For years I’ve heard rave reviews about Singo, so my mother-in-law, husband, and I stopped in for dinner tonight. While it’s exceptionally cold outside at the moment, I don’t think there was any heat on at all - it was freezing in the restaurant! Sat down and my chair cushion popped off of the seat and had to swap it out. Server was nice and food arrived quickly, we were in and out in an hour. However, we found everything to be extremely average. They’re known for their baked rolls, and I’m still left wondering exactly what that means. I had the chicken teriyaki roll, which was mostly filled with cucumber, and the sushi pieces were so huge that it was difficult to eat. I also ordered the steak teriyaki, and I’ve never received it like this before. The teriyaki sauce was non-existent, and it had very thin slices of beef that were mostly fat. Definitely was not worth the $23. My husband said his hot night 2 roll was overly drowned in sauce and had too much rice, and his salmon was sliced so thin that you could actually see the wasabi underneath - at all of the places we’ve been to, we’ve never seen that before. My mother in law was fine with the tuna tartare. We’re really left wondering what all of the hype is about.

Sushi was fantastic, What a Menu! I like eating sushi but going here really showed me just how inexperienced I am with a true sushi restaurant. Google will be your friend here because I could not understand 99 % of the very large sushi menus . That being said we basically got a chefs choice combo which came with many different cuts of sashimi and it was excellent and fresh. We also got the miso soup which was awesome! We sat at a table near the exterior walls though and there are no heaters, so it was cold. We will definitely be returning but sitting closer to the kitchen :)

Delicious food, owner is always cordial and happy to see his customers, atmosphere is fun. Too bad it's not crowded like it was before Covid.

This place has the best sushi in the greater waterbury area. Singo is back and he is a true artist when it comes to his dishes. Just visited today and they have expanded their space. It is now double in size and they did a great job with the renovation. Ingredients are always fresh and you can find some very creative rolls at this place. I always stop in when I visit the area.
