Silk Road Asian Cuisine - Lewis Center, OH

I saw this restaurant a year ago but haven’t got a chance to try it. I tried this as I came to Kroger. This is small dine in restaurant as it has small 4-5 tables. Service was quick. I tried create your own and Singapore rice noodles, it was good. If you like Chinese or Thai you should try.

I heard about Silk Road from an online newsletter, so thought we should check it out. It is in the Kroger shopping center strip mall in Lewis Center. The decor is nothing to speak of, but the food and service were great! They must do the majority of their business from take out, because the greeter and cashier kind of laughed when we asked to eat in. There are about 5 tables for dine in. I started with Thai spring rolls and my husband had an egg roll. Both were good and piping hot. Then I had the Thai Red Curry with shrimp and my husband had the Create Your Own meal—fried chicken chunks with broccoli, pea pods, and carrots. My red curry was some of the best I’ve ever had, and it was quite spicy, but not too much. It had asparagus, green beans, okra, mushrooms, green and red peppers, and potatoes. I highly recommend. This was a good choice and reasonably priced with good sized portions!

Sesame chicken: delicious, I heard the sauce is homemade and it sure taste like it Stir fry vermicelli noodles: tasty, lots of vegetables! Walnut shrimp: crispy and the sauce come on the side which is great for dipping Sweet and sour soup is a little spicy Egg drop soup is perfect

I had high hopes for Silk Road Asian Cuisine, but my recent visit was a total letdown. I ordered the fried rice, orange chicken, and Mongolian BBQ, and it was a disaster from start to finish. First, the fried rice was a soggy mess. It lacked flavor and was clumped together like it had been sitting out for far too long. I’ve had better fried rice from a frozen dinner! The orange chicken was no better. Instead of the crispy, tangy dish I expected, it was mushy and tasted overwhelmingly sweet, almost like it had been doused in syrup. It completely overshadowed any hint of orange flavor, making it inedible. Then came the Mongolian BBQ. The meat was overcooked and chewy, and the vegetables were limp and lifeless. It seemed like it had been thrown together in a rush with no regard for quality. To top it all off, the service was lackluster, with staff who seemed uninterested in our experience. The ambiance felt dingy, making me wonder about the cleanliness of the kitchen. Overall, Silk Road Asian Cuisine was a huge disappointment. If you’re looking for good Asian food, I recommend you keep searching. This place isn’t worth your time or money!

This was our first time ordering. It is carry out or delivery service only as of June 4, 2022. I called in the order at 6:30 pm and was asked to hold, I could hear him on the phone taking other orders, I think it was three orders in less than one to two minutes, then the gentleman on the phone also took mine very quickly. I was actually a little nervous our order might not be correct because it was so quick, and we haven’t had great luck at a ton of other places for pick up lately. But geez, that worry was for nothing! We ordered 10 items and they all came as ordered, plus it was all delicious!!! They have a TON of vegetarian options which was great for us. My husband had zero trouble getting the food it was ready when they said it would be ready, he was in and out of the building picking it up within one minute, and after the 10 minute drive home it was all still perfect. We were very pleased. The food was delicious. Definitely our new spot for Asian cuisine!! We got : vegetable gyoza, edamame, vegetable spring rolls, shrimp and vegetable tempura, crab Rangoon, veggie fried rice, veggie lo mein, Thai red curry with tofu, general tso vegetarian chicken, and miso soup.
