About Tai Fai

Tai Fai is a restaurant located at 8505 W Nine Mile Rd in Oak Park, Michigan. You can contact them at (248) 336-9622 or +1 248-336-9622. Based on customer reviews, the restaurant seems to offer a menu that includes both Chinese and Korean dishes, leading to varied experiences.

One customer who tried three dishes provided specific feedback on each. The veggie lo mein was described as excessively liquidy, resembling a noodle soup and requiring extensive wrapping for takeaway. The sesame chicken with fried rice was reported to have okay chicken, but the fried rice tasted somewhat old. The standout dish for this reviewer was the baked avocado, which was considered the highlight of the meal. This reviewer concluded that while the food might look appealing, the actual taste did not entirely live up to expectations.

Interestingly, another review described Tai Fai as a "really simple Korean restaurant" with a small but excellent menu. This customer was highly impressed, ordering five dishes and finding them all great. They specifically mentioned the generous service of miso soup (five bowls provided when only one was ordered) and the exceptionally fast and attentive service. The staff was noted for being proactive in clearing plates. This reviewer indicated that Tai Fai might become their new go-to spot for easy date nights.

Given these contrasting reviews, Tai Fai appears to be a restaurant with a diverse offering that might include both Chinese and Korean cuisine. While one experience highlighted issues with specific Chinese dishes, another praised the Korean food and service. Local users in Singapore considering visiting Tai Fai might want to take these differing opinions into account, particularly noting the positive feedback regarding the Korean menu and the fast service.

I’ve only been here once and tried three dishes, so my review is based solely on those. I ordered the veggie lo mein, and I’m not sure why they left so much liquid in the box—I couldn’t tell if I ordered noodles or noodle soup. They had to wrap it four times in saran wrap, and I’m not joking—I wish I had taken a photo before unwrapping it. My boyfriend got the sesame chicken with fried rice. The fried rice tasted a bit old, but everything else was okay. The best thing was the baked avocado—definitely the highlight of the meal. This is one of those places where the food looks great, but looks can be deceiving.

This is a really simple Korean restaurant. The menu is small but everything on it was really really good. We just stopped in to check it out and maybe split something small. It all looked good so we ordered 5 dishes and all were great. We ordered 1 miso soup and they brought out 5. Service was also extremely fast and on top of everything. My husband passed out a plate of dumplings and before he could find a spot to set the empty plate on the table they were already there to clear it. This might be our new easy go to date night.

This is my go-to place for quick dense asian food. I love their tofu sizzling green bean and crispy spicy chicken. I don't know what culture that type of fried meat comes from but whatever it is got it RIGHT, I can't recommend it enough and to me it overshadows the sushi on the menu. Never had any problems with the service too.

My sushi was made to order, I requested non spicy and it was so delicious and fresh. The service was fast and the staff was really attentive. I will definitely be back soon.

Very okay. The food was all right, but my regular place is way better. Tuna tasted off, and I scraped it off of my Red Dragon roll. The crunch roll was okay, and honestly, they both tasted like cream cheese. Like half the rolls had cream cheese in them. The rolls were cut into massive pieces. There's no way I would've been able to eat a piece in one bite, so everything fell apart. Soy sauce smelled weird, so I used my own. Egg roll was cabbage and some very dry chicken, didn't taste like anything, really. Honestly, though, I'd never come back here mostly because of the experience. Don't tell me the wait will be 30 mins when it'll be over an hour. I got there after 30 mins, and was told they were working on it. There were like 10-15 people crammed into that small lobby where I waited an extra 45 mins on top of the original 30, and it was freezing the whole time. Every time I asked how much longer, I was told they're "working on it." I ordered 2 rolls and an egg roll, not sure why I couldn't get an accurate estimate. Don't lie to me, just tell me HOW LONG. Not sure why this place has such amazing reviews. Crazy Sushi is better, cheaper, and way more worth the wait.
