About Sushi Kuchi

While listed under a Chinese Restaurant platform, Sushi Kuchi, located at 7180 Avenida Encinas #100 in Carlsbad, CA, USA, is a restaurant offering a range of Japanese cuisine, with a focus on sushi. Based on customer reviews, experiences appear to vary across different menu items.

Customers who visited Sushi Kuchi for the first time reported enjoying their meals, particularly highlighting the variety of sushi ordered. The Caterpillar Roll was specifically mentioned as being great. The service also received positive feedback, with one reviewer commending their waitress, Sarah, as amazing.

However, not all dishes received the same level of praise. The Dragon Roll was noted for having a strange-smelling seaweed, which was not well-received. The Mango Roll, also described as a fancy Salmon Roll, was considered very good but had a spicy element. The Salmon Roll was described as tiny and unremarkable. In contrast, the Sesame Chicken was deemed perfect, although the accompanying cabbage was considered useless. The Yaki Udon was reported as bad and tasteless, while the Bulgogi Beef was favorably reviewed as great.

Based on these reviews, Sushi Kuchi offers a mixed experience. Certain sushi rolls like the Caterpillar and Mango Roll, along with the Bulgogi Beef and Sesame Chicken, appear to be popular choices. However, other items like the Dragon Roll and Yaki Udon may not meet all diners' expectations. The service, at least in some instances, has been positively highlighted.

Currently, there is no specific promotional information available in the provided reviews. Potential local users may want to consider the varied feedback on specific dishes when making their choices at Sushi Kuchi.

Caterpillar roll was great, we didn't like Dragon roll because seaweed smelled weird. Mango Roll (fancy Salmon Roll) was very good but a little spicy, Salmon Roll was tiny and nothing special. Sesame Chicken was perfect but the cabbage with it was useless. Yaki Udon was bad and tasteless. Bulgogi beef was great!

Top points for service, atmosphere, food presentation & actual quantity of food. Where this reviewer removed points was for actual flavoring and robustness of flavor. Very muted flavor on the protein. Teriyaki sauce lacked flavor.

I have ordered take out from here probably 30 times over the years and while there have at times been a few little things I didn't like about the way my food was prepared I've never had an order like the one I just received today. I ordered a variety of different food that my family usually orders, nothing different. The vegas roll was completely cold and it tastes like it had been in a refrigerator over night. The same for the shrimp crunch roll. The dragon roll has the most insane pile of fish eggs on top...I know it is supposed to have fish eggs...but this is about 10x more than normal. The salmon sushi still has the skin on it! The albacore sushi is gray! The maguro sushi (ahi) is a deep red and shriveled...so weird. I took 3 bites of different things, almost threw up. I tried being respectful and calling to get a refund and not leave a review but the phone rang about 20 times with no answer and no voicemail so here I am leaving the review. Did you guys get a new manager who us serving old food? A new sushi chef that loves fish skin on his sushi? What's going on?

First off this place was definitely a bit pricey for sushi 🍣 But other than that the food was delicious and the service was great! Got the gyoza, sashimi, and 4 rolls DELICIOUS! 😋 The food didn't come out all at once so you had time to eat, but it came out quick enough so you didn't sit around waiting. Overall if your looking for somewhere to get a quick bit of sushi definitely recommend.
