About Spice Wok

Spice Wok is a charming Indo-Chinese restaurant located at 440 US-130, East Windsor, NJ 08520. Known for its unique blend of Indian and Chinese culinary traditions, Spice Wok offers an authentic dining experience that caters to families, friends, and large groups. The restaurant features floor-to-ceiling glass windows, providing a scenic view of the exterior while you enjoy your meal.

What sets Spice Wok apart is its innovative approach to service. Orders are taken by traditional waiters, but food is served by a robot server, adding a fun and modern twist to the dining experience. The robot moves slowly through the restaurant, making it an ideal spot for families with children who might be intrigued by this unique feature.

Spice Wok's menu boasts an extensive selection of Indo-Chinese dishes, each offering large portions at affordable prices. Regulars often recommend dishes like drums of Heaven (chicken drumsticks), crispy chili baby corn, and tempura ice cream, which are enough to satisfy even the largest appetites. The restaurant is particularly popular among families, as two entrees can easily feed a family of three, especially when paired with appetizers. Many diners appreciate how filling the portions are, allowing them to enjoy a hearty meal without overspending.

While Spice Wok strives to provide an excellent dining experience, there have been occasional reports of certain dishes being unavailable due to inventory issues. However, these instances are rare and do not detract from the overall positive experience. The menu remains extensive, offering something for everyone, including popular items like Momos, Mongolian beef, chili shrimp, chicken 65, and orange chicken.

Customers have praised Spice Wok's ability to accommodate large groups, with one group of 12 diners highlighting the restaurant's suitability for big gatherings. The friendly service and delicious food made their visit memorable, especially their favorite dish, lollipop chicken, which has received glowing reviews from many guests.

One helpful tip for first-time visitors is to bring your own water bottles, as the restaurant does not provide tap water. Most diners find this a minor inconvenience compared to the overall enjoyable experience.

Overall, Spice Wok offers an authentic and engaging dining experience that combines the best of Indian and Chinese cuisines with modern twists like robot service and generous portions. Whether you're visiting for a family dinner or a night out with friends, Spice Wok is sure to impress your taste buds and leave you with lasting memories.

  • Generous Portions: Large enough to feed families, especially when ordering two entrees and appetizers.
  • Friendly Service: Welcoming staff and a fun robot server make the dining experience enjoyable for all ages.

This is a casual Indo-Chinese restaurant with floor-to-ceiling glass windows, providing a nice view of the exterior. Orders are taken by a waiter, as normal, but the food is served with a robot server. The robot goes very slowly, so there's no reason to be scared of it. This place is great for families, friends, and large groups. The food comes in huge portions for a good price, and is very tasty. The tempura ice cream is enough for two, and as our server mentioned, 2 entrees are about 25 oz, so enough for a family of three like us, especially with appetizers. We ordered the drums of Heaven (chicken drumsticks), crispy chilli baby corn, stir fry beef, combo fried rice, Manchurian shrimp, and fried ice cream, which came out to $113 including the service charge. We ended up packing one entree and one appetizer, and were insanely full by the end, so you could definitely just order fewer dishes and have a bill closer to $70 for three people. On the day we went, several of the dishes were unavailable, e.g. they were out of paneer. Since we came before the dinner rush and were the only people there, I felt this didn't reflect the best planning or inventory strategy. If a restaurant ends up out of a certain item, I'd expect it to be midway through dinner, not before dinner has even started. Still, the menu is expansive, and the food (especially the baby corn and chicken drumsticks) was great, so I'd recommend a visit anyway. One thing to note: I'd highly recommend bringing your own water bottles, as there's no tap water, only bottled water that you have to pay for. I didn't know this, as it was my first time, but we saw that most other families brought their own water bottles.

Ignore all the negative reviews, We are a group of 12 and we still chose Spice wok because of the large seating, and we are glad. Thanks for the good service and yummy food. Lollipop chicken was talked about a lot in the reviews, but it's Just different than the normal lollipop chicken it's great. Otherwise, the Momos, Mongolian beef, chili shrimp, chicken 65, orange chicken, etc, were all scrumptious.

I recently dined at your restaurant and was disappointed with the experience. The food was unsatisfactory, the portion sizes were too small to be reasonable, and the service was lacking—even basic necessities like water weren’t provided. Despite this, an 18% service charge was added to the bill. I’d appreciate clarification on your service charge policy and hope you take this feedback into account to improve the dining experience for future patrons

I am order at least once or twice a week from Spicewok. That is how good the food is. The burnt garlic friend rice and the wet chilli chicken are to die for. Reminds of home and it feels so comforting. The other starters like chicken drumsticks and shrimp, and mango spicy chicken are amazing too. Definitely a must try restaurant.
