offers Chinese cuisine with a focus on takeout. Customer reviews indicate potentially generous portion sizes for some main dishes, with the lo mein and General Tso's chicken receiving positive mentions for flavor, although one customer desired more spice in the latter. However, there are also concerns raised about the portion size and value of certain items like the beef with vegetables and the very limited number of wontons in the wonton soup. Order accuracy was also mentioned as a potential issue. Local users may want to consider these varying experiences when deciding to order from Taipei Express and might benefit from clarifying portion sizes and the contents of specific dishes when placing their orders.

I went to buy Chinese food beef with vegetables and rolled spring when I arrived it was a super small pot. And according to them they told me that it was the biggest almost $20 dollars for that pot that I see it too small for the value and the other thing that they put me a single rolled and I asked 5 hundred short I came and the table was left wanting to continue eating. I remain attentive if any attention

So far best Chinese spot I’ve been in since I moved here from NY. So for starters me and my hubby can eat - we enjoy a good portion. We definitely underestimated how big their portions were- it was enough for dinner and lunch the next day! General chicken is good but I would prefer it spicier- just has a kick to it not really spicy Lo mein was flavorful and not salty - just right! Rice was mild in flavor but not bad or oily which is good. The biggest disappointment was the wonton soup. It only brought 2 small wontons all you get is broth. Was super sad about that as I cant find any places here that actually gives more wontons! Other than that you will def get a bang for your buck and food is delicious!

It is always a pleasure to obtain a meal from here! Staff is always so welcoming, whether via phone or in person. Tonight, I'm having Green Beans, Chicken in garlic sauce, complimented with brown rice. I also added broccoli & water chestnuts to it, medium spices. Many thanks again for such a lovely meal.

Family and I had an event to attend up the street from Queens college and our daughter was thinking Chinese. Best Crab Rangoon we've ever had hands down! Everything was excellent, the Crsipy Scallion Chicken was just awesome! The tip rating here is accurate.

The scallion chicken used to be great. The last three orders have been horrible. The chicken is just so hard to chew. Not sure what the deal is lately.
