Based on the limited information available from recent online customer reviews, experiences at Stir Fry 88 appear to be mixed, with some indications of changes over time. Potential customers should consider these perspectives when making their dining choices.

One long-time customer shared a sense of nostalgia for past experiences at Stir Fry 88. They recalled a time when a special of $7.99 for two entrees provided a generous amount of food, which earned the restaurant a five-star rating in their memory. However, they noted a change in pricing and portion sizes, stating that the current price of $10.99 for two entrees results in what they perceive as significantly less food. Despite this perceived reduction in portion size relative to the price, the customer still found the food to be "pretty good." They also mentioned ordering a single entree priced at $8.99, which they felt was not worth the cost compared to the portions they used to receive.

Another reviewer provided feedback on several specific dishes. They mentioned that the location was previously known as Hunan Chicken, which was known for its "best bourbon chicken." However, under the new name of Stir Fry 88, their experience with other dishes was less consistent. The Mongolian chicken was described as "okay," while the noodles were deemed "meh," suggesting a lack of strong positive or negative impression. The orange chicken, on the other hand, was rated as "pretty good." The reviewer also tasted the kung pao chicken, which they found "too spicy" for their preference. Lastly, they noted that the general tso's chicken was "not good," indicating a negative experience with this particular popular dish.

The available reviews do not provide any information regarding the restaurant's environment or ambiance for dine-in customers, suggesting that Stir Fry 88 may primarily focus on takeout service. Details about any unique features of the restaurant, such as specific culinary specialties or preparation styles beyond the dishes mentioned, are also absent from the provided text. Similarly, there is no information about any current promotional offers or discounts that Stir Fry 88 might be providing to attract customers.

In summary, the recent customer feedback for Stir Fry 88 in Pineville, NC, presents a somewhat nuanced picture. One long-time customer acknowledges that the food is still "pretty good" but expresses concern over reduced portion sizes for the price compared to past experiences. Another reviewer offers a dish-by-dish assessment, with some items receiving positive feedback (orange chicken), some being considered average (Mongolian chicken, noodles), and others receiving negative feedback (kung pao chicken - too spicy, general tso's chicken - not good). The historical context of the location previously being known for a specific dish (bourbon chicken) is also noted.

For local users considering Stir Fry 88, it would be prudent to weigh these recent opinions. The discrepancy in perceived value due to portion sizes and the mixed reviews on different dishes suggest that the experience may vary depending on individual preferences and choices. Without further information on the restaurant's overall environment, unique features, or any ongoing promotions, potential customers must rely on these limited recent experiences to form their expectations.

As a Chinese restaurant in Pineville offering takeout, Stir Fry 88 provides a convenient option for those seeking this type of cuisine. However, the feedback regarding portion sizes relative to price and the inconsistent ratings of various dishes are important factors for local users to consider when making their decision.

So years ago I would’ve given five stars but it’s a different time now. Back then they use to give you food for 7.99 as a special for two entrees and they give you a lot of food now their price is 10.99 for two entrees and they hardly give you any, at least that’s how I feel but none of the less the foods still pretty good. I got one entree that was 8.99 and it in my opinion isn’t worth it compared to how much they used to give.

Beware of the price they charge. I got the combo 1 w 1 side and 1 protein. The guy marked the box and the cashier tried to charge for the 2 combo deal for $11.39. The cashier look annoyed when I corrected them on the cost. They all look up and looked at each other like they do this all the time. Please pay attention when ordering. The cashier hurriedly check me out but I had no chance to tap no tip, so I better not see any extra charges.

Customer service seems nice but the food is too expensive to taste so watered down. The rice had no flavor , the meat was not good at all which they all looked and tasted the same. Lomain was Ok but def won't ever be coming back. I should've tried the Japanese restaurant beside it. Maybe next time .
