About Shun Cheong
Welcome to Shun Cheong, a Chinese restaurant situated at 2 W 111th St in the Upper Manhattan area of New York City. As a Chinese restaurant serving the local community, Shun Cheong offers a variety of familiar dishes, primarily catering to customers through takeout and delivery services, as indicated by the available reviews which mention ordering via platforms like UberEats.
Information regarding the restaurant's physical environment, such as its interior decor or dining area, is not provided in the customer reviews. The focus of the feedback revolves around the food quality and the experience of ordering and receiving meals through delivery services. Therefore, an assessment of the ambiance or dine-in experience cannot be made based on the available information.
The service aspect, based on the reviews, is primarily related to the efficiency and satisfaction of the delivery process. One customer who ordered through UberEats had a positive initial experience, highlighting the promptness and accuracy of their order. However, another review expressed significant dissatisfaction, indicating potential inconsistencies in service or order fulfillment. This suggests that while some customers may have positive service experiences, others may encounter issues.
In terms of its features, Shun Cheong appears to specialize in classic Chinese-American dishes. One customer specifically sought out their Egg Foo Young, a dish they hadn't enjoyed since childhood, and reported that Shun Cheong's version was reminiscent of the traditional flavors they remembered, with the "gravy on point." They also praised the deliciousness of the fried rice, noting its similarity to the Chinese food they had experienced in restaurants while growing up in the city, evoking a sense of nostalgia. This suggests that Shun Cheong may offer dishes prepared in a more traditional style that resonates with those who have long-standing memories of classic New York City Chinese cuisine.
However, it is crucial to note a contrasting review that presents a less favorable perspective on the food quality. This customer described the food as tasting "old," drawing a comparison with another local establishment, Dragon 105, which they perceived as having "very better food quality." This negative review further detailed issues with specific items, such as burnt and greasy egg rolls, and shrimp and broccoli that tasted like they had been reheated from the previous day. This feedback indicates potential inconsistencies in food preparation and quality control at Shun Cheong.
The discrepancy between the two reviews highlights the subjective nature of taste and the possibility of varying experiences with Shun Cheong's food. While one customer found a sense of nostalgic satisfaction and praised specific dishes, another encountered significant quality issues that led to disappointment. This suggests that while Shun Cheong may have the potential to deliver satisfying traditional Chinese-American fare, consistency in food quality might be an area of concern for some customers.
Given the limited information and the contrasting customer experiences, it is challenging to provide a comprehensive overview of Shun Cheong. However, based on the available reviews, it can be inferred that Shun Cheong is a Chinese restaurant in Upper Manhattan that primarily operates through takeout and delivery. It offers a menu that includes classic dishes like Egg Foo Young and fried rice, with the potential to evoke nostalgic flavors for some. However, there are also reports of food quality issues, such as staleness and improper preparation, which prospective customers should be aware of.
For local users in the Upper Manhattan area considering Shun Cheong for their next Chinese food order, it is advisable to weigh the available feedback. The positive review suggests that certain dishes may be prepared in a way that resonates with those seeking traditional flavors, while the negative review raises concerns about freshness and overall quality. As there is no information regarding current promotions or specials, customers may want to check directly with the restaurant or through their preferred delivery platform for any such offers.

Customer Reviews
I've only ordered through UberEats. The first time I ordered was maybe 2 weeks ago. I wanted to try the egg foo young as I haven't had this dish since I was literally a child. This was my mother's favorite dish whenever we went out for chinese food. Omggg it tastes just like how I remembered and the gravy was on point! The fried rice was delicious too. It literally taste like the chinese food I had at restuarants when I was growing up in tue city. I don't know what happened over the years but the nyc chinese food is different. This order just made me so nostalgic. I just placed an order for beef lo mein so I have high expectations for this dish now lol.
The food taste old, I usually order from dragon 105 which has very better food quality. The eggs roll was burnt and super greasy. The shrimp and broccoli taste like they made yesterday and just re heated it. I should have listen to the reviews and never order from here. Very disappointing
Omg I don’t do reviews but this place deserves it the food here is so good & fresh & the chicken wings 10/10 I found them thru uber eats.
4&5 star reviews are bullshit Garbage food. Ordered fried dumplings, they came burnt from being deep fried. Not sure what the sauce was, some soy and sugar junk you mixed together maybe? I ordered bbq pork, arrived in a pint of broth? Dry, tasteless pork. Seriously, what are you thinking? I ordered lo mein - nothing inherently wrong but also not good. How are you in business? Seriously, are you drunk? On drugs? Don’t care?
I’ve never been compelled to leave a review before now, but my food was delivered with the sauce completely spilled. I open it and the chicken and broccoli is like no chicken and broccoli I ever seen, it’s covered in red sauce? There was no fork or napkins to eat with. Then I try it and it tastes terrible. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone.
