About Super China
Welcome to Super China, a Chinese restaurant located at 11657 Research Blvd, Austin, TX 78759, USA. As part of the local Chinese Restaurant category, Super China aims to provide a variety of Chinese cuisine to the Austin community. They can be contacted at (512) 527-8888 or their mobile number +1 512-527-8888 for orders or inquiries.
Based on recent customer feedback, experiences at Super China appear to be somewhat contrasting. One review expresses significant dissatisfaction with both the service and the food. The customer recounts an instance where their order was prepared for takeout despite indicating they would be dining in, which was particularly problematic as they were out of town and lacked necessary utensils. The reviewer noted that the server did not confirm their dining preference and provided only one napkin upon request. Furthermore, this customer found the tea and egg roll to be of poor taste. While they described the main food as "ok," they stated they would not have chosen to eat there knowing it was only mediocre. A notable and significant issue raised was the absence of public restrooms at the establishment, leading to considerable dissatisfaction.
In stark contrast, another reviewer presents a highly positive experience, describing Super China as a "no frills Chinese restaurant which serves absolutely delicious food!" This customer praised the "huge portion sizes," "good prices," and "amazing taste," asserting that these qualities make it "one of the best restaurants in Austin." They specifically appreciated that Super China does not skimp on rice, unlike many other Chinese restaurants, ensuring customers receive a satisfying amount of this staple. This reviewer mentioned consistently ordering dinner portions for lunch to guarantee ample leftovers for a second meal, highlighting the generous servings. They also noted that Super China is family-owned and operated, and commended the service as "fast, friendly and efficient!!"
Considering these two distinct perspectives, it is challenging to form a definitive overall impression of Super China. The negative review points to serious shortcomings in service, food quality of certain items (tea and egg roll), and a significant lack of basic amenities like public restrooms. The positive review, however, strongly praises the food's taste, the portion sizes, the value for money, and the efficiency and friendliness of the service, attributing these positive aspects to the family-owned nature of the business.
It's possible that the experiences can vary depending on the specific dishes ordered or the circumstances of the visit (e.g., dine-in vs. takeout). The positive reviewer's strategy of ordering dinner portions for lunch suggests that the portion sizes are indeed substantial and offer good value. The mention of fast and friendly service from a family-owned operation is also a potentially significant draw for customers who value these aspects.
However, the lack of public restrooms is a serious concern that could deter many potential diners, regardless of the food quality or service. This is a fundamental amenity that most customers expect from a dine-in restaurant.
For local users in Austin considering Super China, it would be prudent to weigh these contrasting reviews. If generous portions and potentially delicious main dishes at good prices are priorities, and if takeout is the primary mode of consumption, then Super China might be worth considering, based on the positive review. However, those planning to dine in should be aware of the reported lack of public restrooms and the potential for service issues, as highlighted in the negative review.
The discrepancy in the quality of different food items is also noteworthy. While the main food was described as "ok" by one and "absolutely delicious" by another, the negative comments about the tea and egg roll suggest that the quality might not be consistent across the entire menu.
Without further information regarding the environment or any specific promotional offers, it is difficult to provide a comprehensive introduction. The available reviews focus primarily on the food and service, with a critical mention of the absence of public restrooms.
Potential customers might want to inquire about the restroom situation before deciding to dine in. For those primarily interested in takeout and value large portions at reasonable prices, Super China appears to be a viable option according to one reviewer. The family-owned aspect might also appeal to those who prefer to support local businesses.
In conclusion, Super China in Austin presents a mixed picture based on the available customer reviews. While it seems to offer generous portions of potentially delicious food at good prices with fast and friendly service (as per one review), there are also significant concerns regarding service inconsistencies, the quality of certain menu items, and the notable absence of public restrooms (as per another review). Local users should consider these points carefully when deciding whether to patronize this establishment.

The service and food is horrible. The lady brought my food to go, when I needed to eat it here because I am out of town. She didn't even ask me if I was eating here and did not bring me silverware or napkins. When I ask for them, she gave me one napkin. The tea tastes awful as well as the egg roll. The food was ok, but I would not stopped here if I knew, it was just ok. And, they don't have public restrooms. Not happy....
A no frills Chinese restaurant which serves absolutely delicious food! Huge portion sizes, good prices and amazing taste make it one of the best restaurants in Austin. So many Chinese restaurants skimp on rice which is one of the cheapest foods but at this restaurant you will not have to worry about running out. We always get the dinner portions for lunch so that way there is plenty left over for dinner! Family owned and operated, service is fast, friendly and efficient!!
I had the worst experience ever with this place tonight. I ordered my food & went to pick it up. I was a little late, called & explained to her I was a minute down the road. Everything was fine until I paid. I transferred money to my venmo (which I have been doing all day shopping & had literally no problems). She took my card, paid & watched the money disappear from my account as well as shown proof that it went through, she proceeded to say It declined. Which my card did NOT decline because I literally had proof on my end showing that it went through. She argued back & forth with me saying it’s declined while I am showing her that it still took money out of my account & says charged to “Super China”. She made the statement that with venmo it takes 3-5 business days to complete the payment but It literally charged my card whatever she did. I ended up leaving with no food but money taken out. I will be taking further action with this, since I have paid for NO food. Don’t waste your time on this place. It is not worth the hassle. Definitely never going to this place again & I will be telling everyone I know never to go here.
Don’t let a few bad reviews fool you. Pretty much all of the bad reviews are due to GrubHub or delivery services. Do yourself a favor, come in or pick it up if you don’t want to risk a bad experience due to the delivery and you’ll get some of the best Chinese food in Austin! It’s a small, clean mom and pop operation that will seat up to a party of 10 at most. I tried the Kung Pao chicken, house fried rice, chicken lo mein, hot and sour soup and eggrolls on this trip here with my family. The eggrolls were the only thing that was her average, everything else was awesome and above the quality you normally get here in Austin. Don’t ask me why, but for some reason, with all the restaurants in Austin, good Chinese food is so hard to fine. The vegetables were very fresh and not undercooked like most Chinese food. The hot and sour soup has a great flavor to it and not watered down like most places. If you’re looking for a big fancy restaurant, this isn’t your place, but if you’re looking for quality food at a very reasonable price, you’ve got to give this place a try! Can’t believe I’ve lived in the area for over 10 years and I barely just found this place, definitely coming back!!
Its okay to eat here if you have no other choice. We went on Christmas won’t be going again. I like the decoration on table but food came out a little cold ( dangerous for getting chicken which is cold) Nearby they have nice painting.
