About Szechuan Garden

Szechuan Garden is a Chinese restaurant situated at 10285 Chapel Hill Rd #300 in Morrisville, NC 27560, USA. While the name suggests a focus on the bold and spicy flavors of Szechuan cuisine, customer reviews available online present a somewhat varied picture of the dining experience. Potential local users considering Szechuan Garden should be aware of the feedback regarding food quality, pricing, service, and the restaurant's location.

One customer, who drove a considerable distance based on online reviews in search of ribs and duck, reported a negative experience with the roast pork lion dish, which they described as resembling chicken. This reviewer also expressed concerns about potential food poisoning after consuming it, leading to the majority of their $38 order being discarded. While their husband enjoyed the crispy duck, this isolated incident raises questions about the consistency and quality of certain dishes. The reviewer's disappointment was significant, leading them to question the positive reviews they had initially read and express a preference for other dining options in Raleigh.

Another customer's review was brief but pointed, stating, "First time & probably last." This lack of elaboration suggests a generally unsatisfactory experience that did not warrant a return visit. Such a concise negative comment can often indicate a significant issue or a collection of smaller disappointments that collectively deter a first-time customer.

The restaurant's location at 10285 Chapel Hill Rd #300 in Morrisville appears to be a point of concern for some patrons. One reviewer specifically mentioned that it was "not worth the rush or traffic" to travel to the location, even from a job only two miles away. They further noted that the location is "hard to get in and out during fish traffic," implying potential accessibility issues during peak hours. This is an important consideration for local users, as ease of access can significantly impact the overall dining experience, especially for those with limited time or those trying to navigate busy roads.

Pricing at Szechuan Garden has also been a subject of feedback. One customer described the menu prices as "high." They recounted an interaction where they were informed of an extra $2 charge for "extra egg," which resulted in a single fried egg being placed on top of a pint of plain fried rice. This reviewer was particularly critical of the fried rice itself, noting its lack of common ingredients like egg, onion, peas, or carrots, and its unusually dark color, suggesting the pre-application of soy sauce. The absence of complimentary soy sauce or duck sauce, and the fact that it was not offered, further detracted from their experience. This customer felt that the quality of the food, particularly the plain fried rice and the "grocery store size" fried dumplings (some of which were steamed), did not justify the price, stating they could not imagine paying $16 for an entree of similar quality and that their $13 meal was not worth the cost.

The combined feedback from these reviews paints a picture of a Chinese restaurant that may have inconsistencies in food quality, potentially high prices relative to the perceived quality, and a location that can be inconvenient to access, especially during busy times. While one positive aspect mentioned was the "friendly staff" encountered by one reviewer, this positive note was overshadowed by concerns about the food itself.

Given these observations, local users in Morrisville and the surrounding areas considering Szechuan Garden should weigh these experiences carefully. If convenience of location is a priority, the reported traffic issues might be a deterrent. If value for money and food quality are primary concerns, the feedback regarding pricing and the standard of some dishes, such as the roast pork lion and the plain fried rice, should be taken into account.

As there is no information provided regarding the environment or specific services beyond order taking, and no mention of any promotional offers, it is difficult to provide a comprehensive introduction to Szechuan Garden. The available reviews primarily focus on aspects of food quality, pricing, and location accessibility, and these are the key factors that potential customers can objectively consider based on the information at hand.

In conclusion, the online reviews for Szechuan Garden at 10285 Chapel Hill Rd #300, Morrisville, NC, suggest a need for caution. While friendly staff was mentioned, concerns about food quality (including a potential food poisoning incident and poorly prepared fried rice), high prices, and a difficult location to access during traffic hours have been raised by multiple customers. Local users are advised to consider these points when deciding whether to dine at Szechuan Garden.

Was looking for ribs and duck, read the reviews and this seemed like a good place to go to. We drove 25 mins each way. Friendly staff, got our order, went home 25 mins. I ate the roast pork lion which looked like chicken? I think I had food poisoning. My husband had the crispy duck and he was fine. I'm upset I spent $38 on food that I threw away. I only ate a little bit and threw the rest away. So question.... if this is the best yall had..where are you eating at? 😆 I live in Raleigh so I'll stick to the pop ups there ✌️

First time & probably last. Not worth the rush or traffic to take almost 40 min to go and come back when my job is only 2 miles away. Location is hard to get in and out during fish traffic. The menu prices are high. It was nice they called to tell me it would be 2$ extra for "extra egg." They put 1 fried egg on top of my side (pint) of fried rice. The fried rice did not have any egg, onion, peas, or carrots in it all. So they gave me plain fried rice under the 1 fried egg I paid for. Bland no flavor. The rice looked like it already had soy sauce on it because it was that color, and not what fried rice usually looks like. They did not even include any soy or duck, nor did they ask. Why was the rice so dark for PLAIN fried rice. The fried dumplings were just okay, but half of them were steamed and grocery store size. I could not imagine paying 16$ for an entree at this quality. Food really wasn't good. Not worth $13.
