About Spicy Style of Sichuan
Welcome to Spicy Style of Sichuan, your gateway to authentic and exhilarating Sichuan cuisine right here in Seattle. Located at 13200 Aurora Ave N suite d, our restaurant, categorized under Chinese Restaurants on our platform, specializes in delivering the bold and distinctive flavors that Sichuan province is renowned for. If you are a fan of genuine, fiery dishes that pack a flavorful punch, then Spicy Style of Sichuan is a culinary adventure waiting to be explored.
One of the defining characteristics of Spicy Style of Sichuan, as highlighted by a recent customer, is its commitment to serving "real Szechuan foods." This authenticity means that the dishes are prepared with traditional ingredients and techniques, resulting in the intense and often tongue-tingling spiciness that is characteristic of this regional Chinese cuisine. For those who appreciate authentic flavors but are sensitive to heat, it's reassuring to know that the restaurant is accommodating, with a customer advising to "ask them less pepper" when placing your order. This indicates a willingness to tailor the spice level to individual preferences, ensuring that more diners can enjoy the delicious offerings.
In terms of the dining environment, a customer noted that the place is "pretty clean" but can be "little noisy." This suggests a bustling and perhaps lively atmosphere, which is not uncommon in authentic ethnic restaurants where the focus is primarily on the food and the experience of sharing a meal. While the cleanliness is a definite plus, those seeking a quiet and intimate dining setting might want to be aware of the potential for noise.
The menu at Spicy Style of Sichuan features a variety of classic Sichuan dishes. One customer shared their experience with two specific items: the boiled spicy fish fillets and the spicy crisp pork tripe. Both of these dishes were described as delicious and substantial, with a reported serving size of "like 2-3 serving size." This indicates that the portions are generous, making them ideal for sharing or for those with a hearty appetite. The fact that these dishes are explicitly mentioned as "very hot and spicy" reinforces the restaurant's name and its culinary focus.
Another enthusiastic reviewer raved about the stir-fried beef, describing it as "so tender and flavorful." The addition of cilantro was particularly appreciated, as it contributed an "extra fragrance" to the dish. While this reviewer also noted that the stir-fried beef was "a bit spicy" to their palate, they still found it to be "good." This again underscores the inherent spiciness of the cuisine while also highlighting the deliciousness of the flavors that accompany the heat. The cauliflower dish also received a positive mention, with the recommendation to "stir a bit so every piece is fully cooked," suggesting a dish where even the vegetables are prepared with care and attention to detail.
To provide a balanced culinary experience, Spicy Style of Sichuan also offers options to cool down the palate after the fiery main courses. The "jelly with brown sugar sauce" was described as a "perfect ending" to the meal. This dessert was noted for being "not too sweet" and effective in erasing the spiciness in the mouth. The only suggestion for improvement was that the jelly could be "slightly icy," indicating a minor preference rather than a criticism of the dish itself. This thoughtful inclusion of a cooling dessert demonstrates an understanding of the intensity of Sichuan flavors and a desire to provide a well-rounded meal.
Spicy Style of Sichuan, located on Aurora Ave N, offers a specific culinary niche within the broader spectrum of Chinese restaurants in Seattle. Its dedication to authentic Sichuan flavors, particularly the bold spiciness that defines the cuisine, sets it apart. The positive reviews regarding the deliciousness of the dishes, even with their heat, suggest that the flavor profiles are complex and satisfying for those who enjoy this style of cooking. The willingness to adjust the spice level upon request is also a significant feature, making the restaurant more accessible to a wider range of diners.
The generous portion sizes, as noted in the review of the fish fillets and pork tripe, indicate good value for money and make Spicy Style of Sichuan a potential option for sharing meals among groups. The mention of a slightly noisy but clean environment suggests a casual and authentic dining atmosphere where the focus is on the food and the social experience of eating together.

Real Szechuan foods - delicious but very hot and spicy. If you don't want too spicy, ask them less pepper. The place is pretty clean but little noisy. I ordered boiled spicy fish fillets and spicy crisp pork tripe. Both are like 2-3 serving size.
Love the stir-fried beef, so tender and flavorful. The cilantro really adds extra fragrance to the dish, it’s a bit spicy to me but still good. Cauliflower is also tasty, make sure to stir a bit so every piece is fully cooked. The jelly with brown sugar sauce is a perfect ending for our meal, it’s not too sweet and erase the spiciness in my mouth. Although I wish it could be slightly icy.
This is the place I go when I’m craving something spicy. As the name suggests, the food here is mostly spicy. If you’re not used to spicy food, I’d recommend trying a little first, or you might get a stomach ache. The service is okay, don’t expect too much, but I appreciate how they pack your leftovers for you. The portions are big and the prices are cheap, which is great. I absolutely love the Spicy Crispy Chicken Gristles. Overall, highly recommended for anyone who loves spicy food!
Food is spicy for sure! Definitely has a unique taste to its Sichuan food compared to other places. Service was quick, efficient. Place is clean and they aren’t stingy on napkins. Tables are typical set and ready to eat at with water, cups, plates and chopsticks. Bonus points for being available up north from Seattle. If you have to wait for a seat, a good thing is that it’s located inside the Asian Family grocery store to spend time. Food favor is a bit flat but still tasty, sure tastes less salty (which is a good thing in this case) however food is missing those numbing peppers you’d normally expect.
If you love spicy food and want to try authentic Sichuan cuisine, this is the perfect place to visit. Believe it or not, it feels just like being in China
