Siam Thai Restaurant

Ordered Thai Basil fried rice. It wasn't the tastiest Thai food I've eaten. However, the vegetables were well cooked and the rice was mild in flavor. May give this restaurant another try someday. Gave this restaurant a second try within the same week. I explicitly asked for vegetarian massaman Curry with tofu. I was served curry with chicken. I didn't realize it immediately. However, I did find the tofu funny looking and asked my colleague to taste it. And of course it was chicken. They didn't look very apologetic that they served the wrong dish. Just a casual "I'll take the food away" and that's about it. Not going there again.

Fun little spot on the square in Decatur. Service was great! Super friendly! Nice menu with lots of selections. Food was meh. The fresh basil rolls were definitely not fresh. Must have come straight from the refrigerator after having been in there for hours. Super cold and hard. The chicken dumplings were fine but pretty bland and the pad Thai was also just okay. I really didn’t find anything flavorful like Thai food should be. Probably not going back.

Disappointed to leave this review, but it’s important for others to be aware. I visited Siam Thai expecting to enjoy a meal within their posted business hours. Unfortunately, when I walked in they informed me they already closed well before the scheduled time without any notice or explanation. It’s frustrating to make the effort to support a local business, only to find the doors open and the sign flipped to closed, or see other people still inside enjoying their meal. Reliable hours are a basic expectation, and a lack of consistency makes it hard to plan a visit or recommend the place to others. I hope the management takes this feedback seriously and communicates any early closures in the future—whether on social media, Google, or even a sign on the door. A little transparency goes a long way.

The honey tofu was excellent. I will try them again Got the basil rolls. Didn't care for the dipping sauce and the tofu inside was strange (hopefully it was tofu) Grub hub order:Sent the wrong protein. I decided to pick it up myself because they wanted me to reorder it on the app and I thought I would have to repay the delivery fee, (I'm on a very fixed food delivery budget) They did refund my money and remake the food for me. Their brown rice is actually brown rice (not just fried brown, like some other places)

This place is awesome! The atmosphere is cool for an impromptu lunch or even a dinner date. The food was more than affordable, and it was SO good! My ONLY critique was that my chicken was slightly...& I do mean SLIGHTLY overcooked but not enough to take away from the taste, the presentation, or the experience. Would definitely recommend...WE WILL BE BACK!!!
