About Tai Pan Dim Sum
Welcome to Tai Pan Dim Sum, a fast food establishment located at 39486 Fremont Blvd in Fremont, California. Operating within the Chinese Restaurant category, Tai Pan Dim Sum focuses on providing a selection of dim sum dishes and other offerings primarily for customers seeking convenient to-go options. Situated in Fremont, a vibrant part of the Bay Area, it caters to individuals looking for quick and tasty Chinese fare.
Based on recent customer reviews, Tai Pan Dim Sum offers "delicious dim sum for to-go only." This explicitly states that the restaurant currently operates solely on a takeout basis, meaning there is likely no dine-in service available. Local users looking for a place to quickly grab dim sum to enjoy elsewhere will find this information particularly relevant.
One long-time customer expressed a unique perspective, stating, "As an old customer, I really hope they could raise the price. You feel like it’s year 2017 here." This comment suggests that the pricing at Tai Pan Dim Sum might have remained relatively stable over time, potentially offering value compared to current market prices. However, this is merely a sentiment from one individual and should be considered alongside other feedback.
This same reviewer offered specific recommendations for dishes, highlighting "any steam cooked dim sum" as a reliable choice. Steamed dim sum is a classic and often highly regarded category within dim sum cuisine, known for its delicate flavors and textures. This recommendation suggests that Tai Pan Dim Sum excels in preparing these traditional items.
The reviewer also recommended the "two BBQ bento box" and specifically advised an upgrade to "Fried rice noodles," emphasizing, "trust me, worth it." This indicates that the BBQ bento box is a popular item, and the option to upgrade the accompanying noodles to fried rice noodles is considered a worthwhile enhancement to the meal. This provides valuable insight into potential customer favorites and suggested customizations.
A practical piece of information shared by the reviewer is that "yes, they accept credit cards!" This is a crucial detail for many customers and confirms the available payment methods at Tai Pan Dim Sum.
However, not all recent feedback has been entirely positive. Another customer shared a contrasting experience, stating, "I used to love eating here. Unfortunately now they give you very little and the cost has gone up." This indicates a potential shift in portion sizes and pricing, leading to a perceived imbalance between the two. This customer, while acknowledging that "the food is still delicious," no longer recommends Tai Pan Dim Sum due to this issue.
This reviewer further suggested exploring "someplace else where the price and amount is fair," pointing out that there are "Plenty of Chinese options with cheaper prices for the food you are given." This feedback raises a concern about the value proposition at Tai Pan Dim Sum compared to other Chinese fast food or dim sum establishments in the area.
Considering the conflicting recent reviews, it appears that while Tai Pan Dim Sum may still offer tasty food, particularly its steamed dim sum and potentially the BBQ bento box with fried rice noodles, there are concerns regarding portion sizes relative to the price. Long-time customers might have a different perception compared to more recent patrons who have noticed a change.
Regarding the environment, since Tai Pan Dim Sum is described as "for to-go only," there is likely no significant dine-in area to consider. The focus is on efficient preparation and packaging of food for takeaway. Customers can likely expect a functional space designed for order placement and pickup.
In terms of services, the primary service offered is the preparation of food for takeout. The acceptance of credit cards adds convenience for customers. The availability of phone numbers ((510) 739-1868 and +1 510-739-1868) suggests that customers can place orders ahead of time for pickup, potentially saving time and ensuring their desired items are available.
Features of Tai Pan Dim Sum, based on the reviews, include its specialization in dim sum, particularly steamed varieties. The BBQ bento box with the option to upgrade to fried rice noodles appears to be another notable offering. The restaurant's long-standing presence, as indicated by the "old customer" comment, suggests a history within the local community.
Currently, there is no specific promotional information available in the provided text. Local users interested in any special offers or discounts would need to contact Tai Pan Dim Sum directly via phone.
In conclusion, Tai Pan Dim Sum in Fremont presents itself as a fast food Chinese restaurant specializing in dim sum for to-go orders. While some long-time customers appreciate its consistent pricing and recommend specific items like steamed dim sum and the BBQ bento box with fried rice noodles, more recent feedback indicates potential concerns about reduced portion sizes relative to the cost. Local users seeking convenient dim sum for takeout should consider these recent perspectives when making their decision. Contacting the restaurant directly for current pricing and any potential promotions is recommended.

Delicious dim sum for to-go only. As an old customer, I really hope they could raise the price. You feel like it’s year 2017 here. I recommend any steam cooked dim sum, two BBQ bento box ( upgrade to Fried rice noodles, trust me, worth it). And yes, they accept credit cards!
I used to love eating here. Unfortunately now they give you very little and the cost has gone up. The food is still delicious but the amount and price are imbalanced. I recommend going someplace else where the price and amount is fair. Plenty of Chinese options with cheaper prices for the food you are given.
Many varieties of Chinese takeout foods. Prices have increased a bit but still reasonable. Service is friendly and good.
Food/Taste/Flavor: 3/5 - Daily special with fried rice, BBQ pork, broccoli beef, and kung pao chicken. The fried rice was simple but good. The BBQ pork that was freshly cut was pretty dry and the sauce added seemed to soak into the rice itself rather than stay with the protein. The broccoli beef was nicely cooked with the broccoli being tender and the beef with a slight bite still. The kung pao chicken was EXTREMELY salty Shu mai was decent. While it's only 3 pieces, they are pretty big pieces Ambience: 2/5 - there was water dripping in the middle of the store with a bucket to catch with dirty footprints everywhere. Definitely older store and it feels like it could use a deep clean Service: 5/5 - lady was really nice and friendly. The pricing was a bit confusing since there's extra charges for certain meats and slightly different prices based on which menu you look at Value for price: 4/5 - decent price even with the extra charge for BBQ pork. We did go closer to the end of the day so it does seem some of the items have been sitting there longer which may have affected the taste/texture of some of the items
Food didn’t taste good, very salty and full of soy sauce. I recommend Panda Express over their express menu.
