The menu at 老广的味道 Sunrise Noodle House highlights several signature dishes that have garnered attention. The Hainan Chicken Rice, featuring rice cooked in flavorful chicken broth and served with a choice of house-made dipping sauce, is a prominent offering. Another signature item is the Spicy Vietnamese Beef Noodle Soup, catering to those who enjoy bold and aromatic flavors. Complementing these specialties are a selection of Cantonese and Vietnamese favorites, including shrimp wonton in egg-noodle soup, deep-fried spring egg rolls, pan-fried daikon / radish cake, and a variety of fried rice dishes, providing a diverse range of options to suit different palates.
While the majority of the feedback seems positive regarding the signature dishes and other menu items, one review offered a critical perspective on the Hainan Chicken Rice, describing it as the "worst" they had ever had. This review mentioned a specific price point of $14.24 (including tax) for a dish containing only six small pieces of chicken and the concerning presence of long hair. This strongly negative experience suggests potential inconsistencies in the preparation or quality control of this particular dish and is a point of caution for prospective diners.
In contrast, another review provided a more balanced perspective, highlighting the freshness of the fish balls, although noting that they were "not chewy enough." This indicates a focus on fresh ingredients, but perhaps with room for improvement in certain aspects of texture or preparation. The same review also praised the complimentary dessert offered by the restaurant. The taro soup with tapioca and coconut cream was described as "tasty," suggesting a pleasant and appreciated addition to the dining experience.
Regarding the environment and services, the information available is somewhat limited. The restaurant has a seating capacity of 48, suggesting a moderately sized establishment. Parking is available at the rear of the building, which is noted to be sufficient for the restaurant's capacity. This is a practical detail that adds to the convenience for customers visiting the location.
The provision of a complimentary dessert, the taro soup with tapioca and coconut cream, is a notable feature that enhances the dining experience and offers a sweet conclusion to the meal. This thoughtful gesture can contribute to customer satisfaction and encourage repeat visits.

This is a Shantou family run restaurant. They speak English, Vietnamese, Cantonese, and some Mandarin. Their Hainan Chicken Rice (the rice is cooked with chicken broth, come with choice of house made dipping sauce) and the Spicy Vietnamese Beef Noodle Soup are the signature dishes on the menu along with some Cantonese and Vietnamese favorites: shrimp wonton in egg-noodle soup, deep-fried spring egg rolls, pan-fried daikon / radish cake, and fried rice dishes. The fish balls are fresh but are not chewy enough. They serve complimentary dessert. The taro soup with tapioca and coconut cream is tasty. The parking is at rear, suffice for this 48- seat capacity restaurant.
This is the worst Hainanese chicken rice I have ever had. The price including tax is $14.24, and there are only 6 small pieces of chicken with long hair on them. I will not eat it again.
Excellent Hainan Chicken Rice. Noodles and Pho are also excellent. Dinging room is bright and super clean. Great place !!
I ordered take out from here, and on a cold, rainy day the Bun Bo Hue really hit the spot!! The food and service were excellent, and the restaurant was very clean. I highly recommend this noodle spot!! I will be sure to try out their other dishes the next time I am here!!
The bun bo hue was good. The rice in the hainan chicken was bad though. Normally the rice is flavored and tastes like chicken but the rice in the hainan chicken was very bland.
