About Taigu

Welcome to Taigu, a distinguished establishment in the Chinese Restaurant category, located at 7610 Elmwood Ave in Middleton, Wisconsin. Based on enthusiastic customer reviews, Taigu offers a delightful dining experience characterized by delicious food, a pleasant ambiance, and commendable service. Notably, Taigu seems to specialize in or at least be highly regarded for its hand-pulled noodles, a significant draw for those seeking authentic and skillfully prepared noodle dishes.

One of the first things that stands out from customer feedback is the positive impression of Taigu's new location. Reviewers describe the atmosphere inside as "lovely" and highlight the convenience of "ample parking" available outside. This suggests that the restaurant has made an effort to create a welcoming and accessible environment for its patrons, whether they are dining in or picking up an order. A comfortable and aesthetically pleasing interior can significantly enhance the overall dining experience, making Taigu a place where customers feel at ease.

The service at Taigu is consistently praised for its efficiency. One customer specifically mentioned a remarkably quick carryout experience, with their order being ready in an estimated 5-7 minutes. Such prompt service is a significant advantage for those with time constraints or those preferring to enjoy their meal at home. This efficiency in handling carryout orders suggests a well-organized and attentive staff.

A notable feature of Taigu's menu is the availability of "many clearly labeled vegetarian options." This caters to a growing segment of the population seeking plant-based meals and demonstrates an inclusivity that is appreciated by vegetarian diners. The clear labeling makes it easy for vegetarians to navigate the menu and choose dishes that align with their dietary preferences, enhancing their overall experience at the restaurant.

One reviewer, who found the food "delicious as always," offered a valuable tip for enhancing the already enjoyable dishes: adding extra vegetables for a nominal $3 charge. They regretted not opting for this addition and suggested it as a way to make the meal even more flavorful and substantial. This implies that Taigu already includes a good amount of vegetables in their standard dishes, and the option to add more provides flexibility for customers to customize their meals according to their preferences.

The appeal of Taigu extends beyond its local neighborhood. One enthusiastic customer, who does not live on the same side of town, explicitly stated their willingness to make the trip specifically to dine at Taigu, underscoring the high quality and desirability of the food and overall experience. This kind of dedication from a customer who goes out of their way to visit the restaurant speaks volumes about the positive impression Taigu leaves on its patrons.

For those who appreciate the artistry of hand-pulled noodles, Taigu appears to be a standout destination, especially for those who may not have access to such authentic preparations locally. One reviewer, who was visiting Madison for work and is a "big fan of hand-pulled noodles," expressed their thrill at finding this option at Taigu. The restaurant not only met but exceeded their expectations. This suggests that Taigu possesses a particular skill and dedication to crafting high-quality hand-pulled noodles that are both fresh and tasty, making it a must-try for noodle enthusiasts.

Further enhancing the positive experience, the same reviewer who raved about the hand-pulled noodles also commented on the cleanliness and beautiful decoration of the restaurant. A clean and well-decorated environment contributes significantly to the overall ambiance and enjoyment of dining in. The fact that this customer was so impressed that they returned for a second dinner before leaving town is a strong testament to the consistent quality of food and service at Taigu.

Adding a personal touch to the dining experience, the reviewer also mentioned meeting the owner, who was described as "very grateful" for their business. This interaction suggests a welcoming and appreciative attitude from the management, which can create a positive and memorable experience for customers. Such personal engagement can foster customer loyalty and a sense of connection with the restaurant.

In summary, Taigu in Middleton, WI, stands out as a Chinese restaurant that offers a combination of delicious food, particularly its highly praised hand-pulled noodles, a lovely and clean atmosphere, ample parking for convenience, and quick and friendly service. The availability of clearly labeled vegetarian options caters to a diverse clientele. The recommendation to add extra vegetables for a small charge suggests a willingness to customize dishes to enhance the dining experience. The positive reviews, including one from a dedicated customer willing to travel across town and another who returned multiple times during a visit, highlight the consistent quality and appeal of Taigu. The mention of a grateful owner further adds to the positive impression of a restaurant that values its customers.

While no specific promotional information such as discounts or special offers was mentioned in the provided reviews, the consistently positive feedback regarding the food quality, atmosphere, and service suggests that Taigu's primary appeal lies in the overall excellence of its offering. For those in Middleton and the surrounding areas seeking an authentic Chinese dining experience, especially if you are a fan of hand-pulled noodles or appreciate a restaurant with a pleasant ambiance and attentive service, Taigu at 7610 Elmwood Ave is highly recommended based on the overwhelmingly positive sentiments expressed by its customers.

The food is delicious, as always, and the new location is great. Lovely atmosphere inside, and ample parking outside. The service was quick! I ordered carryout, and only waited about 5-7 minutes, I'd say. Many clearly labeled vegetarian options. I would recommend adding extra veggies, a $3 option, for even more deliciousness! (I didn't do this and wished I had.) I don't live on this side of town but will happily make the trip for Taigu!

I’m a big fan of hand-pulled noodles and can’t get them locally where I live so I was thrilled to see an option when visiting Madison for work. Taigu delivered on all expectations and more. The restaurant is very clean and beautifully decorated! Met the owner who was very grateful for our business. It’s so good I had to come back a second time for dinner before I skipped town. Great experience, I hope I end up back in Madison again so I can enjoy the fresh and tasty food at Taigu!

Loved the noodles I got, but i asked for extra chicken and barely got a regular amount. Paid 4 dollars for it. Id say overpriced for a pile of noodles with a couple pieces of chicken for 25 dollars!!!. After waiting inside for 20 minutes after driving an initial 25, order came out after standing and waiting.Opened box with spring rolls right away, and they were cold. I also ordered 6 on the app, only got 4.Drove halfway home before eating, and the noodles were cold as well . I have had previously good experiences, so i am disappointed in this.

My sis and I have been all over Madison and outlying areas looking for good authentic Chinese food. Taigu’s wonton soup is the closest we have found to Hong Kong wonton and it is DELICIOUS. The soup is as good as my dad’s. We have tried the spicy beef noodles with pickled mustard cabbage - OMG. We have yet to try the cat ears but that is next. The portions are surprisingly generous and the flavors are excellent.

I came in around lunch time (11:45am) and was seated right away. The place had customers but wasn’t too crowded. I ordered the four colored vegetable cat ear noodles with a hot green tea. The servings were huge and the food was delicious. The lunch time rush started to come in while I ate but the staff were still attentive and friendly. I recommend the cat ear noodles for any dish - they were chewy and delicious!! I brought some left overs home and they were just as good the next day for a meal.
