SzeChuan Alley 成都巷子

I recently dined at Sze Chuan Alley, and it was an amazing experience! This is an authentic Sichuan restaurant, and every dish is full of genuine Sichuan flavor. The owner and his wife were incredibly friendly and even gave us some complimentary side dishes, which made us feel very welcomed. Both the service and the quality of the food were impeccable. Although I saw some reviews saying that the food here wasn’t good, I’d like to clarify that Sichuan cuisine has its unique taste, which may not be representative of all Chinese food. Having lived in Sichuan for many years, I can assure you that this is the closest to the authentic Chengdu flavor I’ve had in Chicago. If you love Sichuan cuisine, this place is a must-visit! Highly recommended!

Good, but just not good enough to come back. Each dish I tried just wasn't special. It was mediocre, everything else was sublimed. The tea was generic. The presentation was great though. Problem-1: Their table layout is horrible. You are inches away from the next table once seated. The server has a horrible time reaching you if are near the windows. Expect to be excused to make waves for the server if you are seated in the middle. Solution-1: Sit near the back, they won't change the layout because more tables = more profit since its a smaller restaurant. Problem-2: When it rains or snows later, prepare to feel very slippery due to the flooring, especially near the back when there's a lot of grease coming back and forth. Problem-2: Just be careful! Update: Just found out we got food poisoning from this restaurant.

Chengdu Kong Pao chicken was pretty good, I really recommend getting the boiled fish in spicy Szechuan sauce and the string beans are a must. Just keep in mind servings are pretty big. My only complaint is that we also ordered another entree but it never came out. We waited 45mins for it until we decided to go ask when it was coming out only for them to tell us that it was sold out.. Had they told us sooner we could have just ordered something else instead of waiting for that long.

Came with friends for birthday celebration. Totally exceed expectations. Very good experience. They offer authentic sichuan cuisine. Such delicious Szechuan food in this area! Kung Pao Chicken and Boiled beef are amazing. Can’t go wrong. Services is excellent as well. I love their spicy chicken. It is taste crispy, tasty stir fried chicken with dried chillies and sichuan pepper. Would go this place again for sure!

Another real Chinese restaurant in Bridgeport!!! Every dishes we ordered was super good and authentic(very important to me - I am come from Szechuan)! All the dishes prepared very well, the service is excellent, I can see this will be my go ti place for Chinese food in the neighborhood.
