About Simpang Asia

Simpang Asia, situated at 10433 National Blvd #2 in Los Angeles, CA, is presented as a Chinese Restaurant on the platform. However, customer reviews suggest a menu featuring a variety of flavorful dishes beyond traditional Chinese cuisine.

One customer who dined for lunch found the food to be "pretty good," enjoying the rice and noodle dishes they ordered. They also highlighted the Martabak Manis for dessert, noting its rich flavor and filling nature despite a small portion size. This reviewer mentioned the convenience of parking available in front of the restaurant and appreciated the friendly service.

Another customer expressed pleasant surprise at the food's quality and taste, also noting the appealing presentation. They echoed the sentiment about the friendly staff. While they mentioned that parking could potentially be an issue, they were fortunate to find a spot directly in front of the restaurant without any wait.

Specific dishes received high praise in another review. The Chicken Sate was described as having "so much flavor," with the peanut sauce being considered possibly the best the reviewer had experienced. The Paratha was a "surprise," noted for being "super flaky, fresh," and well-complemented by its accompanying sauce. The Nasi Goreng Jagger Fried Rice was described as "extremely spicy," which was perfect for the reviewer but potentially too intense for many others. It was lauded as "one of the best," with a good balance of flavors and a well-integrated omelette topping.

Based on these reviews, Simpang Asia offers a diverse and flavorful menu that includes rice and noodle dishes, as well as unique items like Martabak Manis, Chicken Sate, Paratha, and Nasi Goreng. Dined it for lunch here and the food was pretty good. We enjoyed the rice and noodle dishes we ordered, as well as the Martabak Manis for dessert (this dish was very filling for a small portion). There was parking available in front of the restaurant and service was friendly.

I was pleasantly surprised by how good and tasty the food is, and their presentation is a bonus. The staff is friendly. Parking could be a problem, but we got a spot right in front of the restaurant without having to wait. Food: Chicken Sate - So much flavor, the peanut sauce is probably the best in my experience Paratha - This one was a surprise. Super flaky, fresh and the sauce that comes with it complements it well. Nasi Goreng Jagger Fried Rice - They say its extremely spicy, for us it was absolutely perfect. But for most of you out there, this could be too much. One of the best, very well balanced with the omelette on top.

I used to go to this place before the pandemic, food used to be really good. Now the quality and good hygiene is gone. We ordered three plates: 1. Rames The noodles were good. Beef was bad, so chewy and felt like old meat. Chicken was undercooked and some parts were raw. The taste and flavor has gone down in quality. 2. Festival Rice Beef was not the best. But the flavors were good. Wish the original taste comes back. This plate also came with chicken and it was not cooked. 3. Lumpia This was nice, tasty with sauce. Vegetarian.

Simpang Asia is a fantastic local gem that delivers authentic Indonesian cuisine with flair. The restaurant offers a great mix of classic dishes and street food staples, making it a perfect spot for both newcomers to Indonesian food and longtime fans. The decor is inviting, and with both indoor and outdoor seating, you can choose your preferred dining vibe. The service was warm and attentive, which added to the overall experience. Portions here are generous, so come hungry or plan to share. The standout for us was the Rendang—a slow-cooked beef curry that was melt-in-your-mouth tender and beautifully spiced. It’s hearty enough to share and is an absolute must-try. Another favorite was the Lontong Cap Gomeh, which featured a whole half chicken infused with rich curry and aromatic spices. Both dishes were incredibly flavorful, and you truly can’t go wrong with either choice. Simpang Asia hits all the marks for a memorable dining experience: amazing food, welcoming service, and a cozy atmosphere. This is definitely a spot we’ll return to again and again. Highly recommended!

Halal Indonesian restaurant near downtown LA. We came for lunch on Friday and it was busy but service was great and good is acceptable to western taste. It’s a little sweet and spicy but overall great and I would recommend the Nasi kuming and Nasi bungkus.
