Szechuan Opera Intro
Welcome to Szechuan Opera. While our physical location is 3916 Prince St g01, Flushing, NY 11354, USA, we are providing information for local users in Singapore interested in a Chinese restaurant that also operates as a bar.
Szechuan Opera functions as a Chinese Restaurant where patrons can also enjoy bar services. Based on recent customer reviews, experiences appear to be mixed. One reviewer reported a negative experience related to potential false advertising regarding the price of Peking Duck, noting a significant discrepancy between a flyer price ($29) and the menu price ($116). They also found the Four Season Beans and Eggplant to be 'completely forgettable' and the signature beef dish to be 'weirdly still red inside.' This reviewer concluded that there are better dining options available and would not return.
In contrast, another reviewer found the food to be 'good,' specifically mentioning the special fried rice and sesame seed beef. They noted that the service was 'a bit complicated' but that staff were helpful. This reviewer also mentioned the possibility of an outside patio, although they were unable to see it, and indicated they would return if nearby.
Based on the limited information, Szechuan Opera offers Chinese cuisine and functions as a bar. One reviewer suggests the presence of an outside patio, which could contribute to the environment. Service experiences seem to vary. There is no information available regarding specific promotional offers. Potential customers in Singapore should consider the contrasting reviews regarding food quality and service when deciding whether to visit Szechuan Opera.

Definitely not a good experience. So I was walking by the place and someone was handing out fliers for the restaurant. On the flier, it noted that there was Peking Duck for $29. Now I understand that that is probably too cheap for Peking Duck, so I thought it might have been a misprint or an old price and went to check it out anyways. The price on the menu was actually $116!!! And they just crossed out the old number and wrote $116 on it!!! I also checked a flier that was in the restaurant itself and it has the Peking Duck listed as $29. This is false advertising and should be an immediate red flag to anyone who reads this and wants to eat here. Well we were there so we decided to try it anyways. We ordered the four season beans and eggplant and their signature beef dish. The beef was weirdly still red inside and the beans and eggplant was completely forgettable. No flavor at all and kind of just vegetables on a plate. There are much better options in Flushing. We also asked them how much rice is in each order and they just said it was normal, but it ended up being at more than one person can eat. Good thing we only ordered one rice between the two of us. There is no real reason to ever dine here and I would not go again.
The Food is good the service is a bit complicated but they help a lot. I ordered the special fried rice and the sesame seed beef. It seems they have an outside patio but I was unable to see it. I would go back if I was close by again.
The food was very inconsistent. The live eel comes out very fishy and is not cheap either. They recommended steamed but then came back to tell us steamed might not be great so to add bean sauce. But even with the bean sauce it was just very fish and gelatinous. Also a lot of the other dishes were also just OK. Even the big pork shank was kind of tough even though it's supposed to be stewed to extreme tenderness. Additionally the service was not super pleasant. The server kept coming in and pushing new things and new suggestions on us even though we knew what we wanted to order... And was also oddly... Forgetful. We would ask for something and they would forget it. Or they would come in to check on us and ask if we wanted water or something and we would say yes but then they would be like I'm really busy I'll get to it after I do something else. Ok so like why come in and ask... Just strange. Would not come back here.
The dining experience at Szechuan Opera was absolutely delightful! From the moment we stepped in, the ambiance was inviting and the aroma of freshly prepared dishes filled the air. Each bite of the food was a burst of flavor, perfectly balanced and expertly crafted. The presentation of the dishes was exquisite, showcasing the chef's attention to detail.
I really enjoyed the sour pickle fish and sweet and sour pork here. There’s also something for everyone, my mom’s vegetarian and we got the cauliflower dish for her and it was very flavorful. For dessert we topped it off with their bing feng and it was really refreshing. The service was also very fast and accommodating!
