Not so good. The overall experience fell short in many areas. First off, the food almost took an hour after we ordered. I know it's not fast food but that is too long. Especially when there are only 2-3 tables at the restaurant. When the food came , the igar bakar was mostly fat. There was some meat but not enough to get full. Also the igar did not come with rice either. We ordered the blue rice with chicken too. This dish is $15 and they only give you one drumstick chicken. Between the fatty igar bakar and the one drumstick chicken , that is terrible value. I can't knock the restaurant completely since the food is seasoned well and bathrooms are at least clean. But having to wait one hour for a small portion of food is disappointing. The value is just not there in time or in money. This restaurant is new so maybe they will improve but they have a lot of work to do.

I had an amazing dining experience at Sunda Kitchen! The atmosphere was warm and inviting, perfect for a cozy dinner. The owner was attentive and friendly, making sure we had everything we needed. The menu offered a great variety of dishes, and I tried the Nasi liwet komplit and Batagor Bandung, which was absolutely delicious—perfectly cooked and beautifully presented. Don’t miss the bir pletok either; it was the perfect way to end the meal! Overall, a fantastic spot for anyone looking for great food and a lovely ambiance. I can’t wait to come back!

Exceptional Dining Experience at Sunda Kitchen NJ! Sunda Kitchen NJ is a true gem! From the moment I stepped inside, I was greeted with a warm and welcoming atmosphere that perfectly balances modern charm with cozy comfort. The menu is thoughtfully curated, offering a wide variety of dishes that cater to all tastes. We tried Tahu Goreng,Nasi Biru ,Bagado ,Bakso Cuankhi , and every bite was packed with authentic Indonesian flavors and fresh ingredients. The presentation was stunning, and you can tell the chefs take pride in their craft. The service was top-notch—attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable. Our server went above and beyond to make recommendations and ensure our dining experience was flawless. The ambiance, combined with the excellent food and service, makes Sunda Kitchen NJ a must-visit spot. Whether you're planning a casual lunch or a special dinner, this place delivers on all fronts. I can’t wait to return and explore more of their amazing menu. Highly recommend! P.S my personal favorite was the Fried Tofu/Tahu Goreng! and we forgot to take pics since we drove all the way from NYC and famished 🤭!

I work in town and just happened to drive past this restaurant the past couple of days. While perth amboy is known for its latin cuisine, there is not much for asian food other than your run of the mill chinese takeout spots When I saw South East Asian I was intriguied. Decided to try with the family the other night and was pleasantly surprised. They are still in the process of a soft opening, so be paitient if you go. The food was not only different, but VERY good. The staff was friendly and inviting and gave us some great suggestions to try for the first time. All the food was made fresh and very tasty. I look forward to returning again to try some other items on the menu. I can't say anything about its authenticity as there are no other Indonesian restaurants around really to compare to. They even have some Thai dishes that were just as good as any I have had from my favorite Thai spots. To top it all off it is in one of the historic buildings in Perth Amboy. Amazing terracotta work outside, Original Bar and Tin Ceilings inside! I wish them the best of luck, as this town needs more stuff like this!
