About Szechwan Chinese Food

Szechwan Chinese Food is a Chinese restaurant located at 2107 Pacific Coast Hwy, Lomita, CA 90717, USA. They can be contacted at (310) 534-2280 or +1 310-534-2280.

As a Chinese restaurant, Szechwan Chinese Food offers a selection of dishes that many customers find to be above average in quality and cooked very well. Some popular dishes mentioned include Beef Fried Rice, Chicken Chow Mein, Sweet n Sour Chicken, Broccoli Beef, and Walnut Shrimp. One reviewer noted the overall quality, quantity, and presentation of the entrees as superb.

However, some customers have commented on the pricing, suggesting it might be on the higher side, with main dishes ranging from around $13 for plain chow mein to $25 or more for items like walnut shrimp. Additionally, it was mentioned that rice is not automatically served with the meals, which is not typical for many Chinese restaurants.

The service at Szechwan Chinese Food has received mixed feedback. While one customer found the service to be nice and quick, they also noted that the staff did not regularly check in. Another customer had a positive experience with a waiter named Leo and another waiter who were attentive and kept their drinks refilled. If you are interested in dim sum, it's advisable to check if it's available before visiting, as it may only be offered on weekends; it was not available on a Friday night visit.

In summary, Szechwan Chinese Food in Lomita offers well-regarded Chinese cuisine, with some customers praising the taste and quality. However, potential diners should be aware of the pricing, the fact that rice may not be included with the dishes, and the possibility of varying service experiences. If you are interested in dim sum, it's recommended to inquire about its availability in advance.

The food we had here was really good. Definitely above average Chinese food, all cooked very well. My issue was with the price and the service. The dishes ran between about $13 for plain chow main to about $25 or maybe a little more for some of the dishes like walnut shrimp. There was no rice served with the food as you usually find in Chinese restaurants so it was just the plates of food. As far as the service goes they were nice and it was pretty quick they just didn’t really check in with us to see if everything was ok. Our grandson really wanted some plain noodles and I had to find someone to ask them if we could get dome. (Those were the plain chow main noodles I mentioned.) Anyway it was good and I enjoyed going to a place my grandpa used to enjoy years ago. I usually give 5 star reviews but I couldn’t quite get there in this case just because the price seemed high for what we got. If you want dim sum check if they have it before you go. That might only be on the weekends. They didn’t have it on the Friday night we went.

Visiting from out of town. This is my 2nd visit to this restaurant...a favorite of my daughter's family. If you are searching for great tasting chinese food, this is it!!! The overall quality, quantity, and presentation of their entrées are superb! Tonight, we ordered their Beef Fried Rice, Chicken Chow Mein, Sweet n Sour Chicken, Broccoli Beef, and Walnut Shrimp. We were seated and served by Leo. He and another waiter tended to our every need and kept our drinks topped all throughout our dining experience.

Out of my expectations. I have seen this restaurant a lot of times while passing by. I thought it was Szchuan style but it serves really good dim sum. The biggest shrimp dumplings I’ve ever had before. It has four or five shrimps inside. The service is good and patient. Relatively quiet restaurant and it has big round tables for family gatherings. Highly Recommended!

Update: I was here 6 years ago and this is a review of recent visit. Not sure what happened but the dim sum were quite bad. I had Xiao long Bao and shrimp and scallop dumplings. Both were very disappointing. Ma po tofu lunch menu was okay. Taste and quality has dropped quite a bit since 6 years… This place kept the traditional push cart dim sum. Overall the dishes were well made and the atmosphere is quite like those yum cha places in Chinatown.

I recently dined at Szechwan Chinese Food restaurant and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The food was delicious, boasting authentic Szechwan flavors that delighted my taste buds. While the prices were a bit on the higher side, the quality of the cuisine justified the cost. Although the portion sizes weren't overly generous, the attentive and friendly staff made up for it with their excellent service. Overall, a great spot for flavorful Chinese cuisine with a warm atmosphere. Will definitely come back to try their dimsum!
