About Taipei Chinese Kitchen
Taipei Chinese Kitchen is a Chinese restaurant conveniently situated inside the Giant Supermarket at 4510 Marketplace Way, Enola, PA 17025. As a part of the Chinese Restaurant category, Taipei Chinese Kitchen caters to local users seeking readily available Americanized Chinese cuisine. Operating as one of several counters within the supermarket's prepared food department ("Meals & Sides"), it offers a quick and easy option for those looking for familiar Chinese-American dishes.
The environment of Taipei Chinese Kitchen is somewhat unique, as it is not a standalone restaurant but rather a stall within a larger supermarket. Customers have noted that it doesn't particularly stand out as a separate establishment. Instead, it functions as one of the food counters behind the prepared food section. This setup offers the convenience of being able to order food on the spot, similar to a Panda Express, with cooked dishes displayed under the counter for immediate selection. This grab-and-go style is ideal for shoppers already at the Giant Supermarket who wish to pick up a quick meal.
Based on customer reviews, the service at Taipei Chinese Kitchen appears to have both positive and negative aspects. One customer reported a friendly interaction with the staff, who were willing to chat and even offered complimentary Chinese donuts. This suggests that, at times, the staff can be welcoming and provide a pleasant experience. The same reviewer also highlighted the convenience of the location. However, another customer had a significantly less positive experience, citing a staff member who was inattentive due to being on a phone call via earbuds while taking orders. This led to a feeling of discomfort and a negative first impression, further exacerbated by a poorly prepared dish. This contrasting feedback indicates a potential inconsistency in service quality, with some interactions being friendly and others falling short of expectations regarding attentiveness and professionalism.
The primary feature of Taipei Chinese Kitchen, based on the menu mentioned in a review, is its offering of Americanized Chinese dishes. This includes familiar favorites such as fried rice and lo mein, which were specifically requested by one customer's son. While one reviewer initially hoped for more authentic USese cuisine due to the name "Taipei," they found the menu to consist mainly of standard American-Chinese fare, similar to what is commonly found in the region. However, upon reviewing a physical menu, the customer did note the presence of a couple of less typical dishes, hinting at the possibility of more authentic options being available. This suggests that while the main offerings cater to the Americanized palate, there might be some hidden gems for those seeking a more genuine taste.
In terms of food quality, the reviews present mixed opinions. One customer found the food to be "on par with what I expected for American Chinese dishes," suggesting an average quality within that category. However, they also noted that the serving sizes were rather generous, which they considered a positive aspect in terms of value. On the other hand, another customer reported a very negative experience with the bourbon chicken, describing it as so dry that it was inedible. This significant discrepancy in feedback indicates potential inconsistencies in food preparation or the quality of different dishes on the menu. It highlights the importance of considering individual dish experiences when evaluating the overall food quality at Taipei Chinese Kitchen.
Regarding promotional information, one notable aspect mentioned by a customer was the offering of complimentary Chinese donuts. This small gesture of goodwill contributed to a more positive overall impression for that particular reviewer. Beyond this, no other specific promotions were mentioned in the provided text. Local users interested in any ongoing specials or promotions are advised to inquire directly at the counter within the Giant Supermarket or by calling the provided phone number.
In summary, Taipei Chinese Kitchen offers a convenient option for local users in Enola, PA, looking for Americanized Chinese food within the Giant Supermarket. Its environment is that of a counter within a supermarket's prepared food section, offering quick service. Customer service experiences appear to vary, with some reporting friendly interactions and others encountering inattentiveness. The main feature of the menu is standard American-Chinese cuisine, with generous portion sizes being a noted positive. However, food quality seems to be inconsistent, with one dish receiving a very negative review while others were considered average. The offering of complimentary Chinese donuts was a small but appreciated gesture for one customer. For local residents seeking a convenient and familiar Chinese-American meal while shopping at Giant, Taipei Chinese Kitchen provides an accessible option. However, potential customers should be aware of the mixed reviews regarding service and food quality and might want to inquire about specific dishes before ordering.

Customer Reviews
It continues to puzzle me why this area is so lacking good Chinese food. I mean can we have 10% of what we get in Edison NJ or 1% from Chinatown? By and large, we get only Americanized Chinese food here. When I saw "Taipei" in this name, I was so excited because I normally associate "Taipei" with Taiwanese cuisine, nothing to do with Americanized Chinese food. Then I saw it's within the Giant Supermarket so my hope dropped. I read the online menu. Yep, all Americanized dishes. Nevertheless, I made an order anyway because my son was really fussing for fried rice and lo mein. Upon further research, it turns out this is only 1 of the 5 locations in the Harrisburg area, plus 4 more further away. I found the stall inside Giant. It doesn't really stand out as a separate establishment but one of the 3 counters behind the prepared food department ("Meals & Sides") within the supermarket. There are cooked dishes displayed under the counter just like Panda Express. So technically, you don't have to order online but just order on the spot and get your food right away. I had an opportunity to chat with the staff as it wasn't busy at the time. They were quite friendly and even offered me a couple of complimentary Chinese donuts. The food was on par with what I expected for American Chinese dishes, but the serving size was rather generous. For that (the value), the friendliness of its staff, the convenience of its location, and last but not least -- the free donuts, I added one star to my rating. I did grab a copy of their menu and spotted 2 less typical dishes (potentially more authentic kind) that I might want to give a try. So there will be future visits.
Went there for the first time Saturday. The lady take our order was talking on her phone through her ear buds. We had to talk so loud for her to hear us the guys stopped working and watched us while we were there. Made us feel uncomfortable but they said nothing to her about talking on her phone while waiting on customers. The bourbon chicken we got was so dry we couldn't eat it. Please make them aware of how important customer service is. Not a good first experience!
Food is delicious. Haven't ordered anything I don't love.
I'll admit that I was VERY skeptical. Chinese takeout inside a grocery store? It was the best Chinese we've had to date in the area. We will definitely be back.
Just did first takeout at Taipei kitchen in Mechanicsburg. Food is delicious. We got the bourbon chicken, broccoli and garlic sauce and pork fried rice. Each one was really flavorful and well prepared. Wishing them the best for a long business, life and Mechanicsburg.
