About Speedy Wok

Speedy Wok is a Chinese restaurant situated within the Washington Square Mall, located at 625 Washington Square Mall, Washington, NC 27889, USA. Operating under the platform category of Chinese Restaurants, Speedy Wok aims to provide local users and visitors with a variety of Chinese culinary options. They can be contacted at (252) 975-8118 or via mobile phone at +1 252-975-8118.

Based on the limited customer feedback available online, experiences at Speedy Wok appear to be varied. One reviewer who stopped for a quick lunch while traveling reported being happy with their choices and noted great service. This suggests that positive experiences can occur, particularly for those seeking a quick meal. However, this positive feedback is accompanied by a specific piece of information regarding payment: Speedy Wok has a $10 minimum for credit card transactions, which is an important detail for potential customers to be aware of, especially those intending to make smaller purchases.

In contrast to the positive quick lunch experience, another customer shared a significantly negative encounter during their first visit. This detailed account raises several concerns regarding food quality, menu accuracy, and customer service. The reviewer mentioned ordering the house Chow Mein, house Fried Rice, garlic chicken wings, and jumbo shrimp, based on the appealing descriptions in the menu. However, upon arriving home after a one-hour drive, the customer reported significant discrepancies between the menu descriptions and the food received.

According to this review, the "jumbo" shrimp were described as flat, fried, and hard, resembling "butterfly shrimp from Walmart." The garlic chicken wings were reportedly barbecue flavored and burnt, which contradicted the expectation of garlic-flavored wings. The house Chow Mein was described as being predominantly white rice mixed with overcooked and wilted vegetables and an unidentified type of meat.

Following this disappointing discovery, the customer recounted calling the restaurant and then driving back for an hour and a half to address the issues. The interaction upon returning was described as confrontational, with an employee allegedly yelling at the customer and insisting that the order was correct. The customer maintained that the received food did not align with standard preparations of Chow Mein (which typically does not consist primarily of white rice) and garlic chicken (which is not usually barbecue-based). The discrepancy regarding the size and preparation of the shrimp was also reiterated.

The situation escalated when the customer requested a refund. The employee reportedly cited a "no refund" sign. Despite the customer's dissatisfaction with the misrepresented and poorly prepared food, a refund was initially refused. The situation then led to the police being called. According to the reviewer, the responding officer intervened, suggesting a partial refund. Ultimately, the customer received over half of their money back, and the entire order was given to their friend. This detailed account paints a picture of potentially significant issues with food quality, menu accuracy, and customer service handling at Speedy Wok.

Considering these contrasting experiences, it is difficult to form a definitive picture of the typical environment and services at Speedy Wok. The positive comment suggests that a quick and satisfactory lunch service is possible. However, the detailed negative review raises serious concerns about the consistency and quality of the food preparation, the accuracy of the menu descriptions, and the approach to customer service when issues arise. There is no information provided about the restaurant's ambiance or dine-in facilities, although its location within a mall food court often implies a casual and functional setting rather than a formal dining atmosphere.

Given the limited and conflicting information, it is not possible to ascertain any specific features or unique selling points of Speedy Wok beyond its location within Washington Square Mall and the availability of standard Chinese takeout fare. The menu items mentioned – house Chow Mein, house Fried Rice, garlic chicken wings, and jumbo shrimp – appear to be typical offerings for a Chinese restaurant. However, the reported discrepancies in their preparation and quality are significant factors for potential customers to consider.

Similarly, there is no information available regarding any promotional offers or discounts that Speedy Wok might be running. Customers interested in such details would need to inquire directly when placing their orders.

In conclusion, Speedy Wok in Washington, NC, located in Washington Square Mall, offers Chinese cuisine for potentially quick meals. While one customer reported positive service and satisfaction with their choices, another detailed a severely negative experience involving misrepresented food, poor quality, and confrontational customer service. Potential customers should be aware of the $10 credit card minimum and the possibility of inconsistencies in food quality and menu accuracy based on the available review. It would be prudent to inquire about the specifics of dishes when ordering and to check the order thoroughly before leaving the premises.

Stopped for a quick lunch while traveling. Was happy with my choices and the service was great. Just a word of warning, they have a $10 credit card minimum.

My very first visit, I was a little banished.I went straight to the menu.Everything on the menu seems so yummy.I decided to try the house Chow Mein the house Fried Rice. The garlic chicken wings and jumbo shrimp as I said, the menu sounds good. I drove an hour to get home and when I got there open the bag. The shrimp were not jumbo they were. Flat fried sauce fried, so hard.Sound like crackers open the chicken box.It was barbecue and burnt. Next, the Chow mait was so stuffed with white rice and some vegetables That looked over cooked and wilted. And a mystery type of meat thrown in there. I immediately called told them what I seen and then I had to turn around and drive another hour and a 1/2. Upon my arrival, the young lady or old lady took everything out of the bag and began yelling at me. Telling me that was what I ordered. I stayed calm and told her no. I have never had Chow main filled with white rice flooded. With white rice and garlic chicken is not in a red gooey based substance. And I don't know what to say about the shrimp. They were not jumbo. They looked like shrimp from Walmart that they call butterfly shrimp. The menu was false. Please when you go in there you have to tell them to describe their food because what you get in the containers may make you so mad. But the end result was she said. Did you read the signs? It says no refund. I said no because I was hungry when I came in and I only read your. Menu, she said no. You will not get a refund. Do you want me to cook you something else? Are you serious? I don't want you to cook me anything. She said, hold on and guess what she did. Yep, you guessed it, she called the police. That was so hilarious. What the officer did. Was informed or she had to at least give me half of my money back. I agree with him and the little dummy ended up giving the whole bag of food to my friend that was with me and over half of my money. So I won, please that little. Speedy W o k name is perfect speedy w o k. Be very careful of the strip mall restaurants.Terrible service one rating in the store is exaggerating.

This was my first time here. Ordered the fried crab sticks meal with house fried rice and sweet tea. Food was hot and everything was delicious 😊. Despite being super busy, service was quick and professional.
