Shanghai You Garden 上海豫園

No idea why the rate is so low. Sometime they are just busy, maybe too busy, which means everyone loves the foods and willing to wait. Anyway, I had good time every time dining here. Delicious and will come back again and again.

I have been excitedly waiting for this location to open. It was well worth the wait. The soup dumplings are so soupy and good. The noodles were perfect. The free peking duck bun was delicious. I love that they are in the 99 Ranch Market food court, so there's tons of parking, and places to sit and eat. They only do take out, so don't expect table service. There is a small surcharge for using a credit card, but they take venmo and zelle.

This chain used to be good for their soup dumplings because of the skin being thin and the soup inside flavorful... now (in the past year) the skin thickness doubled and the soup inside has gotten less and barely any flavor anymore. The pan fried dumpling skin was tough and thicker as well! Also had the salty soy milk, it came lukewarm at best. The fried pork chop soup noodle - the fried pork chop used to be juicy and tender while the soup had some flavor (never was a fan) but now, the fried pork chop is flavorless/hard as rock and for the soup... water has more flavor! The noodle was extremely soft (wayyyy past normal doneness) and the vegetable was bitter! The only good about this place was their service which was quick and friendly. Atmosphere is not their problem since it is a food court with the supermarket.

The Shanghai You Garden stall has finally opened. It is situated inside the 99 Ranch Supermarket food court along with other Vietnamese or Chinese food selections. It also offers free indoor seating.

So glad I don’t need to drive all the way to Queens to get my favorite soup dumplings. The lunch/dinner rush means you might have to wait a bit, but it’s so worth it. Lots of different options (breakfast options too!). We’ll be back for sure.
