About Snow Pea Western

Snow Pea Western is a Chinese restaurant located at 6600 N Western Ave in Oklahoma City, OK 73116. As a part of the Chinese Restaurant category, it aims to serve local users with a selection of Chinese cuisine. However, recent customer feedback available online indicates significant concerns regarding the quality, value, and service experienced at this establishment.

One customer, who revisited Snow Pea after several years, ordered the Lemon Chicken (L2). Their review details a disappointing meal consisting of two small pieces of dark meat chicken, a small portion of steamed rice, and a meager amount of wok vegetables. The customer also noted additional charges for condiments, specifically $0.75 for chili paste and $0.50 for sweet and sour sauce. The total cost of this lunch was $15, which the reviewer felt was significantly overpriced, estimating its value at "very best" $10. This negative experience led the customer to conclude they would not return, citing the availability of "too many other good lunch options" and recalling a more positive experience at the restaurant's downtown location, which they found friendlier, more generous, and better in taste.

Another customer review expresses strong dissatisfaction with both the ordering process and the food quality. This reviewer reported being "forced to pay a tip on the kiosk" during the ordering process, with no apparent option to cancel the tip. They further stated that there was "literally Zero service," as the staff did not come from behind the counter. Regarding the food itself, the reviewer described it as "greasy and bad." Specific issues were highlighted with the Fried Rice, which reportedly contained "no veggie or egg," and the chicken dish, which had only "two pieces of broccoli." The sauce was also described as "gross." This overwhelmingly negative experience paints a concerning picture of the food quality and service at Snow Pea Western.

Based on these two recent customer reviews, it is challenging to provide a positive or detailed description of the environment, services, or features of Snow Pea Western. Both reviews focus heavily on negative aspects of the food and service, with no mention of the restaurant's ambiance or any positive attributes. The first review indirectly suggests that a downtown location of Snow Pea might exist and offer a better experience, but this does not provide any insight into the N Western Ave location.

The service at the N Western Ave location, as described in the second review, appears to be minimal, with customers ordering via a kiosk and no staff interaction beyond food pickup. The forced tipping on the kiosk before receiving any service is also a significant point of concern raised by this customer.

In terms of features, the limited information prevents a comprehensive overview. The menu includes items like Lemon Chicken and Fried Rice, but the execution and value of these dishes have been heavily criticized in the provided reviews. The additional charges for common condiments like chili paste and sweet and sour sauce could be considered a feature of their pricing policy, but it was viewed negatively by at least one customer.

There is no promotional information available in the provided text. Therefore, it is impossible to comment on any special offers, discounts, or signature dishes that Snow Pea Western might be promoting to attract customers.

Given the strongly negative feedback in both of the available customer reviews, local users should approach Snow Pea Western with significant caution. The reported issues with small portion sizes, additional charges for sauces, poor food quality (greasy food, lack of ingredients in fried rice, minimal vegetables), and the lack of service (forced tipping for no table service) are serious concerns that potential diners should consider.

The stark contrast mentioned by one reviewer between the N Western Ave location and a downtown location (in terms of friendliness, generosity, and taste) suggests a potential inconsistency within the Snow Pea brand, if indeed they are related. However, without further information or reviews specifically about the downtown location, this remains speculative and does not alleviate the concerns raised about the N Western Ave restaurant.

In conclusion, based on the limited and negative customer feedback provided, there are significant concerns regarding the food quality, portion sizes, pricing (including extra charges for sauces), and service at Snow Pea Western, located at 6600 N Western Ave in Oklahoma City. Potential local users are strongly advised to consider these recent experiences when making their dining decisions and perhaps seek alternative Chinese restaurant options in the area that have received more positive and detailed reviews. Without any positive feedback or information about the restaurant's environment or unique features, it is impossible to provide a positive or encouraging introduction based solely on the available data.

Ate at Snow Pea today for first time in years and ordered Lemon Chicken (L2). Received 2 small pieces of dark meat, steamed rice and wok vegetables (not enough to fill even a small area of carton). $.75 for chili paste and another $.50 for sweet and sour sauce. $15 lunch I took away and they wanted a tip, too. This was a $10 lunch at very best. Won't be back. Too many other good lunch options! Downtown location much friendlier, generous and better taste.

Ordered and was forced to pay a tip on the kiosk, I couldn't seem to cancel it. There's literally Zero service, they don't come from behind the counter. Food was greasy and bad. Fried rice had no veggie or egg. Two pieces of broccoli in the chicken. Sauce was gross.

I have been dining at the snow pea for over 20 years. They have the universe’s best grilled lemon chicken. Period. Just go get it right now. You owe me one for this.

Haven't been back for couple years now. My last time was in 2015 and the food/service wasn't great and friendly. That's all changed now. The food tastes great!! The grilled lemon chicken tastes fresh and succulent, not dried like my last visit. I also had the meat stick couldn't believe how good it was. Got to talk to the young guy that does the cooking. Come to find out they've had a management change in late 2015 (after my last visit). All I can say is I'm happy they did. My experience was great and will be a regular now that I've moved back to the Nichols Hills area. If you're on a budget and looking for great food, I highly recommend to give it a try.

My husband and I were walking around today and smelled the food from the side of the streets, it smelled so good we had to find it. Once we got there the gentleman was so sweet and made us feel at home. We ordered the sweet and sour chicken and egg roll with chicken on a stick. It was amazing. Probably the best I've had in awhile. Portions were huge and prices were great. So glad we found this place . We will definitely be back!!!
