About Sukhothai Thai Restaurant Express II

Sukhothai Thai Restaurant Express II, located at 15082 Potranco Rd Suite 112 in San Antonio, Texas, offers a selection of Thai cuisine. While the platform category is listed as Chinese Restaurant, Sukhothai Thai Restaurant Express II specializes in authentic Thai flavors.

Customer experiences appear to be mixed. One reviewer expressed disappointment with the hot and sour soup, finding it excessively salty, lacking spice, and missing rice. They also noted that the shrimp was tough and indicated they would not return.

In contrast, another customer had a more positive first-time experience. They found the place clean and were promptly greeted and seated. They enjoyed the fresh shrimp spring rolls with peanut sauce, despite noting they were very thick and the rice paper was torn upon arrival. The flavor, however, was described as very tasty with the peanut sauce. The Drunken Noodles spicy hot with shrimp were also well-received for their heat and delicious flavors, although this customer felt the portion of shrimp was skimpy. The seafood salad without squid was liked by another diner for its tangy dressing. Overall, this reviewer found all three dishes to be very good and indicated a willingness to return, suggesting the food quality is a draw.

However, this same customer also noted some issues with service. They had to request small plates for the spring rolls, which were provided with an eye roll from the server. Extra napkins were also requested but never received. The server reportedly only checked on the table once and did not offer additional assistance. While acknowledging the need for improvement in people skills, the customer felt the food was good enough for a return visit.

For local users in San Antonio, TX, Sukhothai Thai Restaurant Express II offers a range of Thai dishes with some positive feedback on flavor and quality. However, potential customers should be aware of mixed reviews regarding consistency in food preparation (saltiness, spice level) and service attentiveness. Unfortunately, the soup did not meet my expectations. It was excessively salty and completely devoid of spice, and there was no rice included. To make matters worse, the shrimp was quite tough. Regrettably, I do not plan to return. I had ordered hot and sour soup, but it lacked any spiciness.

First time eating here. Place was clean. We were greeted and seated right away. We ordered the fresh shrimp spring rolls with peanut sauce. They were very thick. Rice paper was torn when brought out. But very tasty with the peanut sauce. I ordered the Drunken Noodles spicy hot with shrimp. They did skimp out on the shrimp. Good heat to it and flavors were very delicious. Hubby got the seafood salad without the squid. The dressing had a tangy taste. He liked it very much. Overall, all 3 dishes were very good. We had to ask for small plates for the springs. None were given to us. The guy rolled his eyes but brought them to us. And we asked for extra napkins. Never asked if you would like anything. Checked on us only once. Can work on his people skills. Food is good enough for us to go back.

What a pleasant surprise find to find some good Thai food on this side of town. My wife and I stopped by to give this new location a try, and the meal was delicious. Service is good, and although the parking lot was a bit small, there were a few open spots when we arrived. Definitely a must try if in the area. I just wish they had some tasty dessert options.

The food was good overall. The red curry was too hot for me at its mildest but tasted good. If you like your curry hot make sure to add extra meat and veggies to the curry; it was lacking in meat and was mostly green peppers. The pad Thai noodles were excellent. We had the chicken and the beef. The customer service was exceptional. I couldn't eat the curry, and they didn't charge me. They’re off to a good start. I would return (it’s walking distance from me). I would recommend trying this place at least once.

A really good restaurant. The food is very good. All fresh and hot and full of flavor. The pot stickers excellent, fried well, thin shell, and moist chicken inside. The pad Thai (child’s portion shown) fresh and hot, really tasty. The Thai dish pad pak was great also; heat options were medium, hot, or Thai hot. I chose medium, and it had a nice spice that enhanced the flavor. A large portion of freshly cooked veg and meat. A small restaurant, but busy enough when we were there. Also a steady stream of to go and DoorDash orders going out, but we still got our plates within 15 minutes. Very helpful staff, nice clean place, reasonably priced. Now we want to go back to try the Chinese dishes they offer. Highly recommend!
