About Tai Xi Hot Pot

Tai Xi Hot Pot, located at 64 Billings Rd, Quincy, MA 02171, USA, is a Chinese restaurant offering a variety of dining options, including hot pot and a selection of entrees. They also feature boba drinks. You can contact them at (617) 481-5666 or +1 617-481-5666.

According to one review, the restaurant is described as nice and cozy, with fresh food and great boba drinks. The reviewer mentioned enjoying the melon boba, while their daughter appreciated the taro milk boba. They also noted that the owner personally made their drinks, explained the ordering process, and recommended dishes. The reviewer found the food delicious, the service fast, and the environment clean.

However, another recent review shared a different experience regarding the restaurant's policies. A customer with a dinner reservation for five, including three young children with seafood allergies, reported being told upon arrival that they could only order hot pot or from a special menu. The restaurant allegedly refused to allow ordering from the regular menu for the children due to their allergies making hot pot unsuitable. The reviewer, a self-described regular customer, stated that this was a change in policy and that they had not encountered this issue during a lunch visit three days prior when the female owner was present. The male owner reportedly did not address the concern.

Based on these reviews, Tai Xi Hot Pot offers a diverse menu with hot pot, entrees, and boba drinks in a cozy and clean environment, with at least one customer praising the owner's helpfulness and the quality of the food and drinks. However, another customer experienced a rigid policy regarding menu options for children with allergies, indicating a potential inconsistency in service or policy enforcement.

I made a dinner reservation for five people, including my three young kids—my 3-year-old daughter and two sons under 9. When we sat down, we were told we couldn't order from the regular menu and had to choose hotpot or a special menu. I explained my kids have seafood allergies and can't eat hotpot, so I wanted to order regular menu items for them, but they refused. I'm a regular customer and never had issues before. I spoke to the male owner, mentioning there's no problem when his wife is around, but he didn't seem to care and said they just changed the policy, even though I was there for lunch three days ago without any issues.

The food is great, but the meat is a little too thin. Broth is good, but can get expensive, since they charge for the broth. Pork slices appear to get thinner and thinner as you order. Service was great, but they can be forgetful of your orders. Definitely a must try place.

Food is pretty good but the service can be kinda slow. There are a lot of options for the all-you-can-eat hotpot including several beef options, lamb, chicken, and pork. There's also shrimp (tasted frozen), juicy clams, mussels, and fish paste. There were plenty of vegetarian options including lots of tofu, mushrooms, and leafy greens. In terms of service, they are friendly but sometimes forgetful. The kitchen can be kinda slow to get things out which is an issue when there's a 90 minute time limit. They didn't seem to enforce that too rigidly when I was there but if they did, the speed of service would be a bigger issue.

the meal was delicioussss we didn’t expect much because we randomly pick it for out dinner, but turn out the hot pot is way better than my expectation. tomyum broth is top-notch, it has the closest flavor as original tomyum soup I had in thailand. coconut chicken broth is light but rich, that also hits my appetite. food is fresh, fast prepared, specially mala beef is really impressive sauce counter is fullfilled, clean and clear; the room is clean and hygiene comfortable and great time to have the hotpot here definitely come back
