About Spring China
Welcome to Spring China, a Chinese restaurant serving the Kansas City, Missouri area from its location at 6821 Longview Rd. As a local Chinese restaurant, Spring China offers a variety of dishes for those seeking the flavors of Asian cuisine. For inquiries or to place an order, you can contact them at (816) 765-8668 or +1 816-765-8668.
Based on recent customer reviews, the environment and current operating status of Spring China appear to be noteworthy. One reviewer stated that the establishment is "still locked up from COVID" and does not allow customers inside, regardless of weather conditions. This suggests that Spring China is currently operating on a take-out only basis, requiring customers to wait outside for their orders. The same reviewer also described the exterior, noting that "the windows and doors are filthy, and what you can see of the inside looks no better." This paints a concerning picture of the restaurant's cleanliness and upkeep, at least from an external perspective. This information is crucial for local users to be aware of before considering ordering from Spring China, as it significantly impacts the customer experience.
In terms of services, the primary service currently seems to be take-out. The review explicitly mentions the inability to go inside and having to wait outside for the order. While one positive review mentioned friendly staff, the more critical review described the service as delivered with "disdain" and the family that owns the place as "rude to put it mildly." This stark contrast in service experiences suggests potential inconsistencies in customer interaction depending on individual encounters. It is important for potential customers to be aware of these differing opinions on service quality.
Customer feedback on the food quality at Spring China is also sharply divided. One reviewer had a highly negative experience, describing the food as tasting like "the disdain with which they serve you." They reported that the food was cold, and the shrimp fried rice had an offensive odor, likened to a "yeast infection," with a taste that matched the smell. The spring rolls were described as "crispy on the outside but mushy and gross inside." This reviewer strongly criticized the food quality and the prices, deeming them "insane for the horrible food and attitude." This paints a very unfavorable picture of several key dishes.
Conversely, another reviewer had a very positive experience, specifically praising the chow mein as "fantastic." They described the noodles as "perfectly cooked" with "rich and delicious" flavors. This reviewer also found the staff to be friendly and the service quick, recommending Spring China as a "great spot for a tasty meal." This positive feedback highlights that some customers have had satisfactory culinary experiences at this restaurant, particularly with the chow mein.
Currently, there is no promotional information available for Spring China in the provided reviews. Given the strong negative feedback regarding food quality and service in one review, and the positive experience in another focusing on a specific dish, it is difficult to ascertain any consistent features that might serve as unique selling points. The fact that the restaurant is reportedly operating on a take-out only basis due to COVID restrictions is a significant current feature. However, the cleanliness concerns raised by one reviewer could be a major deterrent for many potential customers.
The significant disparity in customer experiences at Spring China makes it challenging to provide a definitive overall assessment. While one customer found the chow mein excellent and the service friendly, another described a thoroughly negative experience with multiple dishes, service, and the restaurant's cleanliness and operating conditions. The strong negative review raises serious concerns about food safety, hygiene, and customer service, while the positive review suggests that at least some dishes can be well-prepared and enjoyable.
For local users considering Spring China, it is crucial to weigh these contrasting opinions. The reported take-out only service and the concerning description of the restaurant's cleanliness might deter some customers outright. Others might be willing to try specific dishes like the chow mein based on the positive feedback. However, the negative review's strong claims about food quality and service should not be ignored. Given the lack of recent updates on their operational status regarding indoor dining and the conflicting reports, proceeding with caution and perhaps trying a small order initially might be a prudent approach.
In conclusion, Spring China in Kansas City presents a complex picture based on the available reviews. While one customer raved about the chow mein and friendly service, another detailed a very negative experience with cold, foul-smelling food, poor service, and concerns about cleanliness. The restaurant is reportedly operating on a take-out only basis. Potential customers should be aware of these conflicting reports and the described operating conditions before deciding to order from Spring China. For any current promotions or to inquire about their operating status, contacting them directly at (816) 765-8668 is recommended.

This place is awful. The food tastes like the disdain with which they serve you. Still locked up from COVID. You can't go in, rain or shine. You have to stand outside which is fine. Because, the windows and doors are filthy, and what you can see of the inside looks no better. The food was cold, and the shrimp fried rice smelled like it had a yeast infection. Yes, it tastes as bad as it smelled. The spring rolls were crispy on the outside but mushy and gross inside. This place charges way too much for zero effort. The prices are insane for the horrible food and attitude you get from here. The family that owns the place are rude to put it mildly. I will not be going back. Hell. I'm surprised they haven't been shut down already. Good luck, if for some reason you have to eat here.
I had the chow mein at this restaurant, and it was fantastic! The noodles were perfectly cooked, and the flavors were rich and delicious. The staff was friendly, and the service was quick. Definitely a great spot for a tasty meal. Highly recommend!
Place is filthy and run down. The guy at the counter is extremely rude. Food is okay at best. Zero heat in the lobby. It was 20° outside, and it was not more than 50° in the lobby. That's being nice. The lo mein noodles were so overcooked. It smelled and tasted HORRIBLE. The seafood was the catch from months ago, way over cooked and looked and tasted nasty. This is by far the WORST food I have ever had in my life and way too expensive. It's not worth it at all.
Warning do not eat here they have drastically change the quality of the food and RAISED all the prices $$ I used to eat here all the time if not two times a week but lately the food has been nasty the chicken is always soggy the breading is falling off! Everybite i have to spit out somthing I can’t not chew! 🤢 not sure if they went with another supplier since Covid if so… BIG MISTAKE! Also they changed availability to walk in you can no longer walk in and see your food being made they have a door that you nowc have to ring and a lady comes up to the door to take your payment method this place has went downhill I don’t recommend this to anyone if I could give no stars I would, I wouldn’t be surprised if Spring China went out of business soon! Below is a picture of crab Rangoon that I cannot even chew because it’s so Chewy and soaked in grease it’s an edible
Ordered shrimp egg foo young! Had the smallest shrimp you can find in the world in it: and you can most definitely tell that the price of eggs have gone through the roof couldn't barely find shrimp or egg
