About Taipei Chinese Kitchen (Giant)

Taipei Chinese Kitchen (Giant) is a Chinese restaurant located at 255S S Spring Garden St in Carlisle, Pennsylvania (zip code 17013). Operating under the platform category of "Chinese Restaurant," Taipei Chinese Kitchen aims to provide Chinese cuisine to the local community and shoppers in the Carlisle area. Situated inside a Giant Food Store, as indicated by its name and a customer review, it can be contacted at the phone number (717) 612-0155 or the mobile number +1 717-612-0155 for inquiries or to place orders.

The environment of Taipei Chinese Kitchen (Giant) is significantly defined by its location within a supermarket. A customer explicitly mentioned, "Btw, they are inside Giant and only serve for take out." This indicates that it is not a traditional sit-down restaurant but rather a takeout counter or kiosk located within the Giant Food Store. As such, there would likely be no dedicated dining area. The ambiance would be that of a food service section within a grocery store, emphasizing efficiency and convenience for customers looking to grab a meal while shopping or on the go. The focus would be on order preparation and pickup rather than a traditional restaurant dining experience.

In terms of services, Taipei Chinese Kitchen (Giant) primarily offers takeout. The review clearly states that they "only serve for take out." This means customers can place their orders at the counter and take their food to be enjoyed elsewhere. While delivery service is not mentioned, it is less common for establishments located within grocery stores to offer this, as their primary customer base is likely the store's shoppers. The reviews provide mixed feedback on the speed of service. One customer found the service to be "very friendly and quick," while another experienced a significant wait time of "like 20mins" on their first visit, contrasting with a very short "2 mins" wait on their second visit. This suggests that the speed of service might vary depending on the time or day.

Features of Taipei Chinese Kitchen (Giant) include aspects of its service, food quantity, and food quality, which have received varied feedback. On the positive side, one customer described the service as "very friendly." The quantity of food was also noted as "good," with the reviewer feeling they received a substantial amount for their money ("about 10 pounds of food for $40"). Another customer, who chose this location as an alternative to a missing Panda Express, found the food to be "good" overall and noted that the establishment seemed busy, suggesting a degree of popularity. They also appreciated that the food was "not too oily" compared to other Chinese places they had visited.

However, a significant concern raised by one customer was the lack of flavor in the food. They described the flavor as "extremely bland," even in a dish that was supposed to be spicy ("spicy tofu dish wouldn’t be considered spicy by an old white woman in New Zealand"). The stir-fry rice was also described as "pretty bland." This feedback indicates a potential issue with the seasoning and flavor profiles of some of their dishes, which could be a drawback for customers seeking more robust tastes.

Another feature mentioned by a reviewer was the price, which they found "abut pricey as a take out." This suggests that while the quantity of food might be good, the cost relative to other takeout options in the area might be higher. This is an important consideration for budget-conscious customers.

Currently, there is no specific promotional information mentioned in the provided reviews. It is common for food establishments, especially those within larger retail spaces, to offer daily specials or combo deals. To find out if Taipei Chinese Kitchen (Giant) is currently running any promotions, customers would need to check for signage at their counter within the Giant Food Store or inquire directly with the staff.

In conclusion, Taipei Chinese Kitchen (Giant) in Carlisle, PA, is a Chinese takeout counter located inside the Giant Food Store. It is characterized by friendly service and generous food portions. While one customer found the food to be generally good and not too oily, another experienced a significant lack of flavor, even in supposedly spicy dishes, and noted that the prices were a bit high for takeout. The speed of service appears to be variable. For those looking for a convenient takeout option while shopping at Giant, Taipei Chinese Kitchen offers a substantial quantity of food with friendly service, but potential customers should be aware of the reported issues with blandness in some dishes and the potentially higher price point for takeout. To learn about their full menu and any current promotions, visiting their counter inside the Giant Food Store or contacting them directly might be necessary.

The service was very friendly and quick. The amount of food was good. I think for $40 I walked out with about 10 pounds of food. The flavor was extremely bland. Even the spicy tofu dish wouldn’t be considered spicy by an old white woman in New Zealand. The stirfry rice was also pretty bland.

Can’t find a Panda Express in town that’s why I’m here. To my surprise, Food is good and they stayed busy. Came 2 times and 2’d time like 2 mins to get food , 1st time was like 20mins holy smoke. I think the food is good in general, not too oily as other Chinese places I been tho. Def a 5* in this small town for me. Btw, they are inside Giant and only serve for take out. So , abut pricey as a take out.

This Giant in Carlisle, PA has NO RIGHT to have such good Chinese food takeout. It’s not authentic, it’s Americanized and it’s good. The atmosphere is a grocery store. Good portion size. Highly recommend the Hot & Sour soup! We’ve been many times and still think about it after moving away.

I'm a fan of really good lo-mein, it's gotta have a good noodle-to-meat and veggies ratio. And their lo-mein is in perfect proportions and it's delicious!
