About Sunflower Garden

Welcome to Sunflower Garden, a Chinese restaurant located at 10410 Greenwood Ave N, Seattle, WA 98133, USA. If you find yourself in Seattle with a craving for satisfying Chinese takeout, Sunflower Garden stands out as a highly recommended spot. Based on customer reviews, this establishment excels in providing flavorful and well-prepared dishes that are perfect for enjoying in the comfort of your own home.

One of the dishes that receives particular praise is their orange chicken. Unlike many other establishments where the orange chicken might be heavily breaded and coated in an overly sweet sauce, Sunflower Garden's version is noted for its lighter breading and a truly authentic orange sauce. The crispy texture of the chicken paired with the genuine orange flavor makes it a standout choice for those who typically might not be fans of this popular American Chinese dish.

In addition to their exceptional orange chicken, Sunflower Garden also receives accolades for its fried rice. According to one reviewer, they have tried several varieties of fried rice from Sunflower Garden, and all have been consistently great. This suggests a mastery in preparing this staple Chinese dish, with attention to flavor, texture, and the quality of ingredients used across their different fried rice options.

Another highly recommended item on the menu is their beef chow fun. This classic Cantonese noodle dish typically features wide rice noodles stir-fried with tender beef, bean sprouts, scallions, and a savory sauce. The positive feedback indicates that Sunflower Garden's rendition of beef chow fun is flavorful and well-executed, making it another reliable choice for customers.

Beyond individual dishes, Sunflower Garden is also praised for the overall quality of their food when ordering multiple items for a gathering. One customer who ordered several dishes for guests reported that everything was "absolutely amazing." They specifically highlighted the chicken, noting that it was "super crispy on the outside" even after being marinated in sauce, and "extremely juicy on the inside." This is a testament to the restaurant's ability to maintain excellent texture and moisture in their chicken dishes, a crucial aspect that can often be challenging with takeout.

The same reviewer also raved about the mapo tofu, describing it as tasting like a "homemade meal you would want to eat on a cozy day." This suggests that Sunflower Garden's mapo tofu offers a comforting and authentic flavor profile, reminiscent of a dish lovingly prepared at home. Mapo tofu is a Sichuan specialty known for its bold and savory flavors, often with a hint of spice and the unique numbing sensation from Sichuan peppercorns. The positive description indicates that Sunflower Garden captures the essence of this dish effectively.

Based on these enthusiastic reviews, Sunflower Garden appears to be a Chinese restaurant that prioritizes the quality and flavor of their takeout offerings. The specific mentions of their lightly breaded and crispy orange chicken with real orange sauce, consistently great fried rice, flavorful beef chow fun, exceptionally crispy and juicy chicken in other dishes, and comforting homemade-tasting mapo tofu all point to a kitchen that takes pride in its preparations.

While the reviews primarily focus on the quality of the food for takeout, they also implicitly suggest a level of care and attention to detail in their cooking that would likely extend to any dine-in experience, should that be an option. The consistent positive feedback across multiple dishes indicates a reliable kitchen and a commitment to customer satisfaction.

The address at 10410 Greenwood Ave N places Sunflower Garden in a residential and commercial area of Seattle, making it a convenient option for those living or working nearby who are seeking high-quality Chinese takeout. The positive reviews suggest that it has become a go-to spot for those craving authentic and flavorful Chinese cuisine in the area.

No specific information is provided regarding the restaurant's ambiance or dine-in facilities, suggesting that their primary focus, at least based on the available reviews, is on takeout service. However, the consistently high praise for the food quality indicates that Sunflower Garden is a place where the taste and preparation of the dishes are paramount.

For local users in Seattle looking for a reliable Chinese restaurant for takeout, Sunflower Garden on Greenwood Ave N comes highly recommended. The standout orange chicken, excellent fried rice, flavorful beef chow fun, and the praised crispy chicken and homemade-tasting mapo tofu make it a compelling choice. If you’re craving Chinese takeout, this is the spot. I don’t like most places’ orange chicken but theirs is lightly breaded and crispy in a real orange sauce. Their fried rices (we’ve tried a few) are all great, so is their beef chow fun.

Ordered several items for guests I was having over. Everything was absolutely amazing. The chicken was super crispy on the outside (even with being marinated in sauce) and extremely juicy on the inside. The mapo tofu tasted like a homemade meal you would want to eat on a cozy day. Would highly recommend to anyone craving Chinese food :)

This location has a history of mediocre restaurants and this one is no different. We live nearby and had skipped this place for years, but after seeing a number of glowing reviews we thought we’d see if our assumptions were wrong. Nope! The one bright spot were the Pot Stickers, which others praised as well. We also ordered BBQ Buns, General Tso’s Chicken and Sesame Chicken. For both, the sauces tasted like the Hunt’s version of pasta sauce. Meaning they tasted nothing like you’d expect the sauce to taste and way too much sugar. We took the food to-go and ate at Flying Bike Brewing. After a bite of the BBQ bun, I put it down. I ate some of the Sesame Chicken because I was hungry. In the end, we tossed any leftovers we had. We can’t think of a reason to go back.

The general sauce is pretty good if you want a sweeter version of general, so just get the orange chicken, but I like both

The gyoza was amazing. It's pan fried so half crispy half soft. Super juicy. The pork in the pork chow mein was breaded, which isn't my thing, but it was pretty good. BBQ pork fried rice was surprisingly sweet and had great texture. The General Tso had huge chunks of chicken. It was not quite as crispy as I liked but it was very tasty. The wontons in chili oil was juicy like the gyoza but with the spicyness level turned up! Our order was ready right about as estimated time. You might not want to show up earlier than that as there is not really anywhere to wait inside without crowding the space. We waited in the parking lot and we had a pretty close spot. The lady who attended us was very talkative and very sweet. It seems like it is her and her husband running this place and she is very attentive as soon as you walk in. Would for sure come back, especially for the gyoza! 🥟
