About Shaxian Snacks

Shaxian Snacks is a Chinese restaurant located at 300 Grand St, New York, NY 10002, USA. You can reach them at (929) 966-9998 or +1 929-966-9998.

As a local Chinese restaurant described as a small, family-run establishment, Shaxian Snacks aims to offer a comforting taste of home. Customers consistently praise the staff for being friendly and kind, adding to the welcoming atmosphere. The restaurant is also recognized for its home-style cooking.

Popular dishes among patrons include the wontons, which are described as a "must get," and the beef tripe noodles. The fried wontons are also a hit, particularly with American friends. Additionally, their small bowls of herbal soup are recommended, especially during the colder months. These dishes appear to be features that provide a sense of authentic, home-cooked Chinese flavors.

However, not all dishes received universal acclaim. The peanut noodles were described as average, with a noticeable difference in the peanut sauce used for the noodles compared to their dumplings. The sour and spicy noodles were considered alright but not exceptional. One traveler to New York suggested that, given limited stomach space, this might not be a top priority, and another customer left feeling unsatisfied, indicating that the food, while not bad, was not particularly memorable.

The price point at Shaxian Snacks is noted as pretty affordable. While the environment and specific services (like dine-in or takeout focus) are not detailed, the reviews suggest a cozy, family-run atmosphere. There is no promotional information available in the provided reviews. To get a full sense of their menu and offerings, visiting Shaxian Snacks might be the best approach.

A small family run restaurant that I looove coming here to find a little piece of home. The staff has always been so friendly and kind, they also cook amazingly! The wontons are always a must get and I love their beef tripe noodles, their fried wontons are always a hit with my American friends, and honestly their little bowls of herbal soup is just what you need in the cold winters!!

The peanut noodles are average. The peanut sauce from the dumplings tasted different than the noodles. The sour and spicy noodles are alright as well. The price point is pretty affordable, but as a traveler to NY, I wouldn’t waste my stomach space for this. It wasn’t bad, but wasn’t mind blowing. I left the restaurant unsatisfied 🥲.

Shaxsin Snacks offers a delightful experience for those craving authentic Chinese flavors. A highlight of their menu is the Shrimp Fried Rice, which stands out with its perfectly cooked shrimp and aromatic, seasoned rice. The dish features a satisfying balance of flavors and textures, with tender shrimp and a blend of fresh vegetables adding both taste and color. Shaxsin Snacks delivers a delicious, satisfying meal in a welcoming atmosphere, making it a top choice for anyone looking to enjoy high-quality Chinese cuisine.

I'm so excited there is a new, quality, cheap eats spot in the neighborhood. Not only that but they're offering different dishes than the other cheap eat spots (peanut butter noodles and dumplings). I tried the Shanxian noodles with soy bean paste and the wonton in peanut butter sauce. Both were excellent. I liked the noodles better because an interesting combination of texture and taste. The wonton I think were fish balls. And as a complete bonus the ladies who were cooking were super friendly and the service was exciting compared to the other spots nearby. I'll be back soon to try more!

I've been coming to this exact location for years prior to the switch over to this new establishment. Tried their fried beef flat noodles, and we were thoroughly unimpressed. The noodles were all cut up into little pieces, and their wasn't enough oil or color for what this dish is typically known for.
