About Skyview Noodle & Tea
Skyview Noodle & Tea, located at 200 E 3rd St in Pittsburg, California, presents itself as a unique establishment within the Chinese restaurant category, extending its offerings to include a selection of fragrant teas alongside its noodle-centric menu. For local users in Pittsburg seeking a departure from typical Chinese fare, Skyview Noodle & Tea promises a dining experience characterized by welcoming service, distinctive house-made noodles, and a setting within a historical building.
Customer reviews highlight several key aspects of Skyview Noodle & Tea. The tea service is noted for its quality, with one reviewer describing the tea as "fragrant and served hot." This suggests that tea is a significant part of the dining experience here, potentially offering a variety of options to complement the food. The welcoming service is also consistently mentioned, indicating a focus on creating a positive and hospitable environment for guests.
The core of Skyview Noodle & Tea's appeal lies in its noodle dishes, particularly the house-made noodles. One reviewer who sampled the seafood noodles and spicy beef noodles specifically appreciated the "slightly chewy house-made noodles" and their ability to carry different flavor profiles effectively. The seafood noodles were described as having a "light seafood flavor," while the same noodles shone through in the "spicy beef," indicating a versatile and well-crafted noodle base. The spicy beef itself was noted for not being overly spicy and possessing an "herbal flavor," suggesting a nuanced and potentially unique seasoning. The reviewer concluded that their overall meal was "better than most of the noodle houses I have visited," expressing a strong intention to make Skyview Noodle & Tea a regular dining destination.
Another customer who identified the cuisine as "Asian food" shared their experience with the Combo Chow Mein, Eel sushi roll, and Onion pancake. The Combo Chow Mein was described as "delicious with a little kick in spices" and "different than what I had expected for Chow Mein," suggesting a unique preparation that might deviate from standard versions. While they found it "good but not great," the element of surprise with the flavor profile is noteworthy. The Eel sushi roll, on the other hand, received a "very good" rating, indicating that Skyview Noodle & Tea might also offer some Japanese-inspired items beyond noodles and tea.
The Onion pancake was another dish that stood out for its preparation. Unlike the pan-fried version the reviewer was accustomed to, the one at Skyview Noodle & Tea was "deep fried." Despite this difference, the reviewer still found it "good," highlighting the restaurant's willingness to offer variations on familiar dishes. The portion sizes of the noodles were also deemed "good," suggesting that customers can expect a satisfying amount of food.
A significant challenge mentioned in one of the reviews is that the restaurant is "short on staff," which reportedly led to longer wait times and the need to remind the server of the order. The reviewer noted that there was only one person handling both waiter and busboy duties. While this staffing issue impacted the service speed, the reviewer still found the atmosphere to be "good" due to the fact that the restaurant is located in a "historical building." This unique setting adds an element of charm and character to the dining experience, potentially offsetting some of the service delays caused by understaffing.
The mention of a historical building as the restaurant's location adds an intriguing dimension to the environment of Skyview Noodle & Tea. Dining in such a setting can offer a unique ambiance and a sense of connection to the local history of Pittsburg. The specific architectural details or historical significance of the building are not provided, but the fact that it contributes positively to the atmosphere suggests it is a noteworthy feature.
Based on the provided reviews, Skyview Noodle & Tea distinguishes itself through its house-made noodles, fragrant tea selection, and a potentially unique spin on familiar Asian dishes. The welcoming service is a definite plus, although staffing shortages might occasionally lead to slower service. Tea was fragrant and served hot. Service was very welcoming. We ordered the seafood noodles, beef roll up, and spicy beef noodles. I appreciated the slightly chewy house-made noodles carrying the light seafood flavor in my bowl while still shining in the bowl of spicy beef. The spicy beef wasn't too spicy and also had an herbal flavor. Overall, the meal was better than most of the noodle houses I have visited. We will definitely keep this restaurant in our regular rotation.
Asian food. I had the Combo Chow Mein. The Combo Chow Mein was delicious with a little kick in spices. It was different than what I had expected for Chow Mein. It was good but not great. I had the Eel sushi roll and it was very good. I like the onion pancake which was deep fried and not pan fried as I am used to. However it was good. The noodles were good portions. They are short on staff which makes the wait time longer and needed reminding of my order. There was only one person working as a waiter and bus boy duty. Still good atmosphere as it is a historical building.
I found this place a few months ago while looking for dumplins in the area. I was finally able to visit and I saved it for my birthday dinner. Walked in and was greater with a smile, so we sat and reviewed the menu and started to order. We ordered, spring rolls, dumplins in chilli sauce, beef noodle soup and I think fresh potstickers and a peach tea and a strawberry black tea. Everything was absolutely fire. If you're looking for authentic flavorful food, this is a must visit.
Incredible Incredible Incredible, and that's still not enough! Their service and food was truly amazing, so so so delicious! Took my 9yr daughter here and got a bunch of stuff to try. Introducing her to more foods and this place is her HEAVEN. We ordered house fried rice, pork buns, cucumber salad, wonton soup, CA crunchy roll with Mango tea!! Amazing, definitely coming here a lot more! A GEM place, MUST GO TOO!!
We only tried the Chinese cuisine but everything tasted authentic and delicious. The pickled mustard greens was a very pleasant surprise in our dishes. Also enjoyed the charming interior and kind service.
