Welcome to Shangrila Chinese Cuisine, a notable establishment within the Chinese Restaurant category, conveniently located at 6568 Village Parkway in Dublin, California. Shangrila Chinese Cuisine offers a dining experience characterized by its spacious venue, generous portion sizes, and a focus on delivering flavorful, albeit sometimes described as "oily," Chinese dishes. Based on customer feedback, this restaurant provides a solid option for those seeking a traditional Chinese meal in a comfortable setting with efficient service.
The environment at Shangrila Chinese Cuisine is described as "spacious," suggesting that it can comfortably accommodate a significant number of diners. This is further supported by a review noting that even during a fairly busy takeout lunch period, there were still "plenty of seats" available. The restaurant also appears to prioritize cleanliness, as one enthusiastic customer specifically mentioned that it was "very clean," contributing to a positive first impression. The presence of someone consistently managing the counter for incoming guests indicates an organized and attentive approach to customer flow. While one reviewer cautioned about potential sogginess with takeout due to the lack of ventilation in the boxes, the overall impression of the dining environment is positive, emphasizing space and cleanliness within the Chinese Restaurant setting.

Multiple reviews point to "quick service," indicating that the restaurant aims for efficiency in delivering meals to its customers. Shangrila Chinese Cuisine features a menu that delivers on expectations for a traditional Chinese restaurant, with "large portions" being a consistently mentioned characteristic. While one reviewer described the food as "good oily food," this suggests a particular style of cooking that some diners appreciate for its flavor. The beef chow mein, though not specifically mentioned in these reviews, is a common offering in many Chinese restaurants and likely available here. The standout feature, according to one highly satisfied customer, was the "delicious" rice, indicating a mastery of this staple dish. The overall impression is that Shangrila Chinese Cuisine provides familiar and satisfying Chinese fare in generous quantities. The combination of large portions, quick service, and a welcoming atmosphere makes it a potentially appealing choice for both individual diners and groups looking for a straightforward and enjoyable Chinese meal. Customer Reviews
Good oily food, large portions, and spacious venue. Got exactly what I expected from this Chinese Restaurant, with quick service to boot. I came for a takeout lunch on Wednesday. There were 3 groups dining in and 4 folks waiting on the side. It's fairly busy, but there are still plenty of seats. I liked that there was someone at the counter at all times managing in-coming guests. This place is likely better for dining in since there are no holes for ventilation in your takeout box so the food will get soggy quickly. Would come again and possibly try dining in.
I absolutely recommend the restaurant, since I arrived I had a good impression because it was very clean, they opened the doors for me and they welcomed me very well, offering me the menu, the attention was the best compared to other restaurants, the food was excellent The rice tasted delicious, I highly recommend this restaurant, everyone is very friendly. The music was not loud, it was soft enough to eat and enjoy the delicious food.
Recently, I decided to eat at Shangri-La Chinese restaurant, located in Dublin, CA. I tried their lemon chicken and fried vegetable eggrolls. I will say what I was expecting to get, and what I actually got was too different things. The eggrolls we basic and slightly overcooked, but still tasted good. They used lumpia shells instead of the traditional eggroll shells, which gave the eggrolls a crisper and crunchier bite. The eggrolls came with a spicy mustard, which somehow tasted like their version of wasabi and the classic sweet and sour sauce. The lemon chicken on the other hand, is what surprised me the most as I had envisioned real chicken chunks tossed around in some type of secret lemon seasoning and fried. Instead, what I got was chicken bites (which seemed like the type you could buy at Costco or Sam's Club) with lemon flavored sauce drizzle over it that looked exactly like the sweet and sour sauce but was yellow in color instead. The lemon chicken was accompanied by my choice of fried rice, which was also average in taste, and a small side of sautéed vegetables. I will say that even though the lemon chicken wasn't what I was expecting, the sweetness of the lemon sauce still made it taste great. The restaurant had only been open for about 20 minutes when I arrived, but there were customers already there and eating, and the flow continued throughout my meal, so it is safe to say that their food is popular with the locals. All-in-all, if I found myself in the mood for some Chinese food, I would definitely eat here again.
I finally tried this place. It was good. I didn't like the hot & sour soup it was very bitter. I got the Honey Walnut Prawns. I asked for broccoli on the side. I'm not sure if it normally comes with it but I didn't get charged for extra broccoli so it may just be how it normally comes.
As I write this I am so full I can barely move!! I ordered the Mongolian beef dinner special, it's enough for two full lunches! I read someone said the food was bland ?? I actually found it cooked perfect without a lot of oil and salt, great fresh taste! I loved that the noodles and beef were not overcompensated with a ton of veggies, I thought the balance was great. I ordered over the phone to go, very good service. The restaurant looked so inviting that I will dine in next time. Would recommend with a 5 star review.
