This appears to be a family-run business with a reputation for serving very good spicy food, making it a recommended spot for those who enjoy heat in their dishes. One reviewer who has visited multiple times appreciates their ability to make food genuinely spicy.

However, a more recent visit post-COVID indicated a potential change in the restaurant's upkeep, with the ambiance described as less welcoming than before. Additionally, the plates served were noted to be worn out. This suggests that their primary focus might have shifted towards takeout orders, as there were not many servers present, and the business seemed to be mainly operated by the family.

Despite these observations, specific dishes have received high praise. The "Sweet chilli sample" was rated 5/5, the "Crispy crab curry" 4/5, the "Drunken noodles" 4/5, and the "Red chicken curry" 5/5, particularly due to its spice level. Customers have noted that the service is generally fast, and the food is good. It is important to be aware that a 12% service charge is added to the bill for dine-in customers, and they do check the bill accordingly.

The green papaya salad with seafood is highlighted as a "delightful culinary experience," showcasing a perfect balance of flavors and textures, with fresh seafood and a tangy, zesty dressing. The cozy ambiance, attentive staff, and prompt service contributed to a memorable dining experience for this particular dish. In summary, Sweet Chilli in West Hartford offers flavorful Thai cuisine, especially for those who enjoy spicy food, with noted strengths in dishes like the green papaya salad and various curries. Be aware of the potential ambiance and the 12% service charge for dining in.

This was my third time visiting this Thai place. I think it’s a very good place if you like spicy food because they can make really good spicy food . However i had gone before covid and it was a well kept restaurant but on going yesterday it didn’t look so welcoming and also the plates that were served were very worn out. I think most of their business maybe with takeouts . There were not many servers and all as well. Just the family running the business. Sweet chili sample-5/5 Crispy crab curry-4/5 Drunken noodles-4/5 Red chicken curry-5/5 bcz of the spice level Service is fast, food is good. And they do check your bill as they do apply 12% service charge additionally when you dine in.

The most important thing to know is that they can accomidate vegan options. For everyone else this is a key point meaning that everything is fresh cooked and customizable. Even the sauces which is not common for thai places. This isn’t marked on the menu so you won’t know unless you ask. The parking is a little odd and tight so you might prefer to street park. The bottomline is that most people would enjoy an experience here.

Just moved waking distance for here and wanted to try the local Thai food. I tested with Pad Thai and Drunken Noodles. I won’t order the drunken noodles again because they’re not good. I gave them 3 different try’s too.(dumb on me) The pad Thai is delicious!

I'm not a Thai guy, but, I liked the restaurant's name. To start i had the Sweet Chili Sampler - A combination of chicken satay, spring rolls, bags of gold, and shumai, with soy sauce, duck sauce, and a peanut sauce. I loved them all, care taken for each sample. I then had pork Pad Thai, Homemade rice noodles with pork, tamarind sauce, egg, bean sprouts, chives, and ground peanuts. It came with a fresh dinner salad with a oeanut, maybe ginger, dressing. I asked for hot sauce and got three, I had the sweet chili sauce, it brought my meal to the next level! Loved it. Different than Chinese, lots of tasty fun!!-
