Street Food Thai Market is a restaurant located at 1010 W Cavalcade St Unit D in Houston, Texas. While listed under the category of Chinese Restaurant, customer reviews indicate that it specializes in Thai cuisine, aiming to capture the authentic flavors of Thai street food. Recent customer reviews suggest that Street Food Thai Market is a "delightful hidden gem" offering a genuine taste of Thailand. One reviewer, who visited on Sunday, April 6, 2025, highlighted the restaurant's BYOB policy (a pro tip for places without alcohol on the menu), which allowed their group to enhance their dining experience. Arriving early helped them secure limited parking and a large table before the restaurant got busy.

The food received high praise, with the Khao Soi Kai (ordered mild but leaning towards medium spice) described as an "explosion of rich, vibrant, creamy flavors." The mild Massaman curry with chicken was also noted as delectable, though less spicy. Another reviewer echoed the sentiment of authentic Thai flavors, reminiscent of street food experienced in Koh Samui. They also commended the reasonable prices, excellent portion sizes, and incredible flavor.

While the food was generally well-received, one reviewer noted some service hiccups, including forgotten side rice for two curries and a delayed fried rice dish. However, the overall experience was still considered "superb," and the reviewer deemed it "well worth exploring" for those seeking an unassuming, BYOB-friendly spot with culinary treasures.

Another customer found the staff to be attentive and polite, and noted ample seating during a lunch crowd. They expressed their intention to return to try more items on the extensive menu.

In conclusion, Street Food Thai Market appears to be a highly recommended spot in Houston for those seeking authentic and flavorful Thai cuisine at reasonable prices. The BYOB option is a notable feature. While there were minor service issues reported in one instance, the overall customer experience seems to be overwhelmingly positive, with many praising the quality and authenticity of the food.

Sunday 4/6/25: This mini mart and restaurant proved itself a delightful hidden gem! Earlier today, I called to inquire about BYOB - pro tip: if there’s no alcohol listed on the menu, it's possible they allow it. BYOB was permitted, so our group of seven arrived for dinner fully equipped with beers and Kirkland margaritas - a fantastic addition to our evening. Arriving early at 4:30pm, six of us snagged both limited parking spots and a large table without waiting - though the place was starting to fill up. I decided on the Khao Soi Kai, ordering it "mild." While the spice leaned more towards medium, it was perfect for my palate - an explosion of rich, vibrant, creamy flavors! My husband went for the "mild" Massaman curry with chicken, which was less spicy yet delectable. The only hiccups to an otherwise superb food experience was the service. The side rice for two of the curries was forgotten entirely, and one person’s fried rice dish never arrived until we reminded the staff. If you’re searching for an unassuming, BYOB-friendly gem packed with culinary treasures, it’s well worth exploring! 🤤🌟

The reviews for this place did not disappoint! It's an unassuming little spot with an extensive menu. The prices are very reasonable, the portion sizes are excellent, and the flavor was incredible! It was truly reminiscent of the street food that I had in Koh Samui! So very good! The staff was attentive and polite and there was plenty of seating for a lunch crowd. I will definitely be returning to try other items on the menu!

Overall, I was more impressed during my first visit, but this time I was very let down by the fried rice that didn’t seem like it was fried. It seemed like it was just mixed together. It also had a flavor I couldn’t place but it was not typical for Thai fried rice (lived multiple years in Thailand). The Moo Tod was pretty good but not very flavorful like Moo Dat Deo. Nice big pieces but I have always seen it with smaller pieces to reduce toughness. The place is clean and the staff is super friendly. I’ll eventually try it again because maybe the curries and other items are more the specialty.

One of my favorite Thai places in Houston for good value food. Rich with flavor and spice, so be a bit careful if you have low spice tolerance. It can be a bit crowded and you may have a small wait. The spicy soup dishes are my personal favorite!
