Super Choy Restaurant

This is a hidden gem of Scarborough. I have been eating here for last 20+ years. One of my favourite spot for quick Chinese food. My favorite is #7 with no sauce then add hot sauce and soya sauce. My new favourite is chili chicken with rice. Good food for excellent price. I would definitely recommend it.

One of the best affordable food places still around. I used to grab food here years ago while attending high school. It's still affordable, still delicious and staff are super friendly. Love coming here. Free easy parking right in the front. Super quick service.

We tried Super Choy for Christmas Eve this past year and even on a day where they were slammed with orders, this was easily the best Chinese food we have ever eaten. Their fried rice in particular I have to mention because for most restaurants, the fried rice is an afterthought because they know people are going to order it regardless so they don’t put effort or flavour into it, but this is NOT the case for Super Choy. Best fried rice I have ever had. Super well seasoned and perfect. We also had the lemon chicken, sour pork (breaded, they were out of bbq), beef with broccoli, and mixed veg. Everything was hot, came really quick despite being a very busy night of the year, and DELICIOUS. It didn’t even make it into leftovers because we ate it all up that night. New favourite take out. Will DEFINITELY be back!

Ate there with friends on the way for road trip. We ordered the party tray for the lemon chicken on fried rice. It tasted pretty good. The chicken was crunchy and the fried rice was well made. The staff was friendly and accommodating as they made sure we had plates and utensils. Overall good experience would recommend.

I’m so sad. I used to eat here often in high school (and even afterwards), and also ate here in the last year or so, and it was still amazing/exactly as I remembered it. I had it again today, and they changed the beef fried rice. It used to have a delicious thick sauce on top (likely with oil it got cooked in), and it was absolutely amazing and packed with flavour. Now, it’s drier and not at all like it used to be. I guess it’s still good for other people, but because it wasn’t the perfect meal it used to be that I’d been craving, I feel really let down and sad about the change.
