About Szechuan Restaurant

Welcome to Szechuan Restaurant, a Chinese restaurant located at 45188 Ford Rd in Canton, Michigan. As a Chinese restaurant, we aim to provide a satisfying dining experience with a focus on both familiar and flavorful dishes. For inquiries or to place an order, please contact us at (734) 459-3960 or our mobile number +1 734-459-3960.

Based on recent customer feedback, Szechuan Restaurant has undergone a significant transformation with a complete makeover of both its exterior and interior. The ambiance is now described as very clean, modern, and almost elegant, offering a pleasant environment for dining.

The service at Szechuan Restaurant is noted to be quite fast, with food portions that are generally generous. One group of four diners found the portions to be so substantial that they were unable to finish their individual entrees and took leftovers home. While some customers felt that certain dishes could have been less oily or more flavorful, suggesting that ordering carefully might be key to a satisfying meal, the overall impression was positive enough for a return visit to explore other menu options.

Specific dishes mentioned in reviews include the General Tao and Almond Chicken, which were described as "on point" and the "best" in the metro Detroit area. The egg drop soup was also well-received. However, the hot and sour soup was lukewarm and lacked the expected peppery sour taste for one reviewer, and the spring rolls were considered small and not worth their price. Notably, some main dishes were served lukewarm rather than hot.

A service feature appreciated by customers is the practice of boxing leftovers at the table. However, one suggestion for improvement was to offer a pay-at-the-table option instead of taking the payment card away. Despite some mixed feedback on appetizers and the temperature of some dishes, the entrees, particularly the General Tao and Almond Chicken, appear to be strong points. The total for a meal including these entrees and some extras was around $50 before tip.

If you are in Canton, Michigan, and looking for a Chinese restaurant with a modern and clean atmosphere, fast service, and generous portions, especially known for its General Tao and Almond Chicken, Szechuan Restaurant is worth a visit. Consider focusing on the highly recommended entrees for your dining experience.

A very simple and quaint restaurant. Service was pretty fast and food portions are pretty good. We were 4 of us and ordered our own entrees. But all of us couldn’t finish our portions and took them home. Some of the entrees were either oily than we would have liked or would have preferred more flavour. Maybe we dint order the right things. But all in all a good restaurant and we wouldnt mind visiting again to try other options.

Wow! We hadn’t visited in years! In fact, we thought we were at the wrong restaurant because the outside had a complete makeover as did the inside- We were the first to arrive for dinner- They quickly got busy- very clean- modern- almost elegant- Service was very fast- Almost too fast to take our order; considering the menu is quite extensive- Our waiter was nice- - we ordered general Tao, almond chicken, egg drop soup, hot sour soup, spring rolls- Everything came out super fast- My husband really enjoyed the egg drop soup- They quickly got hot sour was ok- It was lukewarm in temp and lacked the peppery sour taste I’m use to- For $5 I wasn’t impressed- The spring rolls were ok- Small and almost $3 not worth the price- The entrees were on point- The best General Tao and by far the best almond chicken we’ve had in the metro Detroit area- BUT my GT was lukewarm— Nothing was hot like it had just been prepared and served- I appreciate that they box the food at your table and not carry it back to the kitchen area- I wish they had pay at your table vs taking your card…We definitely will be back- We will skip the extras and focus on the entrees- The total was $50 not including tip

The food is good but if you are ordering delivery don't use their website! There's no button for if theres a problem with your order; the decrease in price isn't significant enough to justify not being able to get a cost reduction when something is missing from your order. I Like their ma po dofu but it's a lot better when it actually comes with rice

The service was great. Hot and sour soup was thicker than I'm used to. The hunan chicken was tasty but not spicy as I had ordered. The fried rice was great different veggies than peas and carrots, so much better their way!

By far the best "Asian" food in the state. Always well presented and amazing flavor. They are consistent with portions and servers are super fast and on point always. Shrimp toast is perfect.
