Suki Hana Intro

Suki Hana is a Japanese Teriyaki chicken restaurant located inside the Garden State Plaza mall at One Garden State Plaza, FC6, Paramus, NJ 07652, USA. It occupies the former location of Sarku Japan.

Based on online reviews, Suki Hana offers a menu that includes Teriyaki chicken, beef, noodles, and shrimp, among other items. Initially reviewed positively on its opening day in March 2022, customers found the Teriyaki chicken delicious, noting it was slightly sweeter and less salty than Sarku's. The employees were described as friendly, and the prices were considered good at $9 per meal (excluding drinks and tax).

The restaurant is situated within the food court of Garden State Plaza, offering plenty of seating. A good drink selection was mentioned as a pro. However, drink prices were noted to be slightly high, consistent with the general pricing in the food court. Another early observation was that the service was a bit slow on the opening day, but still considered acceptable.

More recent reviews indicate a potential change in the recipe of their Teriyaki sauce. Multiple customers have reported that the sauce has become too salty and lacks sweetness, leading to disappointment and a consideration of not returning. One reviewer specifically requested the owner or manager to bring back the "sweet teriyaki sauce." Additionally, a customer mentioned receiving very small portions of chicken for a $12 meal.

Other points mentioned in the reviews include the use of real plastic straws (a pro at the time of the review) and the absence of plastic bags for takeout (considered a con). There is no specific promotional information available in the provided reviews. Potential local users should be aware of the recent feedback regarding portion sizes and the altered taste of the Teriyaki sauce when considering dining at Suki Hana.

They give very little portions of chicken for a meal you’re paying $12 for.

Knocking off 2 stars.. the sauce is now salty instead of sweet. And by salty, i mean too much salt unfortunately. I think i will skip suki hana next time im here. This was twice in a row now that the sauce is too salty and no sweetness at all. If the owner or manager reads this, please bring back the sweet teriyaki sauce. 5/21/2022 ** end of update ** Suki Hana is a great Japanese Teriyaki chicken restaurant inside the Garden State Plaza mall. This replaces Sarku Japan's spot. The chicken is delicious and they have other menu options too. I was here on the opening day in March 2022. The employees are friendly. The prices are very good at $9 per meal with tax(no drink). The drink prices are a bit high, but thats true of the entire food court. Since this was the first day, they were a little slow at making the food. But it was worth it! The chicken tastes a little better than Sarku and is a little more sweet and a little less salty too. Pros: Yummy Teriyaki chicken! Also have beef, noodles, shrimp and other items Good drink selection Friendly employees Acceptable speed, but a bit slow on opening day Great location Plenty of seating Real plastic straws!! Cons: Slightly pricy drinks(but same with entire food court) No plastic bags(not sure why not? Othet malls have plastic bags for takeout food. Common sense)

I got some miso ramen soup bowl from My Wife and it made her sick. She wasn't sure it was the food so when she ate the rest of her food it made her sick again. It's no wonder there was no line when I went here.

I am surprised at the bad reviews for this place. Of all the options at the garden state mall food court, this place is one of the few healthy ones, precisely because it is not drenched in heavy, excessively sweet teriyaki sauce or gravy or fried, like the other asian options. Every time i am in this food court, i see a long line for this place- and it's not because it is the cheapest, as people have mistakenly implied here. The food is just cleaner and healthier. A lot of people that work at the mall order from here. Don't compare this place with Sarku, which is like the cheesecake factory option. And they don't use MSG. And I have never gotten sick from undercooked food from this place.
