About Sorrento's Pizza HALAL

Sorrento's Pizza HALAL is located at 292 Spielman Hwy # 6 in Burlington, CT. While listed under the platform category of Chinese Restaurant, it's important to note that recent customer feedback indicates a significant change in ownership and a focus on HALAL food preparation.

Based on recent reviews, customers have experienced differences in the expected menu items. One customer who ordered a sausage and mushroom pizza reported receiving a pizza with sliced kielbasa instead of traditional sausage, which was disappointing. They also noted that the gyro was not what they anticipated, described as more of a small wrap with cubed meat and mushy lettuce. This customer suggested that the change in the sausage type is likely due to the new HALAL focus, as pork is not permitted.

Another customer expressed strong dissatisfaction, stating it was the worst pizza they had ever had and that the meatballs and chicken parm appeared to be frozen and reheated. This review raises concerns about the overall food quality.

A key point raised by a reviewer is the potential for misleading customers due to the name still being "Sorrento's Pizza" while operating under new HALAL ownership, which may also influence the style of pizza, possibly leaning towards an "Indian based pizza joint." The suggestion is for the restaurant to consider changing its name and clearly describing its ingredients and HALAL status to attract the appropriate clientele who are specifically looking for this type of food and to avoid confusion with previous expectations. Ordered sausage and mushrooms. Got a kielbasa sliced pizza with mushrooms. Yuck! Crust good but so disappointed. Gyro was not what was expected either. Very different and more like a small wrap. The lettuce was mush and the meat was cubed. After reading other reviews and realizing there is new ownership which is “HALAL”. Makes sense why the sausage was not what you would normally expect because pork is not an ingredient they can use. The new ownership should change the name of the restaurant and stop misleading customers. Also need to describe ingredients and let customers know this is an Indian based pizza joint. I like Indian food but when I order pizza I want what I expect. I believe if the ownership changes the name and correctly markets their food as Halal they get the clientele looking for this type of food. They even. Get customers who embrace the change and not be misled that this is the Sorrento food they knew and expect.

Worst Pizza I’ve ever had. Meatballs and chicken parm were frozen and reheated. Stay away!

Thin Italian pizza crust, quite unique, I liked it, thin and firm. I had a small hamburger, onions and banana peppers. Important facts, try to find an Italian pizzeria in this area that has hamburg not meatballs and I challenge you to find one that offers banana peppers. I thought it was close to perfect! Debbie had an 8" Chicken Vodka Grinder, she immediately said she wished she got the 12". She loved it. She's going to order more vodka sauce on the next one. A definite well earned recommendation.

Had a cheeseburger pizza for dinner, was one of the tastiest pie’s I’ve ever had. Ate every bite. The grinders never disappoint and are always fresh. Super nice people working here as well. Convenient location here in Burlington.

Since new ownership the food quality has gone downhill greatly. The pizza has no flavor, many times burnt, sparse, minuscule toppings, toppings that are not what was ordered, and it’s not just the pizza it’s everything right down to the salads. Meatballs are no longer homemade like previous owners had done. We’ve tried several times in last 7 months hopeful for improvement and it just hasn’t happened. Sad for Burlington to lose what was a great pizzeria.
