About Sunrise China

Welcome to Sunrise China, a Chinese restaurant located at 2602 US-411 #106, Maryville, TN 37801, USA. You can contact them at (865) 984-2508 or their mobile number +1 865-984-2508. Currently operating as a carryout-only establishment in adherence to social distancing guidelines, Sunrise China focuses on providing freshly cooked Chinese dishes for customers to enjoy off-premises.

Based on recent customer reviews, Sunrise China presents a somewhat contrasting experience. One customer who visited for lunch noted the small size of the store location within a strip mall and the absence of any waiting lines. They appreciated the prompt service, with their order being taken immediately and the cooking process starting right away. This suggests an efficient operation focused on quick service. The customer ordered the chicken lo mein with extra chicken and, despite the container appearing small, found it to be packed with a generous amount of food. They described the food as good, especially considering it was fast food and freshly cooked. Additional positives mentioned were the inclusion of a fortune cookie and the availability of various sauces (soy, duck, and mustard) in a self-serve box at the counter. The customer also noted that only two small napkins were provided, suggesting that messy eaters might want to request extra or bring their own. Overall, this reviewer found Sunrise China to be a good option for a quick and satisfying lunch.

However, another customer expressed a significantly negative opinion, labeling Sunrise China as the "worst place in Maryville." This reviewer claimed the food was inedible and of very poor quality ("dirt"). They also criticized the service as terrible, described the people negatively ("stink"), and found the atmosphere to be awful, comparing the experience of walking in to entering a "butcher house." This feedback presents a stark contrast to the positive experience of the other reviewer and suggests potential issues with food quality, service, and the overall environment of the establishment.

Considering these two very different perspectives, it is challenging to form a definitive overall assessment of Sunrise China. The information suggests that the restaurant is a small, carryout-focused establishment located in a strip mall. Currently, their service is limited to carryout due to social distancing measures. A potential strength appears to be the freshly cooked nature of their food and the generous portions, particularly for dishes like the chicken lo mein. The availability of self-serve sauces and fortune cookies are also mentioned as positives.

However, the strongly negative review raises serious concerns about food quality, service, atmosphere, and even hygiene ("dirt," "people stink," "walking into a butcher house"). This feedback cannot be ignored and suggests that some customers have had extremely unpleasant experiences at Sunrise China. It is important for potential customers to be aware of this negative feedback alongside the positive comments regarding food taste and portion size.

Given the limited information and the conflicting reviews, it's difficult to ascertain the typical experience at Sunrise China. The positive review highlights the potential for a quick, satisfying, and freshly prepared meal with generous portions, suitable for a lunch option. The negative review, however, paints a picture of inedible food, terrible service, and an unpleasant environment. It is possible that the experiences vary significantly, or that the negative review represents an isolated incident or a particularly critical perspective.

For local users in Maryville, TN, who are considering Sunrise China for a Chinese carryout meal, it would be prudent to weigh these contrasting opinions. If a quick and freshly cooked meal with generous portions is a priority and the store's small size and strip mall location are not deterrents, Sunrise China might be worth considering, especially for lunch. The self-serve sauce option could also be appealing to those who like to customize their flavor. However, the serious allegations in the negative review regarding food quality, service, and the environment should give potential customers pause. It might be advisable to proceed with caution or perhaps try a small order initially to assess the quality for oneself.

Without further information or more consistent reviews, it is impossible to definitively characterize the overall quality and experience at Sunrise China. The available feedback presents a dichotomy, with one customer satisfied with the food and service for a quick lunch, and another vehemently critical of virtually every aspect of the establishment. Local residents seeking a Chinese carryout option in Maryville may need to consider these differing viewpoints and potentially make their own judgment based on their individual priorities and risk tolerance. It is always a good practice to look for more recent reviews or perhaps inquire with local acquaintances for their experiences, if available.

In conclusion, Sunrise China offers Chinese carryout from a small location in a Maryville strip mall. One customer praised the quick service, freshly cooked and generously portioned chicken lo mein, and the availability of self-serve sauces. However, another customer described the restaurant as the "worst place in Maryville," citing inedible food, terrible service, and an awful atmosphere. Potential local customers should be aware of these contrasting opinions when considering Sunrise China for their next Chinese meal.

Went here for lunch today. Very small store location in a strip mall. No lines to wait. My order was taken right away and started in the back cooking. They are only offering carry out right now in observance of social distancing. I got the chicken lo mein with extra chicken. The container looked small. But it is packed with food. Really packed. The food was good. Especially for fast food and fresh cooked. They also gave a fortune cookie and I was able to get as much sauce as I wanted. The sauces like soy, duck and mustard are all in a box at the counter. They gave 2 small napkins. So, if you are a messy eater like me you may need to ask for extra napkins. Or be like me and carry extra in the car. Overall this is a good place to go for a quick lunch with enough food to satisfy.

Worst place in Maryville. Food is not edible and it’s dirt. Place needs to learn some lessons. Service is terrible. People stink. Atmosphere is terrible. Walking in feels like walking into a butcher house.

So we have eaten here a lot over the last 10 years, but the last two times we've gone there the food has not been up to snuff. This go around both my wife and myself got upset stomachs after eating the food. Also they were very busy and unfortunately after calling my order in and arriving on time I still waited another 10 minutes behind five other people to pick my order up and still had a half hour drive home . I think we're going to give this place a rest for a while.
