Customer Reviews
For Long Island, this chinese restaurant is fairly good. I have been to the original Spicy Home Tasty in Commack and I still prefer that one. However, this one is closer to me. So I decided to try it. The first time I had take-out and I was not pleased but as with most restaurant foods, it tastes best if you eat in. This review is based of the second time I decided to eat at the restaurant. I had four dishes. The first was the fried Wonton. I took one bite and could not continue eating it. Their Wonton wrap is the typical Chinese take out Wonton wrap. It's thick with little inside. The second was a tofu hotpot. This one was great. Tasted great and truly enjoyed it. I also had the Hunan chicken. This one I really enjoyed. Chicken was perfect. Not to salty. Very good. The last dish was Moo Shu Vegetable. Not bad. Nothing to really say about this one. Long Island Chinese restaurants have come a long way. Most are still terrible but it's take out food. They still don't compare to NYC/Queens Chinese restaurants but they are becoming much better.
I've been searching for great chinese food on LI - and I just found it here. Truly delicious experience. The spicy (sichuan) chicken was so crunchy and delicious. The lo mein were flavored well and so good. They give you hot tea and pickled cabbage at the beginning of your meal and fortune cookies at the end - all around lovely experience. The restaurant itself is done well, too - with separators and spacing that add decor. They did forget one of our dishes until we were basically done with our meal unfortunately so they did lose a service star there. But to err is human :) Will absolutely be back!
Probably one of the best meals ive ever had in terms of authentic chinese cuisine... exquisite umami and tender meat... I go around to many restaurants and try many foods and this place is definitely a hidden gem that i decided to come by on a random weekday because I was hungry and was craving something from my home country.
Our first time here. Decent sized, open restaurant, clean. Our server was very friendly. We got our drinks with a pot of tea and complimentary pickled salad instead of typical wonton crisps and duck sauce. For appetizers, we ordered the Honey Ribs and Fried Pork Dumplings. Ribs were sticky and sweet, perfectly charred. Pork dumplings were large and equally, perfectly fried all around, giving them a nice, crunchy bite. They were filled with a delicious Pork mixture. My husband ordered the Pepper Steak for dinner with pork fried rice. The fried rice was nice and dark, with large pieces of pork meat. He enjoyed the tender, thinly sliced, flavorful pepper steak. I ordered the King of the Sea, which came with Lobster, scallops, shrimp and (imitation) crab meat in a brown sauce. Delicious! It's so hard to find really good, consistent Chinese Food. This was a great experience, and we will definitely be back.
The food was soo good! The service was great, ambience was nice, and the food was just.. Chef's kiss! We had a lunch menu kung pao chicken (with hot and sour soup), and a (vegetarian) tofu dry pot. We were so happy and smiling coming out after eating.
