As a Szechuan restaurant, Szechuan First focuses on dishes characterized by their bold and often spicy flavors, the liberal use of chili peppers and Sichuan peppercorns being hallmarks of this culinary tradition. The reviews suggest that they stay true to this style, offering dishes that are both intensely flavored and generously portioned.

The environment at Szechuan First is described through the lens of its service and the overall dining experience rather than specific details about the décor. One reviewer noted that the staff was "so warm and welcoming" that it felt like visiting family. This emphasis on hospitality suggests a friendly and inviting atmosphere where customers are made to feel comfortable and valued. The staff's attentiveness, including checking in on diners and providing "little thoughtful touches throughout the meal," further contributes to a positive and welcoming environment.

The services at Szechuan First appear to be centered around providing a full and satisfying dining experience. This includes attentive and warm customer service, as highlighted by the reviewers. The restaurant caters to dine-in customers and likely offers takeout services as well, given the nature of most Chinese restaurants. The generous portion sizes suggest a focus on providing value for money, ensuring that customers leave feeling satisfied.

Several features of Szechuan First stand out based on the customer feedback. The authenticity of the Szechuan cuisine is a primary feature, with one reviewer describing the food as "so spicy" and "so amazing," indicating a genuine representation of the region's culinary style. The freshness of the ingredients is also noted, with one reviewer stating the food was "so fresh." This suggests a commitment to using quality ingredients in their preparations.

Another significant feature is the generous portion sizes. One reviewer explicitly mentioned that the portions were "generous" and "huge," and that the restaurant offers "the best value I've seen in greater Seattle." This combination of flavorful food and ample portions at a good price point is a major draw for customers.

The warm and welcoming service is another key feature, making diners feel like valued guests. The staff's attentiveness and the "thoughtful touches" mentioned by one reviewer indicate a level of care that goes beyond standard service.

One reviewer also humorously pointed out the restaurant's suitability as a dining spot when visiting Ikea, suggesting its convenient location for those in the area for shopping. However, they also noted that it might not be the best choice for a first date, perhaps implying a more casual or less intimate ambiance, or possibly due to the intensity of the flavors. Despite this, the reviewer was enthusiastic about returning with friends or roommates, further emphasizing the appeal of the food and value.

It is important to note that one reviewer mentioned an "okay" food score, but explicitly advised not to let this deter potential customers, as they themselves would definitely be returning. This suggests that while there might be varying opinions or perhaps a broader rating that doesn't fully capture the positive aspects experienced by these specific reviewers, the overall consensus from these accounts is highly favorable, particularly regarding flavor, freshness, portion size, and value.

Currently, there is no specific promotional information available in the provided text. The reviews do not mention any discounts, special offers, or ongoing promotions at Szechuan First. Local users interested in such information would need to contact the restaurant directly.

In conclusion, Szechuan First in Kent, WA, offers a compelling dining experience for those seeking authentic and flavorful Szechuan cuisine. The restaurant is characterized by its warm and welcoming staff, generous portion sizes, and a commitment to fresh ingredients. The dishes are noted for their spiciness and intense flavors, staying true to the Szechuan culinary tradition. While one reviewer alluded to a potentially average overall rating, their personal experience was overwhelmingly positive, highlighting the great value and the quality of the food. Great food. So spicy. So oily. So fresh. So amazing. This place is not where you'd bring a first date, but would absolutely bring a friend or roommate any time you go to visit Ikea. The portions are huge, very tasty, and have the best value I've seen in greater Seattle. Don't let the "okay" food score scare you off, I'll definitely be coming back.

Recently visited Seattle. Had the combo lo mein, Mongolian beef, house fried rice and spicy cucumbers. This was the best meal I had while there. Besides my mother’s cooking lol. Go run and try it!

This place is so unbelievably good. It's very similar to the Chinese food from New England, which is a delicacy. A classic, amazing Chinese restaurant with 200 items on the menu at reasonable prices and huge portions. It's one of the only restaurants left where you can see items at single digit prices. One of the only places you can get a scallion pancake around here. A real one, not one of those pathetic crepes at dough zone. The steamed dumpling hit just right. Back home they're called "Peking Ravioli." The Tea Smoked Duck is very very good. Full of flavor. They have great mapo tofu, maybe my favorite around. The spicy beef noodle soup is fantastic. And they have a robust selection of vegetarian items! The lunch menu combos are also all excellent deals.

I had zero complaints about my food. My experience wasn’t extravagant, but it was worth every penny and tasted so delicious. Yes it’s in an odd location with misleading labeling on the front, but let the food and price do all the talking. The service won’t let you down. And there is plenty of parking. Personally I enjoyed the menu selection finding it plentiful, but not over whelming. They organize it by the main source of proteins. Made it easy for me to find a fish based dish with flavors I was craving. The inside was clean and had an appropriate theme, but it was visually a bit out dated. It’s a smaller to mid sized venue. Booths on the left and right sides, normal dining tables in the center, registers and kitchen in the back. Nothing to complain about. My highlight was the actual food. They actually took time to make it look more than presentable. I enjoyed the way they added the seasoning and topping. Allowed me to visually see how fresh the ingredients were before mixing it all in. Yes the ingredients all looked and tasted fresh. And the spice. It was the Szechuan spice and tingle I was looking for. There are many places that have prices like this but very few Szechuan spots at this price serve food this darn good and with level of quality and love. Their Szechuan boiled fish was darn near perfect in my opinion. Also, yes these guys eat their own food. And the food they ate made me wanna order more food since it looked and smelled so darn good.
